LN Student-Athletes of the Week

Jamie Jones (Cheer), Carol Ludington (XC),

Jalen Ray (XC), and Julio Valdez (XC)

Jamie had a busy weekend, she cheered at the football team on Friday night at NC, competed at Eastern Hancock on Saturday where the team finished as runner-up, and then volunteered

with the golf outing on Sunday. Thank you Jamie! Carol led the XC team to championship at the Eagle Invitational in Brown County, posting the 16th fastest 5000m time in LN history! Julio and

Jalen went 2-3 overall to lead the Wildcat boys team to a championship at the Eagle Invitational. Great job Wildcats!

Team Reports Cheerleading: The cheerleaders had a busy weekend, first supporting the LN football team on Friday night at North Central and then going to Eastern Hancock the next morning for their first cheer competition of the year. The team had a great day, finishing in 2nd place at the Royal Invitational! Great job, Wildcats! Pictures courtesy of Mrs. Ampil.

Football: The Wildcats (2-2, 0-2 MIC) played another close MIC game, this week against North Central. It was a back and forth game all night, with North Central pulling away in the 4th quarter to take the win 42-27. Bishr Jones ran for 186 yards on 21 carries for 3 touchdowns. Donaven McCulley threw for 185 yards and a TD strike to Omar Cooper, who caught 5 passes for 122 yards. The defense was led by Romaro Warren with 11 tackles, Larry Harris and Steve Savage both registered 6 tackles each. The team will travel to Carmel on Friday night to take on the Greyhounds for the Bill Duke Pigskin Trophy in the MIC Game of the Week. Kickoff is 7:07pm. Pictures courtesy of Mrs. Ampil.

Cross Country: The cross country teams both won the Eagle Invitational in Brown County on Saturday! Carol Ludington placed 5th overall and ran the 16th fastest 5000m time in LN history! Julio Valdez and Jalen Ray placed 2nd and 3rd respectively to led the Wildcats to the team championship. Girls Golf: The girls golf team competed at the Marion County championships, with senior Caroline Salvas finishing as county runner-up, posting a 78 to the lead the Wildcats. The team will play Fishers on Tuesday, LC on Wednesday, Tech on Thursday before playing in the Sectional this weekend. Good luck, ladies!

Boys Soccer: The Cats were busy last week, playing five games. They played Carmel tough in a 3-0 loss, tied a very good Pike team, 2-2, and played three games in the Great Midwest Classic against three teams from Illinois. The team will be back in action at home this week against Lawrence Central on Tuesday for the “Lawrence Derby” traveling trophy and will host Center Grove on Thursday. Big shout out to Colm Onceacre, picking up 4 assists and a goal this week!

Girls Soccer: The Wildcats (3-6-1, 3-3 MIC) lost a pair of close games to Pike and Heritage Christian, both by a score of 2-1, but rebounded in a big way by picking up a MIC win over Lawrence Central, beating the Bears 2-1 and retained the Lawrence Derby traveling trophy. Goals were scored by Emma Cox and Princess Magadan. The Cats will host Center Grove on Wednesday and then will travel to the Kickin’ 4 Cancer Invitational in Greenfield on Saturday.

Boys Tennis: The team went 1-1 last week. The team lost to Mt. Vernon 4-1 and had a great win against Lawrence Central, taking the match 3-2. All tied up 2-2, Kyle Manner at #1 came back from 1-0 deficit to win two sets in a row to take the match and give the Cats the deciding point for the team win! The netters will play at Westfield on Tuesday before competing in the MIC conference championships this weekend.

Volleyball: The Wildcats (5-8, 3-0 MIC) went 1-2 last week. The team lost to Fishers and Cathedral but picked up a MIC win over Warren Central. The girls will play Carmel on Tuesday night at home and will host a JV Invitational on Saturday.

LN Golf Outing A Big Success! A big thank you to Jim Wilson of RE/MAX Legends Group for being the title sponsor of our first annual golf outing at Winding Ridge Golf Course. Jim and his team also took home first place,

REQUIRED IHSAA PHYSICAL & CONSENT TO TREAT/EMERGENCY FORMS

A new IHSAA physical and consent to treat forms for the 2019-2020 must be on file with the athletic office prior to any workout, open gym, practice, or competition. This is required every

year. There are two links below. One is the IHSAA physical form that must be filled out and turned in to the LN athletic office. The second is the required online consent to treat and

emergency medical information forms.

Both of these are required for any student-athlete for the 2019-20 school year. This includes summer workouts, open gym, conditioning, practice, tryouts, and of any type of

competition. No student-athlete will be permitted to work out until these requirements are completed and

submitted.

Fall Activity Bus Schedule

The fall activity busses will start on Monday, August 5th. Students who are involved in a

promptly at 7:30pm. Student must be involved in a supervised after school activity, have a valid school ID and must sign up online.

Hey Wildcat Fans, the LT Transportation Department needs your help! We need some good individuals to fill the driver’s seat of our school buses. Help get our students to/from school,

All-Sport Passes – On Sale Now!

Adult: $70.00 LN Student: $50.00

Middle/Elementary Student: $30.00 Typically, it will cost $5.00 - $8.00 per event, so if you plan on attending a lot of home games

throughout the year, the all-sport pass is the way to go! You will receive a free LN car decal to proudly display with each all-sport pass purchased. Go to

the LN athletic office during normal school hours to purchase the all-sport pass.

Student Parking

All student drivers must have a valid LN student parking pass displayed on their car. Submit the parking application and $40.00 payment to the LN athletic office during normal school hours. A

$25 fine will be assessed to any car that does not display the proper parking credentials after Friday, August 16th. You can download the student parking pass here:

Lifeguard Training Classes Offered at Lawrence North

Lawrence North will be hosting lifeguard training class on Saturday, September 21st and 22nd from 8:00am – 2:00pm each day. Lifeguard candidates must be 15 years old, be able to

perform a 100 yard swim, 13.5 foot surface dive and 10 lb. brick retrieval, and 1 minute hands free tread. Lifeguard candidates will receive a hip pack, whistle, and mask with

registration. Upon completion of all skills to fulfill lifeguard requirements, candidates will receive the following credentials through Ellis & Associates: Lifeguard certification, CPR & AED

certification, and Standard First Aid certification. All certifications are good for one year and after a year a brief renewal course is required to recertify skills.
