Selection procedure is:

1. Qunantitave Test

2. GD(Optional :: not taken in our college)

3. TI+PI

There is 35 marks test in 30 minutes There is -ve marking of 0.25 for 1 wrong ans.

No section cut of . There are 2 sections. Time Management is Very Imp.

Sections of Test are

i). Quantitave + Analytical :: 20 marks

Some questions of analytical are very tough and time consuming so I am telling to all friends

that do English section First with currect then u can surely crack this test .Book :: R . S.

Agrawal. Questions are on

ans. Do this section first and then go to the analytical its very very imp.

2. GD :: It is there if large no. of students are shortlisteded. In our college GD is not taken.

3. TECH+HR :: Be Cofident and give ans of each qn's

this part was also easy. You require class 10 level knowledge of english. They had

given 15 such questions. Each question consists of a sentence with some part of it

underlined. All you need to do is to select among the 5 choices the best one that

fits in.

PIT CUMMINS PAPER & INTERVIEW - 11 JUL 2005 - KOLKATTA

Yesterday we had an off-campus of KPIT-Cummins at St.Thomas, College of Engg. & Tech. in Kolkata. I was in Gr. B and was informed that we were supposed to be there by 9:45AM. I arrived there at about 9:20. We found a huge crowd outside the college gate. We soon came to know that Group A, which was supposed to give their exam from 8:45 onwards had not commenced yet and it would be around 10:00 until we can get in at least within the campus. Certainly at about 10:30 we got in and were told to stay inside a huge hall at the top floor of the college building. We came to know that Gr.A is still waiting downstairs just like us... because the

question papers had not arrived. It was around 11:00 when the questions finally arrived in a huge black suitcase sealed from outside in a Mahindra Voyager like car. After Gr A completed their exam we were immediately told to go to the rooms as per our Hall Ticket number... what?? No slideshow or company introduction?... ok... cant help it.. The exam started around 12:50.

 It was a 35 question 30 minutes test. Part 1 was 20 questions mostly maths related involving Linear Arrangement(5),Data Sufficiency(3) and some simple problems. Part2 was English part which had only Sentence Correction. They had negative marking and the cutoff was set at 30 (which I later came to know). The exam was pretty easy for me. I did 20 in part 1 and 13 in part 2. After the exam was over they told us to wait till 2:00PM in class for the results. It was a sharp shred-off. From Group B they selected 34 candidates and from group A and C about 32 each only. I was in. Parting from all but one of my friends we were told to be in the Seminar Hall by 2:30.

At 2:50 they came and divided the 34 students into 3 groups 1(11),2(11) and 3(12). That means we would be having a GD! what??... most of us knew there would be any GD since it was not in the notice. Well.. we are not the persons here who make decisions. The GD was my worst nightmare. We were given a topic.. Aishwarya V/s Sushmita..  A girl( a real idiot.. sorry but i cant help.. none of us in the group could). She started speaking on sushmita Sen and it was endless and baseless.. She kept on saying that she is great she is not proud.. and what and what not.. she spoke almost 8 out of 12 minutes just like background music(noise). She wouldnt let others speak just by saying baseless words with no points to support her ideas. Even if she didnt stop we never gave up and we kept talking which resulted in a chaotic situation. After the disaster was over we were told to sit and wait till 4:30. Two other girls in the group went and talked to the Madame who was supervising the GD and she said that our group was a spoil. They explained what was wrong but the damage had already been done. At around 5 PM results were out. So was I. But my friend qualified for the next round and will be facing the technical and hr today(i.e.12/07/05). My best wishes for him. Out of a total of around 1400 students only 35 were told to come next day for technical & HR. Lets hope at least 1% gets the job.

To my greatest astonishment that girl was through. Neither the girl nor do the supervisor of the GD seemed to know what a GD is. May I help... It means "GROUP" Discussion. There are certain rules that you follow..>Speak and let others speak>Bring out concrete points to support what u say>If someone is not speaking much ask him to speak out>Do not repeat what you have said once.. this makes the supervisor feel you dont have much points.>discuss with only the members of the group

I dont think the selectors look for any of these qualities in GD. Being a girl is more important to them. All selectors, be it Sir or Madame, have a soft corner for the girls. If you are a beautiful

girl then there are many jobs at your feet even if you say... "What is a HaArd DiskK?". They think that this improves "Work Environment" but I doubt the fact that any constructive "Work" is done in such an "Environment". 1) QUANTITATIVE (20 Questions):

problems based on heights & distances, boats & streams, numbers, profit-loss, percentage,

time n work, time n distance, allegation or mixtures, pipes & cisterns (RS Aggrawal is

enough).

Following are some question that I remembered..

1)50 man can build a wall of 40m height 30m breadth 50m width in 20 days. then in how

many days 40 man can build a wall of 30m,40m,60m?

2)There are three pipes A,B,C. A can fill a tank in 15hours, B can fill a tank 20hours, C can

empty a tank in 25 hours.a man can start a tap A at 3 o’clock B at 4 o’clock & C at

5o’clock.find at what time tank can full? (pls note, values are incorrect).

3) abcd = 1 then minimum possible value of (1+a)(1+b)(1+c)(1+d)?

ans. 16

4)Fresh grapes contain 90% water when they are dried they turn into resins containing 20%

water .find how many kg of resins can be obtained from 20kg of fresh grapes

(ans 2.5)

5) a,a+2,a+4 are prime numbers ,then find number of possible solution of a?

(ans. only 3 satisfies)

6)2 boats running in opposite direction with 10 km/hr & 5 km/hr(distance between boats is

given).Find distance between 2 boats ,1 min before collision?

2) ENGLISH (15 Questions):

Its really very very easy. Some part of sentence is underlined & we have to replace it with

appropriate sentence from given options.

NOTE: Friends I suggest u to solve English section first, it will definitely help u, coz

quantitative questions are really time consuming.

1 hr later results were declared .After that interview session.

INTERVIEW:

There were 2 separate interviews Both the interview faced by me were technical type.

1st interview:

I was totally nervous, I entered interview hall with smiling face

I: May I come in sir

He: Pls come in

I: wished him good evening

He: pls have a seat He just pass through my resume & test paper He asked me about my

family background,

I : answered it.

He: so Mr.Pritesh how many questions did u solve today in paper?

I: Sir, 23 questions (confidently), 15 english & 8 from quantitative.

He: How many other company did u appeared before & what happened in it?

I: answered(be honest)

He: Ok Pritesh what r ur favorite subjects?

I: Sir, C, C++,data structure

He: may I ask u questions from DBMS? (Actually I was not prepared with DBMS)

I: Sir I m not prepared well with it.

He: Whether it is completed in ur syllabus?

I: Yes sir

He: Then I don’t want any excuse

I: Ok sir u may ask me, I will answer u. He gave me a paper & told to write definition of

DBMS,I wrote it & shown him immediately

He: give me some good eg & explain it

I: Sir our college attendance system.. He stopped me & told it is common eg I want

something different

He: explain with courier service eg.

I: explained him well

He: what is functional key?

I : answered

He: which will be functional key in ur courier service eg?

I: answered

He: Anyway, pritesh have u played carrom.

I: A year ago.

I: (Thought for 2 to 3min) Force He smiled & said its correct

I: It follows all the laws of Newton (explained all) He got impressed

I: (Thought for moment) Only physics

He: No, one more sub u will require, u r learning it from 11th standard

I: (paused for 1min) No sir, only physics

He: U will require geometry He explained me everything how geometry is required

He: Will u work anywhere?

I: Sir anywhere in INDIA

He: Good,  Ok pritesh thank u

I: Thank u very much sir. Friends it lasted for 40 min, Discussion on carrom game designing

was more

Then he asked me to wait outside. After 5 min I was called for next interview

2nd INTERVIEW:

It lasted for only 10 min. All questions on project work.

He passed through my resume reading each & every line from it. He asked me to draw DFD

of my project. I was unaware about it so I explained him brief overview of my project. My

project was related to managing data of library in C++ (using file). He told it would be better

if it is design using database. Then he asked me to convert the same project into new one

using some database. I had done it easily.

Both the interviews were good. I was 1 from 16 selected students, I was very happy. KEEP

FAITH IN YOURSELF ...

I attended for KPIT in SVCET College in Chittoor (off campus). I am doing final btech ECE in

INTELL engg college. Here is my experience.

About 600 memebers attended and 167 are shortlisted in written test and sent to further

rounds. Finally they selected 73 members for KPIT. KPIT is in Pune and Banglore.

There are mainly three rounds and GD is optional (depending on number of members)

1.Writtem test

2.Technical

3.Hr 

In Written test, there will be given 30min of time to do 35 questions. In that 20 questions

frm aptitude and rem frm English. The questions are easy for me, just we have to manage

the time.

Some questions are,

1.If w=15w/(w+13) then wat is (1/2w)^2 ?

Ans:1

2.If a person covers 4m in 1/4th second, how much he wil cover in 10sec?

Ans:160m

3.A completes work in x days n B completes in y days .In how many days both wil complete?

Ans :xy/(x+y)

But be careful there will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer. I solved

upto 25 questions in the paper. We hav cut off of abt 18 marks in written test.

After written test results are announced there is a ppt about KPIT and after half an hour time

they started the technical round.

In technical round, they concentrated on C, micro processors, micro controllers, Embedded

systems and abt the project (for ECE) There is only one interviewer in the room. First i

wished him, then he asked wat are ur present subjects. I said.

wat r ur last sem subjects? He asked a question on optical fibres. I said.

Wat is micro processor?

wat is a microcontroller?

How many registers are present in microcontroller?

wat is embedded systems?

Difference bet emb sys and a computer?

Questions on my mini project?

I answered about all questions. Be confident while answering. If u dont know just say, i cant

recollect now sir. But dont tell the wrong answers. Then he told, thats all u can leave.

The candidates who cleared technical r sent to Hr round. Technical round is difficult, if u

clear it then  u r almost selected.

Coming to HR round, there are 2 persons in the room asked to take me seat when i entered

confident level, communication skills in hr.

At about 11 clock, they announced the results. They selected 73 students. 36 for pune n 37

for banglore. I am very happy to have my name in tat list.

Hi everybody,i had appeared for KPIT on 12th feb 2008....it was incampus for 2009 passout students at SGGS college,Nanded....my status was TY IT....i got selected for KPIT......We were nearly 250 people and 32 among us cleared aptitude test and they selected 16....

HR:I am the first person for HR. the person was very cool.he test only confidence & communication skill.he: tell me about urself?

Hi.......I am Anshul Kosarwal....B.E- CS (Final yr.).......frm SVCE, Indore .....I am going to share my experience with all of u....hope it will help u...... It was a three day procedure (depends upon the no. of students appearing)....open campus held at IPS , Indore  .... nearabout 1900 students appeared for written.....frm those 145 cleared the written.......75 cleared the GD......n finally 40 students got in.

1st day :- WRITTEN Total 35 que. wer their containing 2 sections (20 Apti. + 15 English).........with duration 30 min..........(NEGATIVE MARKING WAS THEIR.... -0.25 for each wrong answer)  

APTI :- It mostly contain percentage, profit & loss, time-work, mixture & alligation,ratio-proportion,time n dist. related que's..........for ths R.S Agarwal is sufficient......

ENGLISH :- This section was dame easy..............Phrase replacement sentences wer their.........(i think doing ths section 1st will be worthy).

2nd day :- GD With me their wer 9 more candidates.....appearing for GD in my batch............My topic was "Orkut shud. b banned or not"......as the topis was easy....every one started a loud......few saying tht orkut shud b banned...& few saying not 2 b.......but i was only person who rested on both......& gave the reason....tht why orkut shud b banned & why not 2 b..............& ths thing really stated apart me frm the rest....... In GD they look for............ ur Comm. Skills.... ur gesture........team leadership quality......& always try to put new pts. instead of elaborating the older ones...............Rest of the topices were something lik....... India china treat, women empo.,who is better manager men or women....... Try to give ur best in GD b'coz the person taking ur  GD may take ur HR.   3rd day :- HR + TI First i had my HR :- All the questions were dynamic for 45 mins.....they can ask u anything....i mean anything.....so be prepared for that......be calm cool and confident........ I Entered the room......... me: Good afternoon sir (with smile)......Bingooo the HR was same.....who took my GD day before..

interviewer: ok....Anshul..........all the best for ur TI........hope v meet at KPIT me: thank u sir.........(with a sense tht.......yes i got it right)   Then after 10 min. i had my TI :- Generally the interviewer asked all the subjects that we haven't mentioned in the CV..so be careful..........I mentioned OOPM & DSA......... interviewer: u hav such a nice aggregate. interviewer: Introduce ur self ??? me: ansd thn........ where do u c ur-self after 5 yrs. frm now Wht is OOP's?? explain it with example wch lang. do u knw??? whts AIESEC.........wch u hav written in ur resume wht does it do? whts ur rank in the class?? whts DSA??? why its made in use???   i gave all the answers 2 my best..........   interviewer at last : i don't think i hav 2 ask u much........... ur HR was much impressed with u...........& thn came the words wch every fresher likes 2 hear...........''Congratulation u r selected''....J................i got my confirmation......though other hav 2 wait till final list at the end of the day was announced........

KPIT PAPER ON 3RD DECEMBER,2007

hey all, i appeared for KPIT aptitude in pune. aptitude consists of 2 section:Section 1: Quantitative( %age, ratio, speed etc)---20 question

Toughest partSection 2: English all phrase replacement( some sentences are given and part of it is underlined we have to find best replacement for it)------ 15 questions (very easy just read them properly)

In all 35Q, ther is 0.25 negative marking ie 1mark minus for 4 wrong answers, total time 30Mins I did english section first so was able complete more questions.I remember few aptitude question u can prepare accordingly, i dnt knw the correct frame of question but the values are correct.

Section 1:1.
