To provide the foundations needed for effective and influential leadership in the property development industry.

Learning outcomes

The ability to be an influential leader requires insight, an ability to connect with people and to make progress. This program helps leaders do this well, in a way that feels genuine, with the support of other industry peers along the way.

Upon completion of this course you will have gained valuable insights into effective leadership, and strategically mapped out the steps needed to grow into a successful and meaningful leader. With a focus on self-awareness and the importance of finding a leadership style authentic to you, you will learn to challenge unproductive patterns of thinking and behaviour, and how to realise your full leadership potential.

Self Leadership

The self leadership component of this course focusses on how to let go of old ways of operating, and how to commit to more effective ways that align with high performance and excellence.

Before we can influence others, we must be able to influence ourselves. Self-awareness and self-regulation are pivotal foundations to any leadership role. The way we naturally think, feel and behave is the foundation to knowing our strengths, managing around our weaknesses and understanding how our brain impacts our leadership. When we understand these foundations based in neuroscience, we are better able to understand others and our impact on them.

• Understanding the principles of neuroscience to help us navigate through challenges and limitations

• Establishing boundaries and understanding the nature of confidentiality as a leader• Developing our natural talents, knowing our strengths and managing around our

weaknesses • Building emotional intelligence using a science based approach• Building and maintaining a supportive team• Understanding how to be inclusive, resourceful and accountable• Establishing the necessary mindset to succeed A full day workshop will be held on self leadership, on Monday 3 July 2017, 9am-4pm.

Leading Others

The leading others component of the program focusses on increasing one’s influence and ability to lead a in a way that is authentic.

How we connect and resonate with others is critical to leadership success. Participants learn how to adopt a strategic yet authentic approach with stakeholders, as well as how to develop a clear, engaging and influential personal brand.

• Increasing your visibility and impact by determining where you add value and how you contribute to your organisation and industry

• Building trust and gaining buy-in both inside and outside your organisation • Discovering your own strategic and influential leadership approach and style• Developing an effective personal brand and being clear on your desired reputation• The importance of your values and how they can guide your leadership, decision making

and relationships

A full day workshop will be held on leading others, on Monday 4 September 2017, 9am-4pm.

Leaders need to be able to communicate in an authentic and genuine way through listening without judgment, being able to express themselves transparently yet tactfully, as well as engaging those who ‘aren’t like us’.

The influential leadership component of the program helps participants discover how great leaders use conversations to connect, develop and motivate others.

Belinda Brosnan is an expert in influential leadership and the 2015 Telstra Business Women’s Awards Start-Up winner for QLD. She has led strategy for more than 60 well-known brands and has more than 20 years in senior leadership roles including News, Macquarie Bank, Urban Pacific, AVJennings and Mirvac.

Belinda is passionate about mindset, influence and leadership and works with teams and leaders tochallenge their thinking and focus so they can collaborate effectively, make better decisions, andbe influential leaders through change and uncertainty.

At Mirvac in Western Australia Belinda was responsible for projects worth more than $1.5 billion inrevenue, 32 direct reports, and budgets in excess of $15 million per annum. Having experienced the unique pressures and challenges such roles can bring, she can genuinely say, “I understand” because she’s been there.

Another integral part of Belinda’s life is her volunteer and global investor role with The Hunger Project Australia. She has led Leadership Immersion programs to Africa for The Hunger Project and is leading another in 2017 for entrepreneurs. She is a professional certified coach (PCC) with the ICF, a Gallup Strengths Certified Coach and graduated with distinction from the NeuroLeadership Institute.
