THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT!

For Friends Friday

This is the last King’s Ken for the year, as our students start with exams from next week onwards. We wish to thank our parents for their support of The King’s School West Rand and for recognizing Christian education as a pedagogy that best prepares children for a purposeful, fulfilled life.

Thanks to our teachers who are not satisfied with students just "knowing all the right answers", but rather desire for students to have their minds and hearts captured and transformed by God so that they will seek to restore the brokenness of this world as faithful response to his enduring love.

Thanks to our parents who are also seeking a future for their children that goes beyond the mechanical drudgery of working for a salary to survive the next month, but for their kids to discover a calling that will be filled with meaningful activity to significantly impact the world for good. May we finish strong in our dreams and commitments. The end of the year is not a time to allow ourselves to become demotivated or lazy, it is a time to celebrate and finish strong. We are given this treasure of guiding and shaping our young people and we must hold forth the values of working hard for growth and meaning.

May you have a special time of advent, as we enter a time of anticipating the birth of Christ, God with us. It’s a time in the Christian calendar where we remember God's seeing the condition of his people, coming to be with them in flesh and showing them the way of salvation.

Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” New

Living Translation.

2018 was a challenging but rewarding year with regards to sporting and cul-tural activities. Past and current students, staff members and parents experi-enced the loss of Mr John-Mark Theunissen, but our comfort was found in the Lord. He renewed our strength and we did not grow weary. From the Interhouse Athletics held on the first Friday of term one until the Evening of Excellence, God has been so good. Our children have achieved excel-lent and outstanding achievements. Congratulations to each and everyone who made their dreams become a reality this year.

On behalf of the Extra Mural Department we would like to say a big thank you to all of our staff, sports managers, internal coaches and external coaches (Fielding dreams, Football friends and Pro-cricket) for your dedication and direction towards our extra mural programme. You have all inspired the learn-ers to do their best to reach their goals. Your dedication, time and effort inspired learners to commit, persevere and live to glorify God in all that they do. Thank you to our Parents for supporting and encouraging our sportsmen and sportswomen and for partnering with us during the course of the year.

Last but not least – thank you to all of our learners for your dedication and passion for the activities that you were involved in. We look forward to a busy and enjoyable 2019!
