2. Why Code Machines are Important?Code machines are one of the fewest essential tools a locksmith can use. Code Machines allow a locksmith to make a working key with the general cut shape equal to an original factory-cut key. Key cutting machines are most important for a professional locksmith. 3. Key Cutting TipsGenerally lock designs can be divided into two types: Wafer locks: Usually approximately 0.025 thick Pin tumbler locks: Generally diameters of either 0.095 or 0.115 Spacing from cut-to-cut for wafer locks is normally factory-set between 0.083 and 0.098 Spacing for cut-to-cut locks using 0.095 diameter pin tumblers is normally set between 0.109 and 0.140 4. Key Cutting TipsUsing the correct cutter blade is the most crucial process. For locks using cut-to-cut dimensions which are wider than 0.140, manufacturers have a deep cutting blade with a 100-degree cutting angle and 0.045 flat. 5. Key Cutting TipsGenerally every cutter has a V shape. When a very deep V cut is made side by side to a very shallow cut, the cutter may remove too much material and the side by side shallow cut cannot be made. Each lock has set a maximum adjacent cut factor (MAC). If a key code series already taken into MAC account, eliminate cuts which violate the MAC rule.Would not work when you used the key in your door?
