English: WritingWriting - Journal - One Paragraph/DayLI: To create a primary source of information.SC: I can make daily journal entries documenting personal experiences.

Continue your journal of what’s happening in your life at the moment. Try to find out some facts and statistics not only about COVID 19 but also about the restrictions that have been placed upon NSW residents, Australians and people around the world. We are living through a moment of time that will go down in history. Your grandchildren may learn about this in school! Your journal will be a primary source of information for them. Consider the following prompts: What did the Australian Government announce today? Does it impact your life? Why or why not? What is open in your neighbourhood? What is closed? How is today different from yesterday for you, your family, our nation, the world? What does your family need today that you might not have enough of, or be able to acquire, in the future?

Week 4: Big WriteLI: To engage a reader by writing an effective introduction and conclusion.SC: I can write an engaging introduction and conclusion to persuade a reader.

Topic: Reading a book is better than digital reading.Task: View the persuasive language poster and the persuasive introduction and conclusion poster. You may like to use the persuasive writing scaffold to help you plan your writing. Look at the checklist before you begin and use the PEEL strategy to help guide you.

Use your understanding of the structure of an exposition AND the feedback you were given from Week 2’s Big Write to write an exposition on the topic above. Focus on including an engaging introduction and conclusion and writing full paragraphs (at least three sentences for each paragraph).

Remember to focus on using wow words (high level vocabulary) and effective openers. You can either write this on a piece of paper or type it.

Friday’s Big Write EditEdit your text for spelling and punctuation errors and improve your vocabulary and openers. Highlight VCOP. Complete the checklist on GC (this one will allow you to make your own copy). Once you have finished, upload your Big Write and checklist to GC (if you typed it) or Seesaw (if you wrote it on paper).
