KESC BQPS II Reported By: Rao Muhammad Shahbaz Manager Condition Monitoring Date: 17-Jan-2013 Steam Turbine Vibration Status Report Activity Performed: Dynamic Balancing Description: At bearing #4, shaft vibration reading from X-probe was observed 114 microns. After considering the dynamic balancing as root cause elimination activity, it was performed by HE Engineer with the aid of ADRE system. Balancing Activity: Balancing activity was performed on LP rotor. Selected planes were near bearing no. 3 & 4. Given below was the status: Speed= 3000 r/min Reference Run (On which Dynamic Balancing was decided): After addition of correction weight, there was not much change in vibration. So additional weight was removed and now on these two bearings, 1X status is as follows: On the next page, unfiltered orbits, polar plots, shaft center line plot & bar graphs of all 6 bearings are attached. Bearing 3 (1X) X-probe= 21µm @ 113˚ Y-probe= 35µm @ 254˚ Bearing 4 (1X) X-probe= 88µm @ 141˚ Y-probe= 37µm @ 271˚ Bearing 3 (1X) X-probe= 45μm @ 161˚ Y-probe= 53μm @ 270˚ Bearing 4 (1X) X-probe= 100μm @ 118˚ Y-probe= 46μm @ 237˚

Steam Turbine Vibration Status Report

Activity Performed: Dynamic Balancing

Description:

At bearing #4, shaft vibration reading from X-probe was observed 114 microns. After considering the

dynamic balancing as root cause elimination activity, it was performed by HE Engineer with the aid of

ADRE system.

Balancing Activity:

Balancing activity was performed on LP rotor. Selected planes were near bearing no. 3 & 4. Given

below was the status:

Speed= 3000 r/min
