November is the month we focus on THANKSGIVING! For many of us this is a favorite time of year and Thanksgiving Day is a favorite holiday. That’s true for a lot of reasons… savory home-cooked food, fellowship with our family, and a season to reflect on God’s goodness and fullness of blessing in our lives.

During this season of gratitude let’s not forget our best and richest blessings: the Holy Scriptures, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, daily wisdom from God’s Word, the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit, and the blessed hope of Christ’s return and our eternal home in heaven. We are indeed a blessed people of God!

I want to express my personal gratitude for God’s goodness in allowing me to serve as pastor of LBC for over 21

years. Thanks also to our dear church family for your loving support and encouragement as I seek to fulfill my assignment from God. Nancy and I want to say a special THANK YOU for honoring us on Pastor Appreciation Day (October 27). We appreciate all the kind words, lovely cards and generous gifts, the special presentation by our LBC Student Ministry, and the delicious luncheon. Everything was so very nice and thoughtful!

I’m grateful for our LBC church family and consider it a high privilege to serve our Lord with you. God has uniquely blessed and prepared our church for such a time as this. I’m hum-bled and excited about the ministry God has entrusted to us. It is a Bible-based, Christ-honoring, God-fearing, disciple-making ministry. I pray that we may always be faithful stewards that please and honor our Lord.

All veterans will be honored in both the 8:30am and 11:00am Worship services. A special insert will be
