Objective: Students will be able to

• Identify and describe the use of 10 laboratory equipment items

• HW: pick up worksheet

Topic: Lab Equipment

Make an answer sheet

• Your name and # in the upper right corner

• Title: Lab Equipment• Date and period• Letters A, B, etc. on every other line

Activity

• Performance test on safe practices• You will be tested on:• Wearing goggles properly• Wearing apron• Following instructions• Moving in orderly way through the stations• Handling equipment carefully

Prepare

• Clear everything off the tables• Keep a pen and the answer sheet• All your other belongings go on the

counter by the windows• Push stools under the tables• Line up according to my instructions• Quiet down

Gear up

• Receive goggles and apron• Put them on properly• Tie hair• Line up again

Stations

• You will move trough the stations in pairs• 2 minutes at each station• Identify the equipment at each station• Write the name of each item by the

corresponding letter on your answer sheet• Leave it blank if you are unable to name it• Don’t forget that this is a safety test

Clean up

• Line up again, stay quiet• Take off apron and fold it• One person at a time:• Place apron in the box• Place goggles in the goggle cabinet• Go back in line, stay quiet
