    Learning Outcomes

    By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

    i. Acquire vocabulary and understand the

    meaning of words and phrases in context.

    ii. Listen and enjoy stories, fables, other tales of

    imagination and fantasy and also predict

    outcomes.

    iii. Read and understand phrases, sentences,

    paragraphs, and whole texts.

    Procedure:

    1. The teacher will distribute the text (The GreedyFox) to the students.

    2. The teacher will read the text aloud to the class.In the middle part of the story, the teacher willask the students about the ending.

    3. Then, the teacher will read the text again and letthe students repeat after him or her.

    4. Students will be asked about the charactersfound in the story.

    5. The teacher shows a list of noun found in thetext to the students as well as the picturesrespectively.

    6. Explanation of some complex words found in

    the text will be given by the teacher to the

    students. (E.g. Squeezed, moaned, twitched)

    7. The teacher distributes the worksheets to the

    students and ask them to answer it.

    8. The correct answers will be given once the

    students finished answering the questions.

    The Greedy Fox

    It was deep mid-winter and Freddie the Foxwas very hungry. "Where am I going to findsomething to eat?" he moaned to

    himself. But, as he passed a big oak tree, hisnose twitched. He could smell somethingdelicious. Inside a hollow in the trunk wassome bread and meat that a shepherd had left

    there. Freddie crept inside and he ate thefood. "Marvelous," he said, licking his lipswhen he had finished the very last crumb.

    But what do you think happened? He was now

    so fat he couldn't get out again! He squeezed.But, it was no good. He was stuck fast. "Tee-hee-

    hee," laughed a passing bee. "You'll just have to

    stay there until you get thin again." By the timeFreddie got out he was hungry as before!
