Leonardo Da Vinci:Scientist, Artist, Inventor!

Born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy.

While growing up he loved to study nature - plants, the body, the mechanics of flight - and applyed what he saw in his art.

His drawings are often used in textbooks today as they are so detailed.

He watched doctors perform autopsies so that he could study human anatomy. He later began dissections on his own and carefully sketched everything that he saw.

The Inventor

Modelled his flying machines after his studies of bird wings. They never actually flew, but they were highly regarded!
