eMagazinesCairns Libraries has a range of eMagazines to download for FREE. Thisservice is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To get started you will need:

• Your Cairns Libraries library card number• An email address and Internet access• A PC or portable device - Apple, Android, and Kindle, Fire/HD/HDX but not the windows phone. Library members would need to download titles manually through the website onto a windows phone.

How to set up your library eMagazine accounts

1. From www.cairnslibrary.com.au, select eLibrary - eMagazines2. Go to Cairns Libraries emagazine collection3. Click Create New Account and enter your details (library card number with a capital ‘X’) email address and a chosen password4. To search titles select Magazines. To browse choose Home from the menu button or Explore.5. Click Checkout to download and read. You can browse and checkout more eMagazines from our Cairns Libraries emagazine collection.

How do I read and download?

Smartphone or Tablet - Download the FREE RBdigital App for your device - Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire/HD/HDX and login to download your checked out items and read offline.

Online - You can now read eMagazines online using your browser by clicking on the magazine in your wish list.

Offline using a PC or Mac - Install the RBdigital app and login. You can now download your checked out items and read them offline.

Using the App

1. Go to your GooglePlay or Itunes App store and download the free RBdigital App. Where will I find Cairns Libraries’ eMagazines?

Go to www.cairnslibrary.com.au, click on Online from the top menu. From the list displayed, click on the eMagazines link.

How many eMagazines can I borrow at one time?

There is no limit.

How long is the lending period?

There is no limit. Magazines will remain on your Reading List until you remove them.

Can I access current issues?

New issues are released simultaneously with the print edition - many are available before they arrive at your library and are ready for immediate download.

How do I search for back issues?

Back issues for magazines are available from the time when the library started subscribing to RBdigital for Libraries (August 2014) and may be checked out at any time.

Can I download/read eMagazines at Cairns Libraries?

eMagazines are accessible to all customers who have an internet connection.eMagazines can also be viewed on Public Library PCs.

What is the average magazine size?

There are a range of sizes available, dependent upon the number of pages in the magazine. On average the size is 20 – 50MB, although some large, graphic heavy magazines are 50-100+MB. Can I receive notification when a new issue is available?Yes, you can! Simply check the ‘Email me when the next issue is available’ box next time you are borrowing your favourite magazine title.
