D-D BREAUX NOTABLES

With each passing season, LSU gymnastics continues to collect more honors and titles to its storied program, and head coach D-D Breaux has been the catalyst behind LSU’s sustained success. Led by Breaux, LSU has seen increasing accolades that include nine NCAA Championships appearances in the last 10 seasons, four Super Sixes in the last seven years and nine individual national titles since 2002. In 2014, LSU completed arguably the finest season in school history as Breaux led the Tigers to numerous national and school-record accomplishments. The list of achievements in 2014 includes a program-record third-place national finish in the NCAA Super Six Finals, another individual national title by Rheagan Courville on vault, the 13th regional title in school history, the highest score in program history on three different occasions, 20 total All-America honors including a nation-leading five First-Team All-Americans, and a school-record 13 consecutive meets with at least a 197 score. Because of her outstanding efforts in leading LSU to a record season, Breaux was not only named the 2014 Central Region Coach of the Year, but she was also honored as 2014 National Coach of the Year. In 2013, LSU recorded the 12th regional team title in school history, and the Tigers reached the NCAA Super Six for the third time in 2013, recording a fifth-place finish. Three gymnasts won five individual SEC titles in Courville (VT, BB, AA), Lloimincia Hall (FX) and Jessica Savona (FX). In 2010 LSU reached the NCAA Championships for the ninth straight year while senior Susan Jackson became the first LSU gymnast to capture the NCAA All-Around national

title, and she also won the 2010 balance beam title to become LSU’s first three-time NCAA champion. In 2008 LSU joined elite company by advancing to the NCAA Super Six Finals as Breaux and the Tigers broke through into the six-team field for the first time in program history to compete for college gymnastics’ national championship. The Tigers placed fifth. In 2009, LSU made a repeat trip to the Super Six to compete for the national title, and one day later Breaux and staff coached senior Ashleigh Clare-Kearney to two individual national titles on vault and floor. As the “Dean of Coaches” at LSU, Breaux has represented the University at the highest level both in the gym and in the classroom for more than 30 years. Entering her 38th season as the mastermind of the LSU gymnastics program, the fire in Breaux’s eyes burns as brightly today as it did on her first day on the job. During her tenure Breaux has established and maintained LSU’s reputation as one of the premier collegiate gymnastics programs in the country. Under her tutelage, the Tigers have placed among the nation’s top-10 teams 25 times in 37 seasons, finishing a program-best third in 2014, fourth in 1988 and fifth in 2008 and 2013. LSU has also placed among the top three in regional competition on 29 separate occasions, winning regional titles 13 times in four different decades, including back-to-back first-place regional finishes in 2008 and 2009 and 2013-2014. Under her leadership, LSU has captured 10 individual national titles, 146 All-America honors and 54 All-SEC selections.

Jordan is the “Ice Lady” According to D-D Breaux: Cool Under Pressure On Balance Beam• LSU senior Jessie Jordan has been the anchor in the beam lineup her entire career, and she has been so steady in that role

that LSU coach D-D Breaux has often referred to Jordan as the “Ice Lady” because Jessie is cool under pressure and fits the proverbial phrase “She has ice water in her veins.”

• The proof is in the stats: Jordan currently is tied for first in the beam national rankings with a 9.917 season average, and she has won the beam title in all three meets this season.

• In fact, Jordan is up to 10 career beam titles which puts her in a tie with Ashleigh Clare-Kearney for eighth in career beam titles at LSU. She and fellow senior Rheagan Courville (12 career beam titles) have combined to help LSU become one of the nation’s top beam teams this season.

D-D Breaux In Year 38 as Head Coach and Doing Better Than Ever• LSU gymnastics is going into its 41st year of existence, and D-D Breaux has been at the helm for nearly all of it as she is in

Southeastern Conference selections, 177 SEC Academic Honor Roll members, 10 NCAA individual national champions, 31 AIAW or NCAA Championships appearances and four NCAA Super Six appearances in the last seven seasons.

Returning All-Americans and All-SEC Performers• LSU returns seven All-Americans and four All-SEC performers in 2015.• Rheagan Courville is a 16-time All-American, Jessie Jordan is a six-time All-American, Lloimincia Hall is a four-time All-

American, Ashleigh Gnat is a two-time All-American, and Sydney Ewing, Jessica Savona and Randii Wyrick all have one All-America honor.

• Courville, Hall, Jordan and Savona are LSU’s returning All-SEC performers, and Courville, Hall and Savona are also SEC champions.
