LACU is a PLATFORM for Latinos to engage in their visibility and promote the Latino cultures in the region.
LACU is NOT - A service organization- A dancing organization- An arts organization
• Latina Productions started dancing under LACU • Machete Kisumontao started singing under LACU• Guaracha Latin Dance Band started singing under LACU• Brent Rondón was president of LACU for many years• Jorge Delgado from Bésame was part of LACU• Dr. Diego Chavez was vice president of LACU• Carla Leininger was vice president of LACU• AND MANY MORE CONTRIBUTORS!!!!!

Other accomplishments
• 80% of the events included at least one LACU Partner as a collaborator.• 85% of the events included a component that integrates different cultures within and
outside the Latino culture.• An average of 20.5 new members at each event.• Increased LACU events attendance by 70% • Implemented a folkloric dancing program called Dancing4Health in 2014 to promote
health and physical activity • Secured full sponsorship from Highmark BCBS• 10 weeks sessions of dance.• 100 participants

Established LACU Partners for Collaborative Solutions• Increased the visibility of the services and resources offered by our LACU Partners
by 30%.• LACU Partners mailing list increased the communication within Latino-serving
organizations by 80%.• Searchable database made existing resources in Pittsburgh more accessible to the
Latino community with an average of 5 new visits a day. http://groupspaces.com/LACUPartners/members/ • LACU has become a “virtual community” where Latinos go to LACU (website,
Facebook, membership) to find the resources they need.
Social Media• LACU currently has 960 “likes” and reaches approximately 10,000 people per
week. Our LACU Facebook group has 1,045 members.• Traffic to the www.lacunet.org website increased by 80% with an average of
130 views a day where 40% are new visits. • This is beneficial not only for LACU but also to our LACU Partners, other Latino-serving
organizations and businesses targeting the Latino community.
