LEC-GEN1 IP address setting procedure

1. Connect the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit to a PC STEP 1.1: Connect port CN3 of the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit to the LAN port of your PC, using a CAT5 LAN cable. Turn the power ON to the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit.

2. Set the IP address of the PC to match the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit STEP 2.1: Open active [Network Connections].

STEP 2.2: Right click on [Local Area Connection] and select [Properties].

STEP 2.3: Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] and The PC is usually set to “Obtain an IP click [Properties]. address automatically”.

STEP 2.4: STEP 2.5: Select [Use the following IP address]. Set the IP address of the PC to [192.168.0.25]. [Left click] inside the “Subnet mask” text box.

Note) Do not use the same IP address the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit has been set to. (Default factory setting is “192.168.0.1” or “192.168.250.2” depending on firmware version.)

The following “Caution!” may appear. Click [OK].

STEP 2.6: The “Subnet mask” will be STEP 2.7: Click [Close] to exit the [Local automatically set to “255.255.255.0”. Area Connection Properties] Window. Click [OK] to complete the settings.

3. Change the IP address of the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit STEP 3.1: Start [Internet Explorer].

STEP 3.2: 1. In the address bar type in the current IP address of the gateway unit. 2. Click “Refresh” to establish a connection to the gateway unit. (Default address: 192.168.0.1)

STEP 3.3: The gateway unit user interface will open when the connection between the PC and the gateway unit has been established. If the connection cannot be established check that the LAN cable is appropriate and then try with another IP address for example by changing the last digit of the address to a higher number.

STEP 3.4: Select [Network interface].

STEP 3.5: Select [Network configuration].

STEP 3.6: The “Network configuration” window shows the current settings.

STEP 3.7: 1. To change the IP address of the gateway unit, type in the new address in the “IP address” box. This example shows IP address “192.168.0.5”.) 2. Turn the DHCP function off by un-ticking the “DHCP” check box. 3. Click [Store settings].

STEP 3.8: Turn OFF the power from the LEC-GEN1 gateway unit, and turn it back ON again. The new IP address will now be effective.
