The “standard” V-500 vacuum breaker assemblies were provided with all Sloan “Royal” and “Regal” flush valves up to 1998. In January of 1998 Sloan began providing the high per-formance premium V-600 vacuum breaker assemblies on their “Royal” flush valves, while keeping the standard V-500 vac-uum breaker on the more economically priced “Regal” model of flush valve.

V-600 vacuum breaker assem-blies utilize vacuum breakers made from “Permex.” This material is better able to handle the higher back pres-sures associated with low water consumption toilets and urinals.

Notes: A 0.5 gpf Urinal kit can be converted to a 1.0 gpf by cut-ting and removing the smooth A-164 Flow Ring from the Guide. RESS-U G2 Optima Plus valves are supplied with multiple Regulators to address multiple flushing applica-tions. The product is shipped with its lowest flush volume configuration.

To convert the flush to a higher flushing volume, simply change the Regulator. When installing a new Regulator on a Flex Tube Diaphragm Kit, be sure to push the Regulator past the O-ring when Installing. Note: Never use more water than needed. Low Consumption water closets and urinals will not function properly on excess water.

Side-Mount Retrofit Automatic Flush Valves for TOILETS and URINALS

INSTALLATION of the Side-Mount Operator

■ Using the supplied collar wrench, remove handle from flush valve. On some flush valves with a faulty air vent, or recently flushed valve, be prepared to collect a small amount of water with a rag or sponge placed under the handle.

■ Place collar gasket into collar nut and attach the Side Mount Operator unit where the handle was removed.

■ Tighten collar nut with supplied collar wrench.

Note: Save the handle in the event you wish to reuse the handle while you service or replace the Side Mount Operator.

Easily convert any existing Sloan manually operated flush valve into an Automatic Battery-Operating Sensor Operated Flush Valve. One set of 4 “C” batteries can power this side-mounted operated valve for up to 2 years @ 3,000 flushes per month. 24-hour sentinel flush to keep fixtures clean.

Sloan Tailpieces and Pedal Valve Repair Kit The Tailpiece is the connection between the Valve Body and the Control Stop. Sloan Adjustable and Ground Joint Tail-pieces are threaded into the Valve Body at the factory. Sloan Tailpieces are avail-able in a variety of lengths to accommodate installation rough-in errors and unique installation requirements.

H-551-A Tailpieces and Repair Parts ■ The majority of flush valves supplied by Sloan since 1964 feature the H-551-A Adjustable Tailpiece. The valve Tailpiece connects to the Control Stop with a slid-ing O-ring seal. ■ The H-551-A Adjustable Tailpiece standard length is 2-1/16". Designed for a stan-dard flush valve installation where the distance between the centerline of the valve and the centerline of the water supply inlet is 4-3/4". The Adjustable Tailpiece al-lows for a variance of ± 1/2" from this nominal dimension.

■ Remove the Flushometer cover and interior parts. ■ Secure the Tailpiece Removal Bar vertically in a vice. Place the Flushometer Tailpiece over the Bar. The cast lugs inside the Tailpiece will catch on the Bar. ■ Insert a length of 3/4" pipe into the barrel of the Valve Body. ■ Unscrew Tailpiece from Valve Body and assemble the new Tailpiece into the Valve Body in the reverse manner. ■ Use Teflon tape (or pipe sealant) on Tailpiece pipe threads. ■ Ensure that both the Coupling and the Locking Ring (Adjustable Tailpiece only) are on the Tailpiece before tighten-ing the assembly. ■ Do NOT use sealant on the first few threads of the Tailpiece.

No need to use sealants! The cartridge has a special elastomeric check valve attached. The check valve is manufactured from space age, rubber-like synthetic polymer, used as leg urinals for Astronauts. It is treated to roll up when liquid is not passing through it, but flexible enough to open and permit liquid flow, from an intermittent drip to high rate flows. When the check valve is closed or liquid is flowing through the check valve, it successfully resists any emission of sewer gas and any backup of sewage from the waste line.

“What if my urinal drain gets clogged?” Use the Cartridge Removal Tool! Clean the drain and put back the cartridge.

The LifeTime Cartridge comes with a lifetime warranty. Should any defect or malfunction in the material occur within the lifetime of the urinal into which it was originally installed, the LifeTime Cartridge will be replaced by the manufacturer without charge. SLOAN REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE

The cartridge is the main operational component of any Sloan waterless urinal. Installed at the base of the urinal, it contains a biodegradable sealant liquid within the cartridge. A barrier is formed between the drain and the open air by the liquid sealant to prevent odors from escaping into the restroom. The filtering cartridge collects the uric sediment. The remaining non-corrosive liquid flows into the drainage pipe. The result: No wasted water from “flushing” and an odor-free environment. The cartridge is replaced simply with a provided key after 7000 uses.

Water Savings: Multiplying each use by 1.6 gallons of water (to compare to low-flow toilets) or by 3.5 (to compare to older units) shows a savings of 9,600 to 24,500 gallons of water.

Cartridge Operation: The Cartridge is engineered to receive waste through drain holes. Waste passes through an immiscible layer of Sealant, continues through a Siphon Trap System, and flows out through a Patented Baffle to prevent the loss of Sealant.
