KPIT SPARKLE 2016 , All India science and engineering students tech expo Conducted by KPIT technologies Pune, COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and IIT Mumbai on 29 th and 30th of January 2016. The competition with the theme of 'Smart Solutions for Energy and Transportation' received 44,000 applications from 27 states of India came in for first round.

After Strict selection process 1,700 innovative ideas from over 10,000 students across 500 colleges in India appeared for pre-final round.

54 best teams (The Teams Appeared for grand final includes 4 IIT teams, 13 NIT teams, 4 BITS team etc.) made it to the grand finale of KPIT Sparkle 2016 and top shortlisted presented innovative and sustainable solutions through scale models and working prototypes.

Team Foxtrot Geeks from Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Won 3rd prize and silver award of INR 1 lakh cash prize for their project on 'virtual speed breaker'. The Team members are, Albin Baby (Team Leader), Jim Paul Varghese and T Balavenkatesh from Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology. The projects were reviewed and evaluated by a jury comprising of eminent judges, consisting of scientists, industrialists and academicians including honorable prime minister shri Narendra Modi, Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, Ravi Pandit, Shri Vinit Goenka, Air Marshal Shri Bhushan Gokhale, Shri Satish Ogale, Dr. Ashish Lele, Ms. Rashmi Urdhwareshe, Prof. C. S. Kumar.
