Elemental Space Clearing ® | Denise Linn 119 ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING® MUDRAS FOR SPACE CLEARING Mudras, which mean “seals” or “signs” in Sanskrit, are hand, finger, or body gestures used in many cultures across the world for a variety of purposes, including healing, yoga, and martial arts. They have been used for thousands of years. Mudras have enjoyed a rich history since their emergence in early Egypt. Following their early beginnings, the esoteric use of sacred hand gestures swept through the ancient world. They were used in Greece, Persia, India, China, and Japan. Particular hand gestures were used to actual- ize deep inner states. They allowed for an alignment of mind, body, and soul. Mudra healing gestures are also thought to ensure wellness or cures, and prevent disease. They are seen as a more powerful form of communication than the spoken word. They evoke thoughts and feelings, and guide energy flow through the body. Movements and hand gestures in ancient temple dancing, used to elevate higher consciousness, are also attributed to mudras. In Elemental Space Clearing ® , the mudras you use (in combination with your specially chosen es- sential oils) will use your body, your soul, and your intention and prayers as your space clearing tool. Traditionally, mudras and devotional hand gestures were used to deepen the energy you are creating. These graceful movements of your hands will be used to bless and seal the energy in a room during your clearings. In this training you will learn how to use mudras to implant and seal healing qualities into a living space. For example, one simple mudra is performed by placing your hands in a prayer position in front of your heart chakra, the center of your chest. Imagine that heart energy is filling your hands and then allow them to move this loving energy into the room. Another mudra is performed by placing your left hand in your right palm with your thumbs touching. Cup them together in front of the center of your abdomen and imagine that you are filling your hands with light from this area of your body (which is called the tanden or hara). This creates very powerful grounding energy. Now lift your hands and send this energy into the room. Often when you are “dancing a room,” you will form spontaneous mudras with your arms and hands. Realize that a deep wisdom is filling you at that time and that each hand gesture is calling in a needed energy into the room. Lesson Six: Mystic Mudras Lesson Six

ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING® MUDRAS FOR SPACE CLEARING

Mudras, which mean “seals” or “signs” in Sanskrit, are hand, finger, or body gestures used in many cultures across the world for a variety of purposes, including healing, yoga, and martial arts. They have been used for thousands of years. Mudras have enjoyed a rich history since their emergence in early Egypt. Following their early beginnings, the esoteric use of sacred hand gestures swept through the ancient world. They were used in Greece, Persia, India, China, and Japan. Particular hand gestures were used to actual-ize deep inner states.

In Elemental Space Clearing®, the mudras you use (in combination with your specially chosen es-sential oils) will use your body, your soul, and your intention and prayers as your space clearing tool.

UNIVERSAL GESTURES

Many ancient mudras have transposed to different cultures and continue to be recognized as universal symbols. For ex-ample, the “Veneration Mudra,” done by pressing palms together and holding them near chest with fingers pointed up, is used in Japan as a symbol for respect and worship as well as in India as a greet-ing. This is also the same gesture used in Christianity for praying. The “Fear Not Mudra,” displayed with an open hand, palm facing forward and fingers pointed up, arm held close to body, is a sign of peace, protection, and fearlessness. It is commonly known as a symbol for peaceful intentions. Native Americans have also used it as a friend-ly greeting.

SPACE CLEARING WITH MUDRAS

Mudras work well in space clearing because through them you can channel energy flows of the universe through your fluid move-ments in a powerful way because you are using your body as the tool. Just as mudras are used to align elements and energy within the body, they can be used to do the same in a space. In conjunction with essential oils and your positive intentions for space clear-ing, mudras are a powerful tool. The mudras you learn in Essential Space Clearing® came as a series of insights in my work with space clearing. Com-bining these specific body movements and gestures with essential oils (which have been rubbed between your hands and inhaled and with which there has been an attunement) creates powerful shifts of energy in a dwelling.

The following pages share the different Elemental Space Clearing® mudras and when to use them (also refer to videos and images on pages 145-149).

D. USE TOOLS, ELEMENTAL MUDRAS AND OILS

1. CIRCLE EACH ROOM WITH BLESSING TRAY AND YOUR TOOLSa. Feel and Dispel then energy in the room as needed. You can use mudras alone or you can use tools in addition to the mudras.

2. COMPLETE EACH ROOM WITH A FIGURE-EIGHT AND BLESSING (ALOUD OR SILENTLY)

DEDICATION (INVOCATION AND BLESSING)

A. RETURN TO ALTAR

1. LIGHT CANDLEa. “May Light and Blessings fill this Home” (or any blessing prayer that is in alignment with your client’s desires for their life)

2. USE “BLESSING ESSENTIAL OIL(S)”a. Three Drops in Hand for: Self, Others, Creatorb. Rub and Hold Intent of Dedication (hands in prayer position)

3. FOCUS ON CANDLE OR (OPTIONAL) LIGHT FIRE/CHARCOAL FOR BLESSING RESINS)a. Dip hands into smoke (24) (or above the candle flame)... up to heart (25) then out to home (26) 9 timesb. Say, “May this home be filled with...”

4. CALL SPIRIT/ANCESTORS/SPIRIT GUIDES/ ANGELSa. Hands in Prayer Position while Calling (27)

5. GIVE THANKS FOR THE BLESSINGS RECEIVEDa. Palms Up (28)

6. PUT ITEMS AWAY WITH GRACE AND EASEa. Cleanse Tools and Self afterwards.

AFTER CLEARING1. When you have completed the clearing, bless the home and the occupants. Imagine the space filled with light and love. You can use the same objects that you used for clearing or have another tool just for sanctifying the energy of the room. For example, you can say a blessing prayer and then ring your bell to magnify the energy of the prayer.

2. Leave flower offering with incense or scented candles in each room.

3. When complete with all the rooms, cleanse and bless each household member.

4. Complete ceremony by returning to the Blessing Altar and offering thanks for the help that was given and asking for blessing for all members of the home. This is the most impor-tant aspect of the clearing and must be done with reverence, respect, and devotion. The time and energy you spend at the Blessing Altar at the end of the ceremony will integrate the ceremonies that you have performed so there is less likely chance of upheaval after the clearing.

5. Wash hands with cool water all the way to the elbows. Shake a few times before you dry your hands.

PRESERVATION (GROUNDING, PROTECTION, AND SUSTAINING)As we learned in Lesson Two, to preserve the energy that you have created you might want to “plant a prayer.” Write a prayer or blessing on a piece of paper and bury it in your client’s favorite plant so that every time they water the plant they energize the prayer. You might also make a symbol or write a special word on a stone to place by the front door or in a plant.

Also, putting up a figurine of an angel or something that represents divine realms can help preserve the beautiful energy that you have created with your space clearing ceremony.

You can also create a Preservation Oil Blend in a Mister (and leave with client) or a small es-sential oil burner/diffuser (with oil blend for them to use) (optional).

Additionally, you can gift your client a stone (or stones) to leave in the house in special place to radiate energy. (optional)

As a reminder: Immediately after the clearing you should wash your hands, up to your el-bows, with cold water. Additionally, everyone, you and all the household members, should bathe within 6 hours after the space clearing. Bathing not only cleanses the body, it also refreshes the spirit. It is especially helpful to bath in salt water, either adding ½ pound of salt or Epsom salts to a bath. If only a shower is available to rub with salt and then shower ending with a cold rinse.

APPENDIX:THE CLIENT INTERVIEW

BUILDING RAPPORT WITH YOUR CLIENTS Rapport, or the development of a sympathetic and harmonious relationship between you and your client, will enable your client to be comfortable and at ease with you, making the clearing much more powerful. (The safer your client feels with you, the easier the energy will flow.) First impressions are vital to forming a successful client relationship. What takes place in the first face-to-face-meeting will establish an atmosphere of trust and comfort, which will make the later work you do together that much easier. The words you use are less important than how you say it. (Words are only 7% of communication, voice quality is 38%, and physiology is 55 %.) Rapport is created by an experience of commonal-ity and connection. Using rapport methods for manipulation creates tension, but if you do it from a place of love, it creates magic. 1. ESTABLISHING INITIAL RAPPORT

a. Privacy / ConfidentialityLet your client know that their conversations with you are absolutely private.

b. Honor their personal space and sense boundariesWhen you first meet a new client it is important to gauge his or her personal boundaries and adjust your body position and movements to fit within his or her comfort level.

Animals naturally have an “air bubble” surrounding them that constitutes their personal space. This space is determined by the how crowded the animals’ living conditions were when raised, and change in accordance with population density. A lion in Africa may have a personal territory of several miles, whereas one raised in captivity may have territory of only a few yards. Humans are very similar in this respect. A person who grew up in a crowded city is likely to have a much smaller “bubble” than a person who was raised in a rural community. Personal space also varies with culture.

Some of your clients may have much smaller personal boundaries than your own, so you may have to compromise a little of your personal comfort in order to make them feel com-fortable and connected. Remember that it isn’t about your personal space but theirs.Notice the subtle cues in body and facial expression that are revealed when the client’s personal space has been entered.

c. Reading Body Language(1) Each individual displays his or her emotions in a different way. However, there is common body language that may help you identify how your client is feeling.

(2) Here are a few signals people commonly use (consciously or subconsciously) to express what they are feeling:

Openness: palms exposed, fingers spread, arms held away from bodyDisapproval: head turned to side, slightly down. Eyes looking away or giving sideways

Page 35: Lesson Six Lesson Six: Mystic Mudrashayhouse.akamaized.net/download/hayhouse/elementalspaceclearing/... · Elemental Space Clearing ® | Denise Linn 119 ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING®

Elemental Space Clearing® | Denise Linn 153

glances, frowning (eyebrows, mouth turned down), arms crossedGenerally Negative/Nervous/Defensive: body turned to side, legs crossed, arms crossed, holding object (notebook, purse) to chest or clutching in lap

(3) Find or look for areas of commonalityFind connections of geography, home, aesthetics, collections, etc.Find connections with similar work, hobbies, or experiencesFind commonalities in your life with the things your clients are expressing. Often these may be sharing stories about children, grandchildren, etc. Another area of commonality can be sharing injuries, illnesses, personal challenges, dif-ficulties from the past, etc.

This sharing should be brief on your part – you don’t want to take over the conversation. When you share, use brushstrokes rather than the whole painting.

2. USING VOICE / LANGUAGE TO BUILD RAPPORT

a. Listen compassionatelyb. Give sincere complimentsc. Be aware of your client’s reaction. For example, notice if they feel overwhelmed or uncom-fortable by the compliment. d. Use your language consciously. Be confident of the positive results that will occur.

Consider the effects of one word or phrase over the other. Why is one more empowering than another?

“I will try to clear the energy of your home” versus “I will clear the energy of your home.”“You might find your home feeling lighter…” versus “you will find that your home feels lighter after the clearing.”“I hope this works for you” versus “You will notice the results begin as soon as the clear-ing is complete.”

e. Use client’s name in conversation f. Repeat back client’s words

This offers clarity, and it can help people find their own answers because the natural re-sponse when you repeat back their words is to offer more information.Creates “loop of awareness,” which lets the client know he is heard.

g. Ask follow-up questionsh. Use phrases such as, “Tell me more about….” “Hmmm, Ahh, Yes, Oh I see”

3. PHYSICAL/ FULL BODY/ INTERACTIVE RAPPORT TECHNIQUES a. Mirroring/ Matching

Recent discoveries in research explain how and why modeling and mimicking behavior works to connect people. In a system they called mirror neurons; it was observed that when a person performs a task a certain pattern of cells fired in its brain. The same neuron pattern fires in the brain of a person who is just observing the action that was performed. Because our brains work this way, it makes us feel like we understand the person better, have more empathy, and commonality with them.

When we see someone doing something, our own brain cells fire the same neurons as if we had actually done the action ourselves. The more that this occurs, the more rapport there is. As a result, we feel we understand the other person better, and have more em-pathy and commonality with them. By consciously mirroring your clients (which you are probably doing subconsciously already), they feel safer and more comfortable with you.

b. Mirror / Match:Client’s Body MovementsExamples: crossed legs, leaning in, leaning away, mirroring eye expressions (i.e. eyes open wider, glancing down), and copying gestures. This, of course, should be done with subtleness to be effective.Research shows that two people who agree, but mis-mirror each other will, in the end, dis-agree. Mirror/Sustain/Initiate means after you mirror someone, then sustain it for a while, while creating an affinity, you can lead or initiate movement or the energy flow.

(1) Match Tone of VoiceModulate your tone and pitch of voice to match theirs, whether it is soft, loud, slow, quick, high, or low.

(2) Match Energy LevelWhat is the energy level? Excited? Happy? Sad? Energized? Worried? Mirroring your client’s energy level acknowledges, supports, validates, and accepts where they are in the moment. You can then begin to subtly shift your own energy level (they will follow) so that the energy level supports the work you are doing.

(3) Match Touch/Handshake/HugMatch a strong handshake with a strong handshakeA soft handshake with a soft handshakeIf you hug, be aware of matching ... is it too long, too hard, too soft, too brief, hips in, hips out?

(4) Match BreathingObserve and match the client’s breath. Are they breathing shallowly, from their chest? Deep, belly breathing? Breathing quickly, or slowly? Begin by matching what they are doing and then begin a slow subtle shift to help your client relax more fully. For ex-ample, begin to breathe a little more slowly and deeply.

(5) Match Eye ContactHave a heightened awareness of what is happening with that person when you look into his or her eyes. An example is looking away when the client looks away. If they peer at you intently you can peer at them intently.

(6) Match Head PositionNodding when you agree can let people know you are with them, attentive, encourag-ing. It assists them with feeling safe, encouraging them to open up and share more.

(7) Matching the tilt (or no-tilt) of a person’s head can help create rapport. Tilting your head to one side has different meanings and effects based on context and can be very effective if used consciously in the right circumstances. The impression it gives is that you are not a threat.

It can seem that you are really listening to your client. It can make a scared/vulnerable client feel safe and put her/him at ease.In other circumstances head tilting can be seen as submissive /submitting/beta dog. If you want/need to be more authoritative to match the energy of your client, keep your head straight.

4. NON-PHYSICAL RAPPORT METHODS

a. Visualize loving energy flowing between you, before and during your session and/or inter-view.b. Visualize a radiant symbol between you and the client.c. Have your soul speak to his or her soul before your session.

SPACE CLEARING MEDITATIONS

Although space clearing can stand on its own to cleanse home energy, you can also do any of the following meditations (inner journeys) before a clearing to deepen the experience or gain added insight.

1. Embark on a creative visualization meditation to meet and connect with the Spirit of the House. Ask what is needed for this home and for its residents.

2. Journey to house … fly over it and see through the roof and walls to sense and see energy within, under, around, and above it; then call upon angelic beings and earth spirits to cleanse and infuse home with energy and life force.

3. Journey to earth beneath ... talk to Spirit of the Earth and the land beneath the home (no-tice sink holes and underground water). See if the home is connected and integrated with the earth, or if is just sitting on the land, but not connected. A balanced home is one is which the Spirit of the Earth has grown up into the house and the house has become a part of the earth.

4. Journey to the past and how the past affects the energy of the home … “look” at prede-cessor energy and residual energy [see next section for more information on predecessor energy]. Even go to the far past, before the houses were there and back even before people were there. What animals roamed there? What plants and trees grew in the area? (All of this influences the energy of the space.) You can also call upon the Over-Souls of past and present animals, plants, trees, and stones to bring balance into the current home.

5. Journey to the future and see what kind of energy the home will need in the future to stay in a balance. Sometimes what is needed in the present will be different than what is needed in the future. Ask the Spirit of the Future what will sustain the energy of the home in the years ahead.

Journey to the higher selves of each individual and ask each one what would be for their highest good regarding their home.

ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING®: ENERGIES COMMONLY MISTAKEN FOR GHOSTS

There are a multitude of types of energies you can easily clear using Elemental Space Clearing®. Although this course does not certify you to release earthbound spirits and ghosts, it does pro-vide you with the tools you need to clear a myriad of energies commonly believed to be ghosts. Please do not attempt to clear ghosts and earthbound spirits without additional in-depth training. There are many good reasons that I say this. If you are interested in going deeper, you might want to consider training as an Interior Alignment® practitioner or taking the Seven Star Blessing® cer-tification course from an Interior Alignment® Trainer that will give you a depth of training on how to clear ghosts and will take you deeper into your space clearing journey InteriorAlignment.com.

Here is some information about how to discern what is and isn’t a ghost:

1. Predecessor – Energy from a previous occupant—over time their energy permeated the space. For example, if the person who lived in the house died in the house of a brain tumor and the new occupants begin to have severe headaches that they never had before, this

Page 38: Lesson Six Lesson Six: Mystic Mudrashayhouse.akamaized.net/download/hayhouse/elementalspaceclearing/... · Elemental Space Clearing ® | Denise Linn 119 ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING®

Elemental Space Clearing® | Denise Linn156

might be predecessor energy. Most likely, this is not a ghost.

2. Residual – Energy felt in room after intense emotions (i.e. an argument, deep sadness, etc.). Someone might sleep in a bed and feel sad because the previous person who slept there felt sad.

3. Elemental – Energy from the elemental kingdom—fairies, elms, and gnomes, etc.—who may be angry or disgruntled. You might be walking in the woods and suddenly feel agitated for no apparent reason. The reason for this might be that the elementals in that area are not happy that you are in their space, or maybe there has been some disturbances (logging or construction, etc.) that is disturbing them in general. Alternatively, you might also encounter joyous elementals. Almost always, elemental energy is in nature and not in home structures. Howver, there are exceptions to this.

4. Astral – You may meet astral beings when you are astral traveling. They are non-physical, subtle energy life forms that exist in the astral plane. There are a wide variety of these beings. Some are luminous and have a positive nature. Some are heavy or negative. These dense be-ings are called lower astral beings. For the most part, astral beings seem to have their own agendas, like to keep to themselves, and do not like being bothered. (You will almost never find an angel or a spirit guide in any of the astral levels. The vibration is too dense for them.)

There are an immense variety of beings in the astral plane. They were never human beings. In many ways they seem like creatures similar to creatures in the sea. They range from joyful, to helpful, to playful, to neutral, to mischievous, to mean-spirited . . . to downright nasty. The astral plane can be likened to the ocean in which there are vast variety of critters, such as dolphins, whales, sharks, angel fish, jellyfish, turtles, sea urchins, octopus, bivalves, etc. Some of the ocean creatures seem pleasant and even amusing, such as a dolphin or a seal. Some are harmless, like sea turtles. Some are only harmful when disrupted, like an eel. Some can be harmful without doing it on purpose, such as stingrays. And others may seem menacing all the time, like sharks, even if they don’t intend it. The astral level is filled with all categories of beings.

As a space clearer it’s valuable to know about the astral plane, however -unless you are an avid astral traveler in your dreams - normally you won’t have much interface in your normal life with these beings. However, the reason it’s good to know about astral beings is because there are times when lower astral beings are attracted to strong emotions, and they can “glue” themselves or attach themselves to a person or a place on the earth plane.

For example, if you go into a bar and when you walk out you feel dirty, it could be that you have gotten an astral attachment. If you go shopping and then you have a terrible dream. It could be an astral attachment that you picked up from the shopping center. Often there are astral beings in hospitals, prisons, and mental institutions. Astral beings have a kind of consciousness and rarely - but sometimes - an awareness of what’s around them, which is why they are often confused with ghosts. But they are not ghosts.

5. Energy Echoes – Sometimes, when you walk into a place, it may feel like there are ghosts, but actually you have (partially) walked into a time warp. There are times, places, people, and events that can cause a spontaneous thinning of the veil between the present, past, and fu-ture. When this occurs everyone (who is sensitive to energy) can feel this. For example, many people may hear the battle cries from an ancient battlefield. But these are not usually ghosts.

Page 39: Lesson Six Lesson Six: Mystic Mudrashayhouse.akamaized.net/download/hayhouse/elementalspaceclearing/... · Elemental Space Clearing ® | Denise Linn 119 ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING®

Elemental Space Clearing® | Denise Linn 157

Appendix

What is heard is a kind of echo from the past that everyone is picking up on. These do not need to be cleared. (However, you may be called to close the portal.)

6. Karmic Residue – Sometimes there is only one individual who is aware of energy imprints from the past. It’s like there is a veil between the part of you that is in the past life and the part of you is here. For example, your client might walk into a place where in a past life he was in battle and his head was bashed and now he has a horrible headache and memories arising. These images and feelings are not from ghosts. Your client is re-experiencing what happened in that life. Or your client might be in a similar situation to one that he or she experienced in a past life and suddenly the feelings and images from that life arise. Again, this is not a ghost and doesn’t need space clearing.

7. Telepathic Messages From the Dead - Sometimes a person will “see” someone who has recently passed on (for example, at the end of the bed) but these are not ghosts. In a way they are messengers. These are usually messages from those who have passed on, but have something that they want to say to someone they loved. Often it’s just to let the loved one know that they are okay. Or, sometimes they will show themselves to notify a loved one of their passing, especially if they are a long distance away. These are very common events. These spirits usually appear shortly after death to the people they love. They are aware of their death and they bring a message to comfort their loved ones to say they are well and to not grieve for them. They usually appear briefly and only one time.

8. Telepathic Messages From the Living - Another kind of telepathic message can come from someone who is living. The message/energy they send is so strong that it can feel like a ghost. They can either be trying to reach an individual and consciously sending energy. Or, they can be subconsciously sending strong emotions (either negative or positive) toward your client. Sometimes protection/shielding is required.

9. Crisis Apparitions - Sometimes there is a powerful psychic projection during a traumatic event. This usually only happens only once. And this usually only occurs with a close relative or a very close friend. A mother sees her son at the exact time he is in a car accident. A wife sees husband at the moment he has a heart attack. The person that appears is not always dead. A soldier in Iraq will appear to his mother, she will call and find out that she has been shot and is in the hospital but is going to be okay.

10. Object Projections – Sometimes strong energy radiates from objects that have absorbed psychic energy, which then projects out to people in the area. (An example of this is the crys-tal skull that would be locked in a room and then the next day the room would be in huge disarray. Papers would be strewn throughout the room) This is a kind of residual energy and is not ghosts.

11. Energy Tape-Loops – These are energy imprints created by a strong event. They can play back over and over again like a tape loop. They are sometimes called “residual hauntings” or “spirit recordings.” Sometimes they re-play for an eternity. Maybe someone was very angry and this energy continues to radiate into the space until it is cleared. Sometimes it can be an annual event that plays back annually at a particular time of year. Maybe it’s a soldier looking out of a window in fear, or at the site of an accident. Also a traumatic moment leaves an indel-ible mark on the building or area. This kind of so-called haunting is only a fragment or portion of the actual event. This is not a ghost.

Page 40: Lesson Six Lesson Six: Mystic Mudrashayhouse.akamaized.net/download/hayhouse/elementalspaceclearing/... · Elemental Space Clearing ® | Denise Linn 119 ELEMENTAL SPACE CLEARING®

Elemental Space Clearing® | Denise Linn158

12. Psychic Projections - Sometimes a sensitive person will project images into a space as a response to residual telepathic energy in an area. (For example, it’s possible for some people to project images on to photo film.) Additionally, some people will unconsciously create a “ghost” psychic projection to satisfy their emotional needs.

13. Poltergeist – From the German words poltern and geist. Poltern means “noisy” and “mis-chievous.” Geist means “spirit.” Poltergeist activity includes loud sounds such as tapping or banging or displaced objects. Poltergeist is an uncontrollable psycho-kinetic energy from people with unresolved issues or suppressed emotions and is almost always generated from a teenager (or someone just entering puberty) that is emotionally suppressed.

A poltergeist differs from a ghost – Ghosts are most often perceived at night while poltergeist activity can happen any time. Ghosts are associated with a place. As a rule, ghosts don’t change locations. Poltergeists are associated with a person and the activity follows the person if he or she moves. As a suggestion, if house has poltergeist activity, suggest therapy with a qualified psychologist to address issues or emotions. This is NOT a case for space clearing or ghost clearing.

14. Bi-Location – This is the spirit of a living person appearing to someone in a different location than where the living person actually is physically. The person whose spirit is seen is usually sleeping or meditating and usually unaware of what is happening. This is not very common. However, highly spiritually attuned people, shamans etc. can perform this at will.

15. Psychological Ghost Phenomena – This is an emotional projection, usually from a living person who is in emotional pain. For example, a grieving widow will insist that her dead hus-band is with her because she needs him to be there. She needs the comfort of knowing that his ghost is with her. She may subconsciously leave a door open and then later come upon it and declare that it is the ghost of her husband. You must be very careful not to disavow someone’s reality; however, these “ghosts” are not real in any sense; they are just the conjur-ing of powerful imaginations.

16. Aliens – sometimes an alien encounter is confused with a ghost encounter.

17. Angels, Spirit Guides, Spirit Guardians, Ancestors, Spirit of the Land, etc. – If a person has a visitation from the higher spiritual realm of a land spirit, but if it’s an usual experience for that person, sometimes he or she becomes frightened and thinks that it was a ghost.

18. Bad Feng Shui - Sometimes what is simply “bad feng shui’ can create a feeling of stagna-tion or heaviness, such as a dark, cramped space. But this is not a ghost.

WHAT IS A GHOST? A ghost is someone who died and either they don’t know they are dead because of a traumatic death, or because they are attached to the earth plane. This usually occurs because of a strong attachment to a person or an addiction. (The addiction could be to food, drugs, or alcohol. The craving is so strong that they have trouble leaving the earth plane.)

In other words these beings have become stuck between this plane of existence and the next. For the most part, the ghost doesn’t know that its dead. It’s caught in a kind of limbo.

GHOSTS:a. Usually appear again and again and are seen by a number of peopleb. Can be “seen” as a mist or more solidc. Associated with a particular place

RECOGNIZING GHOSTS

Sometimes experiences that occur without any physical source or underlying cause that may in-dicate a ghost are:

1. sudden coolness2. damp3. heavy feeling4. difficult to breathe 5. depressed6. lights go on and off7. doors open and close8. sometimes a light touch9. most common is just a “feeling”10. unaccounted emotions in the place where the ghost resides11. rarely, but sometimes there are smells associated with the ghost (sometimes even a sul-phur/egg smell)

If you don’t actually “see” a ghost, but feel that there is one there (and you have eliminated all of the other things that are mistaken for ghosts) trust your feelings.

“SEEING” GHOSTS

When we talk about a ghost that is “seen” or “heard,” this doesn’t necessarily mean through your physical eyes or ears. First of all, remember that our perception of the world around us occurs be-cause our senses—eyes, ears, nose, etc.—gather information and then relay it to our brain. This information is then screened and enhanced by the brain and mind according to our beliefs and our need for survival. The way we “see” the world—our perception—resides not in the senses but in the brain. For example, hallucinations, are superimposed images, sounds, smells, etc. that are added to (or alternatively, blocked or deleted from) the data received by the senses.

In the same way, the energy field of a ghost somehow contributes information to the other data received by the senses. This is then all integrated into what our brain perceives. In other words, the energy field of ghosts provides our brains with extra information necessary to “see” them.

Additionally, there are some people that have a fuller spectrum of “seeing” that allows them to see auras, elementals, and ghosts.

SIMPLE CEREMONY FOR PROTECTION FOR A HOME

If your client is concerned that they have a ghost, but you haven’t had further training to clear the ghosts, here is a simple protection ceremony that can be helpful for soothing the energy (in addi-tion to space clearing), even if the ghost isn’t released. It can bring a bit of solace to your clients, until the ghost goes to the light. Intention is key on this ceremony.

Elemental Space Clearing® | Denise Linn160

1. Start at front door.

2. Relax and center yourself.

3. Light and hold a candle.

4. Look into the flame of the candle and imagine the light expanding and enveloping you in an orb of light.

5. As you hold the candle near the center of your chest, infuse it with love. Move the candle upwards to the heavens. As you move it down in a straight line in front of you, imagine bring-ing light into your home and say, “Safe, protected, and well.” Return the candle to the center of your chest. Now move the candle to the left and then move it in a horizontal line to your right and say, “Safe, protected, and well.” The vertical and horizontal lines form a cross that is sacred and protective.
