The Windows of This Living Church

You will recall, that a year ago, we were presenting the newly restored windows, rescued from our original little mission parish down the road. At that time, I began meeting with composer and fellow pastoral musician, currently at Queen of Apostles, Mr. Brian McLinden. Brian is an accomplished published composer, known recently for his anthem written for the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Mercy Choir, “The Face of the Father’s Mercy,” which was sung on their pilgrimage to Rome in honor of the Year of Mercy.Join us on Saturday, June 30th at 4:00pm for Mass with Bishop Jeffrey Haines, when our Adult Choir and Hand Bell ensemble will present for the first time, a song that was composed to commemorate our 100th anniversary:

“The Windows of This Living Church.”

Open wide, the windows of this Living Church.Let our vision fill with wonder, let the Word enflame our hearts.

As we share the Bread of Life and together be reflections of His Light!

Open wide the shutters of our guarded hearts.May our actions speak our mission to be servants to God’s children.

May we manifest in deed our desire to be reflections of His light!

Open wide our shadowed eyes and stubborn minds.Help us imitate the meekness of the humble son of Padua;

that by virtue we may shine and be radiant reflections of His light!

Gaze into the windows of this Living Church: Jeweled stories share the call to seek the lost of the world.

With their dignity restored may we all be reflections of His light!

May all who see the windows of this Living Church find a welcome here to be bathed in the Living Water of Christ;

as we share the Bread of Life, and in wonder be reflections of His light!

We are honored to add this beautiful anthem to our St. Anthony repertoire, and grateful for the generosity of Sue Babb, a beloved member of the Adult Choir, who, in spite of her passing, continues to selflessly contribute to the Music Ministry of our beloved parish.

Complaining can poison your marriage. Sure, there are times when your spouse does something you don't like and you should honestly share that. Other times you may just want to vent. Occasional complaining is OK, but repetitive or more than once a day makes you a sourpuss. It's hard to love a sourpuss.
