Kipling Collegiate Institute (KCI) is a small school with a strongacademic focus that is enhanced by our unique Science,Technology, Engineering & Math program. TV & Film Broadcasting &Production ProgramFrom grades 9 through 12, we offercourses where students gainexpertise in all aspects of film andtelevision production. In the juniorgrades , students are introduced tocommunications technology software. In grades 11 & 12, students workwith state-of-the-art software andediting equipment to produce a dailytelevision broadcast called "SwitchOn". This program is unique to Kipling and affords students thechance to work in an industry-standard digital broadcast studio.The program teaches students how to work under tight deadlinesand create a program for broadcast everyday.

Science Technology Engineering & Math ProgramAs a STEM school, we infuse technology across the curriculum.Our  broadcast program and our computer engineering programprovide two unique curricular options for students. Teachers in all subjects use technology to engage students andprovide them with opportunities such as our Middle School ScienceOlympics to put their learning into action.  

Leadership ProgramWe have a multi-level leadership program where students developtheir skills & earn certification. The leadership club organizes a daytrip for grade 9 students and an overnight leadership camp. Thestudents host anti-bullying & equity workshops, participate in "Me toWe" social justice initiatives and organize numerous fundraisers forthe school & community.

KCI is a vibrant school that offers a full complement of clubs,sports and other extracurricular activities. Our studentsknow they can make a difference and annually raise fundsfor many worthwhile organizations. Students are recognizedat school events like the:

Parent and Community Engagement

We are fortunate to welcome many volunteers who support theexcellent programs at KCI. Our newcomer students benefit fromdaily lunchtime tutoring provided by our community volunteers, andour settlement worker supports the transition needs of  their families.We appreciate our alumni who return to KCI each year to offerassistance with our Homework Club. Our breakfast program runstwice a week and offers students a nutritious start to the day. KCI has many community partnerships including:
