• 33 U.S. Navy Aegis BMD Cruisers/Destroyers– Proliferating new 2nd Generation Integrated Air and Missile
Defense (i.e., Launch on Remote) capability throughout the Fleet to Pace the Threat
– 38 Aegis BMD capable ships by 2018
• International Aegis Partners include Japan, Spain, Korea, Norway and Australia
• Flight Tests for 2015 :February: FTX 19

Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Update
• 1st operational unit deployed to Guam
• 7th Battery added to U.S. THAAD program
– THAAD Battery #5 activated in 2015
– THAAD Battery #6 activates 2016
• Executing first THAAD FMS Case with the UAE
• U.S. Army THAAD Institutional Training Base operational established at Ft Sill, Oklahoma
• Mission success on last 14 Flight Tests, with 13 for 13 Intercepts
• Demand for THAAD continues to grow
– U.S. Warfighter demand is driving a requirement for 9 THAAD Batteries
– Significant International interest in Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and now Europe
THAAD is tested, in production, operationally deployed and growing to meet warfighter requirements around the globe

• Two-stage interceptor for expanded battlespace
• Flexible 2nd stage, paces advancing threats
• Designed to integrate with existing THAAD Battery

• MDA evaluating THAAD Follow-On Options– Funded in FY16 and FY17
• Strong International Interest

PAC-3 System Update• PAC-3 missiles employ Hit-to-Kill technology that is required to destroy
Weapons of Mass Destruction
– PAC-3’s substantial energy imparted on the target at high altitudes results in little
to no lethal effects on the ground
• MSE has increased lethality and battlespace while also improving logistical flexibility and increasing safety
• PAC-3 increases PATRIOT firepower
• PAC-3 is the only fielded and combat proven Hit-to-Kill interceptor
– Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003
• PAC-3 defends against the Patriot
threat set
– Tactical ballistic missiles
– Cruise missiles

• Italy – Assessing participation
• Poland – Candidate for Narew, re-entered discussions for Wisla
