The repair of the iPod Nano 7th Gen., can be both simple and inexpensive if you follow the steps of this disassemble guide. To assist you in completing the repair, the steps we have provided will help you quickly, and safely, replace a broken display, along with other internal components that may have become damaged.

• **Warning** We are showing the first two steps inreverse order. The Bluetooth antenna, adhered tothe back of the iPod Nano’s bottom cover, is veryeasy to damage.

• Your entry into the iPod Nano 7th Gen is on thebottom back of the unit. Use the plastic openingtool to pry this piece away.

• You can now remove the black spacer from theiPod Nano.

Behind the cover, under the Bluetooth antenna, locate and remove the one small Phillips screw (#000) that secures the black spacer into the unit.

• When you perform the next step, please be awarethis antenna is there. Proceed with caution so thatno damage is done to this piece.

• Once the black spacer is removed, locate andremove the two Phillips screws (#000) that securethe display assembly into the iPod Nano.

It may be helpful to use a small flat head screwdriver to get the assembly away from the unit. Then, use the plastic opening tool to finish separating the display assembly from the iPod Nano.

Using the plastic opening tool, continue separating the display assembly around the entire perimeter of the unit until it is freed from its secured location.

• With the display assembly removed, use thespudger to gently pry up the two connections. Oneis for the LCD and the other is for the touch screen/front panel.

• To remove the battery from the backside of thedisplay assembly, use the spudger to pry the batteryup. It is secured with a small amount of adhesive.

• The display assembly is now completely separatedfrom the iPod Nano.

• To separate the LCD from the touch screen,locate and remove the six Phillips screws (#000)that are around the frame of the LCD.

• With the securing screws removed, pry the twopieces apart.

• To remove the Bluetooth antenna, locate andremove the one Phillips screw (#000) that securesthe piece to the phone.

• Using the spudger, gently pry up on the connectorfor the Bluetooth antenna. It is located to the right ofthe securing screw.

• You can now remove the Bluetooth antenna from theiPod Nano 7th Gen.

• To remove the power button, locate and remove thetwo Phillips screws (#000) that secure the button inthe corner of the unit.

• Use extreme caution when removing the powerbutton from the iPod Nano. The ribbon wire isdelicate. Use the spudger to get under the wires forremoval if necessary.

• Remove the volume buttons next. Locate andremove the three Phillips screws (#000) that securethe assembly to the side of the unit.

• Use the spudger to pry the power button assemblyfrom its mounted location.

• Using the spudger, pry the volume button assemblyaway from the frame so it can be removed.

• Next we will disconnect the motherboard. Locate andremove the five Phillips screws (#000) that securethis entire assembly into the iPod Nano’s case.

• To begin removing the motherboard, pry the speakerjack assembly out of its secured location in thecorner of the unit.

• When the speaker-jack assembly is loose, removethe entire motherboard. This includes the board,battery, speaker-jack assembly, lighteningconnector, volume button, and power buttons.
