Overcome Chris Brown | Mack Brock

Now the darkness fades

Into new beginnings As we lift our eyes to a hope beyond

All creation waits With an expectation

To declare the reign, of the Lord our God

Chorus We will not be moved

When the earth gives way For the Risen One has overcome

And for every fear There’s an empty grave

For the Risen One has overcome

Now the silence breaks In the name of Jesus

As the heavens cry, let the earth respond All creation shouts

With a voice of triumph To declare the reign, of the Lord our God (chorus)

He shall reign forever

Strongholds now surrender For the Lord our God has overcome

Who can be against us Jesus our defender

He is Lord and he has overcome (chorus)

For the Risen One has overcome! *Reading from the Prophets Isaiah 66:12-15

*Hymn of Praise Praise Team By His Wounds

Mac Powell

He was pierced for our transgressions

He was crushed for our sins The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him

And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice

In the life that You gave We are healed for You paid the price

By Your grace we are saved, We are saved

What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus *Reading of Scripture Luke 12:35-48 35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

41 Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all?” 42 And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 45 But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful. 47 And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING The Semi-annual October Congregational Meeting is TODAY after the worship service. Per our By-laws the purpose of the meeting is for "hearing and recommending adoption of the 2020 budget”. Copies of the 2020 budget are available on the back tables in the sanctuary. As in previous years you are encouraged to call the person listed in the right most column prior to the congregational meeting if you have a question about a budget line item. If questions can be answered ahead of time this will speed up our congregational meeting.

FOOD PANTRY Donations Needed Our food pantry is running low. Cold weather is quickly approaching and the requests for pantry items will soon be upon us. Please help any way you can and thank you for you generous donations! While donations can be given at any time, we have designated Communion Sunday as a time to replenish our supplies. There are boxes in the coat room and the back of the old sanctuary to place your donations.

Tips for donating:

If donating pancake mix, make sure that it’s the complete mix – no eggs or oil needed (and syrup with it would be great)

If going to the dentist please ask if they have any extra items to spare – tooth brushes, toothpaste, floss

If you can only get one or the other, shampoo is always better than conditioner.

AMEN BIBLE STUDY Join us for a weekly men’s Bible study taught by Pastor Nathan every Saturday morning. Nathan is teaching on the Book of Joshua. We meet in the sanctuary, with breakfast and coffee provided at 7:15 am. Teaching starts at 7:30 am. Contact Mark Fuhrer for more information at [email protected]

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

Liberty's next Red Cross Blood Drive is Monday October 28th from 2:00-7:30 in our Fellowship Hall. Please schedule a lifesaving donation with Mary Gannon after Sunday morning worship service or call 800-733-2767 and mention our drive date.

Craig and Ree Coulbourne are Mission to the World (MTW is our denomination's foreign mission agency) missionaries to the Shin Urayasu Grace Church (SUGC) in the Tokyo Bay Area of Japan. They request the following prayers:

They praise God that they were not seriously harmed by the recent typhoon which significantly damaged other parts of Japan.

Their team was significantly short-handed because of members being on home assignment. They praise God that one family has returned, thus lightening their load.

Pray for Craig as he leads the Tokyo Bay Team, which has a vision to see church-planting work take place in three locations (SUGC being the first) by 2025.
