Our Group’s Observation

•Crew at the door/entrance

As we had observed, the guard securing McDonalds was very polite, he greeted whoever came in and out. He’s nice to customers. He always had a smile on his face, which made everyone who entered felt welcomed and comfortable. What made us admire him is the patience he had in himself. His job isn’t that easy, he has to stand at the entrance for a long period of time.

"A salute to him, for being so strong."-Mike Doss

• Crew at the dining area

The crews at the dining area are in charge of assisting customers in carrying their orders. They keep the cleanliness in the whole area. They’re the ones who put safety signage to make the customers be aware of something. Every crew has cleaning materials attached on their bodies, placed around their hips. These are what they use when cleaning used tables. They’re the gentlest people in McDonalds, despite of being the most pressured one.

“ Life has a way of setting things in order and leaving them bee. Life is

very tidy.”- Jean Anouilh

• Crew at the Counter

All the crews at the counter were nice. They are good in speaking, it’s fast but understandable. They keep an eye to eye contact whenever they talk to customers to get their orders. This made the customers felt well served and special. Throughout our observation on these crews, we noticed the existence of teamwork and unity. By this, getting of the orders became fast and organized.

• The manager

The manager was the most observant and well groomed. He often roams around to check and see if everything is at its best. Every crew greeted him. But despite of him being on a much higher position than the other workers, he doesn’t show nor made other workers feel that he is superior. He treats his co-workers nicely and accordingly.

“The greater you are, the more you should humble yourself”- Sirach 3:18

•The dining area

The dining area was well arranged and organized. Customers won’t be confused nor have a hard time finding available tables. The space was large in this area. The aisle space was enough and fit for customers to pass through. We also saw wall plaques and frames which drew and catch the attention of the customers. These stuffs on the walls maybe were displayed to avoid and lessen the boredom customers might feel.

•The restroom

Every restroom should be clean. Good to know that in McDonalds, it’s clean. It does have exhaust fan, that’s why the room still had and retained its pleasant smell. Toilet papers were in each cubicle. Customers won’t make it a problem of finding some whenever they need to discharge. Hand faucets, dryer were present and the tile floor was well mopped. And like all other restrooms, mirrors were present too, which is suitable for customers who are really image conscious.

•The utensils

McDonalds uses either plastic or metal eating utensils. But it’s your choice and depends on which you’re much comfortable. They got utensils for customers that aren’t difficult to use when eating. They have utensils that are common/familiar to most people. All are well cleaned and has its proper and clean container.

• The signage

McDonald’s signage has its story why and how they come up with that look and image. The idea was presented by Dick and Mac McDonald. Its arch shaped signs on the sides of their then ”walk-up hamburger stand”. From an angle, those arches looked like the letter “M” and thus, were incorporated in the McDonalds logo as a merger of the two golden arches together.
