Accessible Learning Gateway is a free and convenient way to access up-to-date training that is relevant to your role. It is designed to be simple to use and "exible enough to !t round your busy schedule for all your ongoing training needs.

Relevant Learning Gateway provides comprehensive tutorials on core investment topics such as introductions to equities and !xed income, to more advanced economic and technical analysis, risk management and asset allocation. It also o$ers business-skills tutorials such as e$ective management and sales techniques, as well as regulatory-related courses. CPD Learning Gateway’s tutorials are provided by Intuition, our education partner, and are recognised as suitable for CPD by a number of professional bodies. Accreditation of training is essential for advisers to attain their annual SPS, and Learning Gateway is an ideal facility for this. Tutorials are accredited for CPD by a number of professional bodies including:

Measurable Every adviser must provide evidence of structured professional development activities. One of the key bene!ts of Learning Gateway is that it provides a record of your achievements, including courses undertaken, time spent in training and the results of your assessments. Individual CPD records are stored digitally and certi!cates can also be printed at any time. This provides a transparent audit trail of your training, without you having to worry about record keeping.

How Learning Gateway Works

You can choose as many tutorials as you like from our ‘Catalogue’ section. You can also select the level you deem most appropriate to your needs, from introductory or intermediate to advanced.

Simply log on to www.standardlifeinvestments.com/training and select from the comprehensive catalogue of tutorials.

Your selected tutorials move into the ‘My learning’ section of Learning Gateway, which is a personalised page that re"ects your speci!c learning interests and requirements.

When you are ready, launch any of your tutorials to begin learning. You can stop and save at any point, and all training time accrued will be recorded.

On completion of each tutorial, there is a short assessment, which allows you to measure and record your learning outcomes. Your assessment score and status is shown in the ‘My Progress’ section.

CPD certi!cates are stored on Learning Gateway and can be printed o$ for each tutorial that you complete so that you can maintain your own records.

These records of achievement provide essential evidence of training, and advisers also receive a personal and #lly-accredited CPD record, all of which contribute to the FSA’s ‘structured learning’ requirement.
