BexTis young all white male cat came to us as a stray. Can you oerhim his ideal home? He is very friendly and loves attention. Anexperienced cat owner is needed as he sometimes gets overexcitedand will give you a little nip but usually it is only in play. Becauseof this we would not consider homing him with a family with

    young children

Bex is about two years old he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

StanleyHe is three years old and very friendly. Unfortunately Stanley has theFIV* virus so must be kept as an indoor cat. He will make a very loyaland loving companion. He follows his fosterer around everywhere and

when she sits down Stanley thinks it is especially so he can sit on herlap. Stanley is the perfect companion, he is happiest on your knee, oron the newspaper you are trying to read.

    * Cats with FIV make ideal indoor companion animals.

BlueTis handsome boy is a bit on the nervous side but then whowouldnt be after nding himself shut out of his home in thecoldest of weather, when his owner moved out and left himbehind.

We are looking for a new loving home for Blue without childrenor other pets, where he can take time to settle.

Please ring 0151 355 9813 if you are interested in homing any

of these cats and we will arrange a home check. (It will be an

answering machine. Leave your name and number and we will

return your call). Go to www.southwirral.cats.org.uk to see other

cats in need of a home.

There is an adoption fee of 40 per cat. Each cat will be:

Fully examined by a veterinary surgeon, Vaccinated at least once against u and enteri-

tis, Treated against eas, tapeworm and roundworm, Neutered if old enough. Micro chipped He will also come

with four weeks Petplan insurance cover, which you may choose to continue, Giving invaluable peace of mindand reassurance as you and your cat embark on this lifelong friendship

South Wirral Cats Protection have a number of cats who desperately need a home.

Can you give a cat a home?

Hawthorn trees have red berries and white

or pink owers in early summer. If youwant to plant a tree have a look at Crataeguslaevigata Pauls Scarlet with deep pink owersor Crataegus laevigata Rosea Flore Plena withdouble pink owers.

Flowers that are in season in October include

the delicate Cyclamen hederifolium whichwill ower into winter and look great plantedunder trees and shrubs that lose their leaves inautumn. They will self seed too bringing you acarpet of white or pink owers in time. They areideal for a dryish spot under trees.

Chrysanthemums are out in late September

and October. Select hardy varieties that can begrown outside in the border or be prepared tobuy new plants each year as many varieties are

only half hardy and will not survive the winter ifleft outside.

Buy bulbs of daffodils and tulips and plantin October. Wallowers and primulas can beplanted out this month for colour next year.October is also the time to plant out perennials, evergreen hedging plants and climbers beforewinter sets in. The soil should still be warmfrom summer to allow good root growth andalso damp from rain enabling them to survivethe winter.

In the vegetable garden you can probably stillplant winter lettuce seeds then cover with acloche to supply some greens in winter. Liftpieces of mint, thyme and chives and pot up foruse indoors when the plants outside die backand sow seeds of parsley to use in cooking.Make sure broccoli and Brussels sprout plantsare staked.

October is the time for the last cut of the yearfor the lawn. You can also lay turf provided thesoil is moist and there are no frosts likely.

Advice on using a solicitor Part TwoWhere a rm is based is obviously an issue o convenience, particularly or elderly, sick or disabledpeople. Do you need to use a rm that is close to where you live? I so, this will narrow your search. Some solicitors are happy to visit you at home, so i you nd travelling difcult, its well worthasking about this.I you are on a low income or receiving benets, you may be eligible or legal aid. You can nd this

out by contacting your nearest citizens advice bureau or law centre. For certain types o case, including personal injury, your solicitor may be prepared to work on a

conditional ee basis. Tis is more commonly known as a no win, no ee arrangement. I you win

the case, your solicitors ees will usually be paid by the other side. I you lose, you do not have topay your solicitors ees. You may be asked to take out an insurance policy to pay or the other sidescosts i you lose. Tere are various types o conditional ee arrangement, but not all solicitors rmstake cases on this basis.I you need to see a solicitor about a personal matter, such as a relationship breakdown, you will

want to choose someone who makes you eel comortable. Most solicitors will be sympathetic andunderstanding i you are distressed, but you may preer to deal with someone who is the same sex asyou. Dont be araid to say that this is what you want.
