19. Checking if data is received • Access to Meshlium as explained before in page 5-6. • To check that your Plug & Sense! is sending data, see the ID_Wasp. The ID_Wasp of each Plug & Sense! can be found in the

details sticker.

20. Next StepsCheck the following instructions for setting up Meshlium working with the ESRI platform.

20.1. Obtaining a free developer accountESRI offers a free limited developer account to create different applications in the ArcGIS platform. In order to sign up, go to the webpage:

https://developers.arcgis.com/

Page 15: Libelium-ArcGIS Development Kit › ...start...arcgis_development_kit.pdf · The Meshlium integration with this platform creates a feature server in the user’s ArGIS online account

Click on “Sign up for free” button and fill the information required.

20.2. Setting up ESRI ARCGIS onlineArcGIS Online is an scalable and secure cloud-based mapping platform hosted by Esri, the global leader in geographic information systems.

The Meshlium integration with this platform creates a feature server in the user’s ArGIS online account and sends the sensor values stored in the device to the cloud.

At this point is it possible to use this data to create new maps, collaborative apps or analytics making use of the complete array of services provided by ArcGIS Online.

20.3. Configuration

20.3.1. Create an ArcGIS Online account

The first step to do is to create an account in ArcGIS online.

We have 2 possibilities:

Developer account

https://developers.arcgis.com/en/sign-up/

For development usage only, 50 credits/month.

Trial account

http://www.arcgis.com/features/free-trial.html?origin=libelium

200 credits/month limited to 60 days.

At any moment we can upgrade to any of the existing paid plans keeping all the work done.

20.3.2. Configure the plugin in Meshlium

Go to Cloud Connector > GIS and click in the “ArcGIS Online” tab.

Fill the form with your esri username and password and the name of the service name where the data will be stored in Arcgis Online. Click ‘Save’.

In the case that you will have various Meshlium devices in your project you can configure them with the same “Service Name” if you want to collect all the data of the projects in the same Feature Service.

In the “Esri Synchronization Status” area you will see the current status. You can Start or Stop the process from here.

After you click “Start” the status message should change to ‘RUNNING’.

At this point Meshlium will begin with the synchronization process creating the feature server and sending the sensor data to ArcGIS Online.

20.3.3. Check the Feature Server in ArcGIS Online

In order to check that the data is arriving to ArcGIS Online you should login in the platform: https://www.arcgis.com/home/signin.html

Click in the option named “Gallery” and you should see a new Feature Server with the name that you provided in the Meshlium configuration plugin:

Page 18: Libelium-ArcGIS Development Kit › ...start...arcgis_development_kit.pdf · The Meshlium integration with this platform creates a feature server in the user’s ArGIS online account

-18-

If you open the new content you should see a map where each layer is one sensor type of your project. Clicking in the table icon you will see displayed all the sensor data collected for this type of sensor.

.

At this point is it possible to use this feature server data to create new maps, collaborative apps or analytics making use of the complete array of services provided by ArcGIS Online.

20.4. Setting up MeshliumIn a web browser, you have to access to the Manager System with the IP your Meshlium has assigned.

If you are connected to the Meshlium WiFi Access Point, the IP will be 10.10.10.1. On the other hand, if you are connected to the Ethernet network, you will have to be able to identify the IP your Meshlium has assigned by DHCP in order to access to the Manager System. If your network does not offer DHCP service, Meshlium starts with a default IP (192.168.1.100)

The default credentials are:

• URL: http://<your_ip>/ManagerSystem • user: root • password: libelium

20.5. ESRI online service setupIn the Cloud Connector section, inside GIS, clicking on ArcGIS online tab, we can see the form in which we can configure all parameter to connect and send the information to the platform.

The parameters to setup are:

• esri_user: User for the ESRI ArcGIS online platform. • esri_password: Password for the ESRI user. • esri_service_name: Name of the service to send the data • records_per_sync: Number of data sent in every iteration of the service.

Click on the “Save” button to write this setup to the ArcGIS online servive.

Then you can start sending your data to ArcGIS online by pressing Start button. You will notice about it because the screen displays a “running” status.

If you want to stop this process just press “Stop” button. You can start/stop this process whenever you want.
