Why does La Casa at Encanterra exist? La Casa at Encanterra is the next evolution in the private club experience. First, it opens its doors to not just a small selection of community residents, but to all within the community, as every hom-eowner is also a Social Member of La Casa. This means that what was traditionally reserved for only the elite few will now be available to each of the more than 3,000 future residents of Encanterra. We do this because we know that those who choose to make Encanterra their home have done so in order to begin that next special chapter in their lives.

What characteristics are inherent to the La Casa experience at Encanterra?La Casa at Encanterra has four Compass Points which are used to guide the team in its delivery of service every single day; they are Enriching, Exclusive, Inviting, and Refreshing. Enriching in the sense that La Casa is about making its Members feel better, through invigorating workouts, delicious food, or a place to make new friends. Exclusive in that this experience is reserved only for those who have chosen to make Encanterra their home or their Club. Inviting because La Casa is, in essence, a 60,000 square foot extension of every home in the community. And finally Refreshing because every day Members will be treated in a way that has them leaving feeling even better than when they came.

What behavioral values are irreplaceable and fundamental? The team at La Casa at Encanterra focuses every day on a “yes, we can” attitude. It is this simple fundamental thought that guides them as they anticipate the preferred latte style of the regular at Explorations Café & News, or as they prepare the golf car with a few extra towels on that rare rainy day, or as they wash the private Member golf cars as they’re inside enjoying a meal. It’s about asking the question “What would make the Member’s life better today?” and then proceeding with vigor at completing the answer.

It’s a place where people come to relax, unwind, meet friends, enjoy a meal, or invest in a workout. Understanding that, our team’s job is to make sure everyone is comfortable regardless of why they are there. This requires not just attentiveness, but anticipation of the needs of the guests. “No” is not a part of the lexicon. Like the lighting, the furniture, and the variety of experiences offered at La Casa, every interaction needs to have a “relax and stay a while” kind of feel.

Naming RationaleElegant in its simplicity, La Casa at Encanterra means “the home at Encanterra”. This conveys the exact feeling that the building is intended to create – La Casa is the shared hub of the entire Encanterra community. With everyone a Member, this is their space to relax, make new friends, discover new opportunities. Simply put, it’s a 60,000 square foot extension of their home.

Logo Treatment ExplanationAgain, elegance and simplicity prevail. By combining the iconic “E” from the community with a simple serif typeface identifying La Casa, the logo is able to both distinguish the uniqueness of the structure while remaining in harmony with the overall community.

Color Palette ExplanationThe mosaic style is prevalent throughout the community – in its architecture, its signage, its marketing, and now its logo for La Casa. Following that mosaic style leads to a color palette of soft earth tones, including an almost clay-red or maroon, a subtle yet rich green, and similar tones in blue, yellow, and brown.

Mood & AtmosphereBistro 1528 (or simply “1528” as it will surely be known by Members) will harness the best aspects of La Casa – comfort, location, animation – and combine them with the unique elements of a free-standing dining experience – intimacy, menu diversity and service. Bistro 1528 is upscale Mediterranean, offering a casual yet sophisticated feel with emphasis on delicious continental cuisine, superior service and genuinely friendly team Members.

The atmosphere is also a bit hip and blends well with the Mediterranean architectural theme of the entire community. The layout and design segue to the outdoors, offering Members and guests the opportunity for casually intimate evenings. With numerous dining experiences available including multiple indoor and outdoor private dining spaces, a Chef’s Table in the kitchen and little alcoves with views of the open kitchen, Bistro 1528 is the perfect place to dine and relax.

Naming RationaleAlthough the New World was first discovered by Europeans in 1492, the trade of foods and spices – and, to varying degrees, cultures – did not begin in earnest until the year 1528. Named for this time of new discovery, the traditional fare of “comfort foods” at Bistro 1528 will be expertly paired with a collection of seasonal and unique international flavors. What began nearly five centuries ago continues today at Encanterra.

Logo Treatment ExplanationClean and simple is the aesthetic that weaves its way through all the logos, the Bistro 1528 graphic identity is no exception. The tile element has been included to connect the image with the remainder of the spaces within La Casa.

Color Palette ExplanationThe restaurant area is slightly darker than some other areas in La Casa, and this is reflected in a somewhat more muted color palette. The same basic colors from La Casa extend through the space, but lighting and rich woods keep the feel a little more “dining out” than “all-day service.”

Compass Points Explanation•ComfortableThough this is the premier dining area, that doesn’t mean there’s no room to relax in a nice

pair of jeans. It’s always “country club casual” throughout 1528.•Consistent Quality food, friendly service, engaging atmosphere.•Delicious Good food done well, including healthy selections that make guilt a thing of the past.•Dynamic An energetic vibe and a menu that always changes.


Staff/Uniforms Uniforms will be seasonal with winter time yielding a long sleeve black banded shirt, black pants and shoes and white full-length bistro apron. Spring and summer transitions into short sleeve with black pants and shoes with white bistro apron. Always accompanied by a bright smile, the team will understand the importance of Trilogy Ten Number 8: Team Member Appearance.

Menu ExplanationGood food done well sounds simple, but as anyone who has dined out lately will tell you, it’s apparently quite challenging. Menus at most places are either significantly under-thought (think Chili’s, Applebee’s or any other chain that lacks creativity) or over-thought (how many demi-glazes can one item really have?). At 1528, the menu will change seasonally, and while it will incorporate continental flavors, it will focus on traditional fare prepared well. Houston’s is the best at this right now, and a model we will look to for influence.

For those who have never experienced this before, it’s more fun than they can imagine and a unique evening their guests won’t soon forget.

Patio Monaco (Private Dining Patio North)One of the best parts about life in Arizona is the ability to bring the outside in, and vice versa. That’s why many of our showcase dining spaces are covered patio areas, and Patio Monaco is no exception. Available for private parties of 25-50 guests and available for open seating during non-reserved times, this is a great venue for celebrating a 25th anniversary or just another extraordinary Tuesday night at Encanterra!

Patio Montenegro (Private Dining Patio South)Similar to Patio Monaco but with a different design aesthetic, Patio Montenegro is another great venue for parties small or large. Protected from the elements but still part of the outdoors, this is one more way to enjoy the beautiful Arizona climate.

The Algarve (Private Outdoor Dining Room Northwest)Captivating views in a casual yet elegant setting make this the perfect location to host a festive dinner party among friends. And when it’s not reserved for a private party, this will be La Casa’s social table, where our host will introduce Members and seat them together; another opportunity to make new friends just for the evening (or maybe for a lifetime).

Marseille I, II, and III (Private Dining Rooms South)These rooms are part of our more intimate private settings, and a consummate place for an ultra-private romantic dinner for two, or small group rendezvous. These special places are like entertaining in one’s own home, only better and a whole lot easier.

Naming Rationale“Apps” is short for “appetizers” and “Après” is French (and Canadian) for “after” and this combination highlights how the lounge is the place to either begin or end the day at La Casa. The alliteration makes the name easy to say and remember, and the French allusion provides an air of sophistication.

Mood & AtmosphereApps & Après has the feel of an upscale wine bar inside combined with a favorite resort patio outside. Its layout and design will give the guest the feeling of a warm and comfortable tavern that could be found somewhere in the Mediterranean – Spain, Greece or Italy. The experience culminates in warm, comfortable seating with a contemporary edge. Custom-made furnishings accented with rich leather, wood, and glass – along with outstanding service – create a distinctive and inviting atmosphere.

The space is equipped with numerous flat-screen televisions which will be tuned to a variety of sports and news stations. On Sunday evenings, Apps & Après is the place to enjoy 60 Minutes, with full sound on just as if it were a major sporting event. In the majority of times when the TV sound is off, acoustic rock & folk will be the music of choice throughout all areas of Apps & Après and Bistro 1528.

Menu ExplanationThe menu features an eclectic mix of shared Tapas plates uniquely presented and offered as a great value with plenty of variety. Since this menu also acts as the “everyday dining” menu for Bistro 1528 and the golf course, items such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads will be available. Finally, to add a hint of irony and levity, Miller High Life will be available on tap anytime for only $2.

Naming RationaleSignifying the exclusive nature of a traditional wine cellar, “The Vault” is a clever way to position what will certainly be anything other than a private space.

Mood & AtmosphereThe Vault at 1528 is that special, little-promoted but exceptionally well-known aspect of 1528. A place to relax alone or with friends, the Vault is one part wine storage, one part tasting room, and one part sanctuary. The service experience delivered here would best be described as the “royal treatment”.

Naming RationaleAgain, a reference to the Old World meets New World heritage of Encanterra, Explorations Café & News is much more than just a pick-up counter and paper cups. It is a neighborhood gathering place. A mix of comfortable tables and chairs as well as lounge-style seating is paired with heavy, colorful ceramic mugs and dishes to project a “sit down and stay awhile” message. Healthy light fare, fresh baked goods and smoothies complement the coffee menu to expand the café’s appeal; this all in addition to access online and to newspapers from The Times of London to The Arizona Republic.

Logo Treatment ExplanationAgain, simplicity and the mosaic influence are key elements of this logo treatment. And the use of the globe imagery is fairly obvious.

Color Palette ExplanationA slightly brighter version of many of the colors used elsewhere, Explorations should feel like a pick-me-up anytime of the day.

Mood & AtmosphereRemember what Starbucks used to want to be, before rapid expansion and drive-thru coffee became the focus? That is what Explorations Café & News will be to the Members. The so-called “third place,” Explorations will act as an extended living room; a place where people can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, some hours spent online, or just a discussion of current events with friends. The food will be unique in origin and generally healthy in nature, as this is an everyday experience for many.

Menu ExplanationAs the compass points indicate, Explorations Café & News is all about a healthy, balanced part of the day. Sandwiches will be suggested with whole wheat, low-fat ingredients will be the default, and fresh local providers will be preferred. There will also be coffee, lattés, espressos, and hot tea available from Peet’s, a forward-thinking brand in the coffeehouse world.

Naming RationaleIn Spanish, Solaz means “refreshment or being refreshed in mind and body, usually by food or drink” – a perfect fit for everyone’s favorite pool- and golf-side grill. Furthermore, there is the double entendre of the combination of “sol” for “sun” and “az” for “Arizona.”

Compass Points Explanation•Convenient Value is important for everyone, and Solaz needs to be affordable enough to keep golfers and

pool guests coming every day.•FastThe guests are on the go, so the food will be too. Whole fruit, ready-made sandwiches, and packaged

items are all at the ready.•FunAs the hub of the outdoor food & drink service, a smile and laugh needs to accompany every item.•Casual This is designed for pool guests and golfers, so relax and enjoy the wonderful outdoor environment.

Mood & AtmosphereOne part “Tiki,” one part “at-the-turn”, the concept here is pretty straightforward – a fun spot to get food while you’re enjoying Arizona’s 350+ days of sun. Sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and burgers on the grill will be staples, as the feel here is beachside. To get the conversations started or to keep them going, there will be Trivial Pursuit cards always at the ready for an impromptu quiz. Staff/UniformsThe beach-like attire at Solaz will be flat-front khaki shorts with a tropical themed Tommy Bahama-style shirt and solid white athletic running shoes with ankle socks. A majority of the time, this area will be handled by two people, although in busier times there may be more.

Menu ExplanationThe goal is not to over-think this one – this is beach, golf, or picnic food, so sandwiches, dogs, burgers and the like will be the primary focus. Much like the signature fries that currently are served in the bistro, Solaz Cabana Bar & Grill will complement its traditional offerings with some easy-to-enjoy creations like wraps and salads.

Logo Treatment ExplanationThe Alvea word mark has a soft, hand drawn, watery feel that reflects the oasis theme. It is upscale and elegant, appealing to the demographic of a typical spa clientele.

Color Palette ExplanationComplementary to the interior design of La Casa, Alvea’s soft greens and aqua provide a cooling and refreshing complement to the palette’s desert landscape colors. A warm orange also punctuates the palette for an enticing and invigorating splash of color.

Mood & AtmosphereAlvea’s mood is reminiscent of a quiet desert oasis. Calm and serene in its life-giving and invigorating services, the atmosphere is cool, soothing and relaxing, taking cues from both the water features and the natural elements used in the design and construction of the spa. Alvea’s four compass points combine to suggest the spa’s personalized approach to serving its clients. Traditional spa services are paired with health and wellness services in a serene environment. Taking inspiration from the holistic ancient healing rituals of the area’s native inhabitants, Alvea Spa focuses on rejuvenation of mind, body and spirit. Staff/UniformsAlvea staff Members are outfitted in crisp, white cotton uniforms with soft green and orange accents. The look is clean — without being clinical — and professional, while still being welcoming. Naming RationaleMossa is Italian for “movement,” a perfect word to capture what happens in Mossa’s various studios and fitness areas. From the female only “Mossa Donna” to the TechnoGym equipment throughout, Mossa is the place for Members and guests to get active.

Color Palette ExplanationWhile complementing the softer colors of La Casa, the space in Mossa is a bit richer in color and more energetic. The deep green is matched with shades of silver and blue to create an upscale resort gym atmosphere.

Mood & AtmosphereMossa Athletic Club is a high-end, luxury fitness experience. All machines are linked through TechnoGym, a real-time on-line personal training system, the free weights and Pilates/yoga equipment is all top of the line, and the team is there to provide extra services such as towels, flavored water, fresh fruit, and more. Staff/UniformsAlways ready to step in and do some quick training or assistance, the team at Mossa is in simple flat-front black slacks and bold colored performance-material polo shirts. Athletic shoes are always either on or available just in case.

FitnessRoomNamesMossa Donna (meaning “woman of movement”) is the name of the Curves-style gym within Mossa. Mossa Corsa (“corsa” means sport) is the large studio space.

Naming RationaleNamed for one of the major Mediterranean port cities, the Mallorca Events Hall is the primary event space in La Casa. Like all port cities, the Mallorca Events Center is about bringing people together from different parts of the world to share an experience.

Mood & AtmosphereAgain, Old World meets New in the Mallorca Events Center, as traditional touches are expertly complemented by state of the art audio and video features. This space needs to accommodate parties, weddings, New Year’s Eve and more. La Casa at Encanterra will quickly occupy the position of premier wedding venue in the southeast valley.

Lawn Names North, West.

Hours of Operation: Spaces within Mallorca Events Center are available by reservation only. Large parties (such as weddings) may be booked by non-Members at the approval of the Club Manager.


Naming RationaleLa Cocina, or “the Kitchen,” is the place to be with your special group of friends. So named because the favorite place in everyone’s home is around the kitchen island, and the island in La Cocina is definitely the focal point of the space.

Mood & AtmosphereOutfitted with a full scale showcase kitchen and relaxing soft seating and televisions to boot, this is the absolute best entertaining space within La Casa. From cooking demonstrations to viewing parties for Grey’s Anatomy, La Cocina is the place to relax among your select group of friends.

Hours of Operation: La Cocina is available by reservation only; its opening hours typically align with those of La Casa.


The traditional center of town, La Plaza is another ode to historic Europe, except at Encanterra the gray Parisian

skyline is replaced by bright blue sky almost year-round. It’s great

when Old World meets New.

Tennis CenterIf tennis is your game we’ve

got just what you’ll need. Four lighted championship tennis courts

are located just east of La Casa, easily accessible from both the Men’s and

Women’s Locker Rooms. We’ve even got a “Stadium Court” complete with

bleachers just in case you want to show off your skills in front of

friends.

Artist Amphitheatre

Would you like to host a show for a few (hundred) of your friends? Sometimes we do, and

that’s why La Casa comes complete with a spectacular grass and stone

outdoor amphitheatre perfect for concerts, plays, festivals,

and more.

Lap Event Pool

“Lap & Event Pool?” – that sounds like an odd combination.

Well, it may sound different but it works great. Our state-of-the-art lap pool includes

rolling edges to prevent waves, making it ideal for those looking to get in an aquatic workout. But it’s also fairly shallow, and easily accessible from

the Family Park, so on weekends it’s available for private parties for children of all ages (but

primarily the little ones). So whether it’s hard work counting laps or hard work

chasing kids, the Lap & Event Pool is the place to be.

Sport ShopThe Sport Shop at La Casa

will feature the latest in apparel and equipment from some of the

top brands in golf, tennis and fitness. Whether it’s the latest apparel or that new Prince Tennis racquet or Scotty Cameron putter you’ve had your eye on, the Sports Shop is where you’ll

find all your golf, tennis or workout needs.
