about the speaker: James Doyle is the Congressional Affairs Liaison - Director Military, Aviation and Government for Emerson Embedded Computing. His role includes daily interaction with the Us Congress and senate, leaders in the Department of Defense, Homeland security and Intelligence Agencies. He is responsible for the pri-mary business development lead for these market segments. James has lobbied for many high profile Military programs including, Future Combat systems, The Zumwalt Destroyer among others. He is highly regarded in the embedded computing industry and considered one of the leading authorities on program funding and the changing face of Washington DC under the Obama administration. James is a highly coveted keynote speaker at many industry and public venues and has been invited to talk around the globe (London, Germany, Israel and across the UsA). He was recently a leading panel member for the "Virginia High Tech Council" which included senior leaders from Microsoft, Google and Walt Disney. Previous to his appointment with Emerson, James was the Vice President of Business Development and Corporate strategy for Hybricon Corporation. We will look at various static analysis techniques (standards compliance, complexity analysis, run-time error analysis) and dynamic analysis tech-niques (functional, system and unit test, structural coverage analysis, modeling) and show how applying the results of both static and dynamic analysis provides far more value than either one alone. key to this increased value is traceability: the ability to apply results of these various analysis techniques to requirements at both high and low levels throughout the development lifecycle creates actionable status data usable by management to assess embedded software projects. Finally, we will look at methods of automating the various analyses and establishing the traceability of analysis results at various phases within the development lifecycle.
