Welcome to Galveston! District 8 and the Houston Chapter cordially invite you to the D8 Spring 2018 Regional in Galveston!

LPA is “dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with dwarfism throughout their lives while celebrating with great pride Little People’s contribution to social diversity. LPA strives to bring solutions and global awareness to the prominent issues affecting individuals of short stature and their families.” National, Regional and Chapter events are designed to reinforce and support this mission!

A few important things to remember as you go through the registration packet:

• Register early and save – cut-off date April 6, 2018

• Name badges must be worn during the conference at all times

• Only one household per registration form

• Members in different districts are welcome to register and join us!

Conference Highlights: Meet and Greet Social, Moody Gardens, DAAA basketball/volleyball, site-seeing and dinner at the Pier, district meeting, kids room, and a variety of workshops.

District Meetings & Workshops 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. • District Meeting: Hear what is going on at the chapter, district, and national levels. All members are

encouraged to attend and learn what is next for LPA. • Parent Panel: Come join us for a parent meeting to discuss issues you may have in school, at home or in your

community. What are some of the challenges your children face? We will discuss these issues and other concerns you might have.

• Resume Bootcamp: Does your resume make a good first impression? When responding to a job opening, your resume will (in most cases) precede you. In today’s world, having a well-written resume is critical to landing that interview. How does today’s technology play a role in this? Come find out and learn a few interviewing techniques too!

Kid’s Room (ages 2-7) 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children will enjoy activities monitored by volunteers. Activities will include games, arts and crafts, and fun. Parents planning to attend a workshop can drop kids off at the kids room. Parents are not allowed to leave the hotel – a cell phone number must be left and if a diaper change is necessary, the parent will be called.

Tween & Teens 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Come join us for DAAA Basketball/Volleyball outside at the hotel courts during the parent workshops.

Sunday Farewell Check out time is 11:00 a.m. Have a safe trip back home!
