Junk Food In the Social Area
Fast food (KFC, McDonalds, etc.) is banned in the social area. You can eat packed
lunch, meals from the canteen, snacks, sandwiches, but no cooked food bought from
local shops. Sorry!

Places To Get A Computer
On Friday the library will be shut between 8AM and 10AM. This is to allow the
assembly and placement of some new furniture. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Course Changes
If you would like to change one of your A level subjects complete the form now
available at reception. Please place it in Ian Hooper’s tray near the Principal’s
office. We try to provide the subjects you wish to take but this will depend on
whether you are qualified and whether there is a space.
You will be emailed by Ian Hooper if your application for a change is successful.
Please think carefully before applying for a change as they are not always reversible.

Today’s special is Bombay Kitchen – marinated chicken strips or falafels served with
khobez wrap with salads and sauce. If you load money onto your ID card you will find
the queue in the canteen will be much shorter. All coins above 10 pence can be loaded.

UCL Target Medicine Mentor Scheme
Target Medicine Mentor Scheme (TMMS) is a year-long mentoring
programme for Year 12 students from backgrounds currently
underrepresented in medical school with the potential and desire to
study medicine. Successful applicants will be paired with a current
UCL Medical Student who will act as their mentor for an entire
calendar year. The application form, eligibility and shortlisting
criteria, and further information about TMMS can be found on their

This will be a great volunteering opportunity for Years 12/13 to offer mentoring
support and homework help. Archer Academy’s Head Teacher Lucy Harrison will write
references etc and the volunteering can be used for UCAS applications.
