PRS VOCABULARY DIRECTIONS: Eng 10 and Adv. Eng 10 PORTER 2016-2017 DIRECTIONS: For each unit, you will make 10 CARDS MINIMUM PER UNIT. Pick 10 PREFIXES, ROOTS, OR SUFFIXES that you do not know (or that you are the least familiar with). CARDS SHOULD CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING: 1. Prefix, Root, Suffix 2. Picture that shows/describes the meaning of the P/R/S 3. Unit ______ 4. Definition of PRS 5. A NEW word Definition 6. Sentences with new word and context clue FRONT BACK The word in the sentence must be highlighted or underlined. The CONTEXT CLUE in the sentence should be highlighted in another color or double underlined. Words should be unfamiliar, new words that can be incorporated into your daily vocabulary. (Words should not be obvious or basic, nor should they be scientific words that you would never use.) Save all of your cards. Consider color-coding your cards per unit. An O ring is one effective way to keep your cards together. YOU MAY ONLY USE ONE OF MY WORDS ON THE WORKSHEET!
