    1. INTRODUCTION

    1.1 SCOPE

This document defines which Codes and Standards will be applied to the detailed HVAC design of the Kashagan Development Projects

1.2 DISTRIBUTION, INTENDED USE AND REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS

All Agip KCO contractors & subcontractor

    1.3 DEFINITIONS

    1.3.1 General definitions

The Contractor is the party which carries out all or part of the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning or management of a project, or operation or maintenance of a facility. The Company may undertake all or part of the duties of the Contractor.

The Manufacturer/Supplier is the party which manufactures or supplies equipment and services to perform the duties specified by the Contractor.

The Company is the party which initiates the project and ultimately pays for its design and construction. The Company will generally specify the technical requirements. The Company may also include an agent or consultant authorised to act for, and on behalf of, the Company.

The word shall indicates a requirement.

The word should indicates a recommendation.

    1.3.2 Specific definitions

Standard - Document, established by consensus and approved by a recognised body, that provides, for common and repeated use, rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results, aimed at the achievement of the optimum degree of order in a given context.

External Standard - Standard (e.g. ISO, EN, ANSI, BS, API, ST RK, GOST, SNiP etc.) issued under the auspices of a non Agip KCO body.

KTS - Kashagan Technical Specification (Internal Standard)

Custodian - Line manager of the Author, or the relevant senior discipline specialist (if different), responsible for the approval of a Kashagan Technical Specification within the originating discipline, and ultimately responsible for the contents of the Kashagan Technical Specification.

Author - Person responsible for identifying the acceptable external standards and responsible for writing a Kashagan Technical Specification (KTS). The Author acts as the focal point for questions relating to the content and meaning of a KTS.

    2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Standards Implementation Engineer Standards Implementation Engineer is responsible for facilitation of the process of development of the current Document on HVAC Codes & Standards. All changes in the documents will be discussed with Codes & Standards Group in order to make it aliened with other disciplines and update/maintain the Access database of External Codes & Standards. The Database of External Codes & Standards is updated regularly by AGIP KCO Codes & Standards Group and updates are automatically fed into the current document and other way around - the changes of the document are captured in the Database.

The register of (KTS) Kashagan Technical Specifications (Internal standards) is updated regularly by AGIP KCO Codes & Standards Group and any updates are automatically fed into the current document and other way around - the changes of the document are captured in the KTS Register.

Guidelines for HVAC Codes & Standards

HVAC Engineer is responsible for preparation of the current document for HVAC discipline with the project. These documents are not project specific i.e. do not apply just to offshore or onshore but to all sections of the project who are dealing with HVAC systems. AGIP KCO HVAC Engineer who is involved with the actual work is a custodian of the current document and responsible for update as and when required.

    3. DOCUMENT STRUCTURE

    3.1 GENERAL

HVAC Systems for the EP Projects will generally be designed in accordance with the Codes and Standards listed in Annex 1, except where they are overridden by specific Project Specifications

For the International and de facto International standards not Registered in RoK any conflicts shall be identified with the equivalent Republic of Kazakhstan Standards and an approved deviation shall be obtained from the relevant RoK authority.

    3.2 PROCEDURE

The applicable external HVAC codes and standards and project specifications have been identified in accordance with the Procedure Identification, Developing and Registration of External Standards and Kashagan Technical Specifications, developed by Codes and Standards.

This procedure defines the process by which External Standards are added to Agip KCO's Database of External Standards, and, dependent upon priority level, how these standards are then registered within the RoK. This procedure also defines the process by which a Kashagan Technical Specification is developed (or revised), registered within Agip KCO, and, where applicable, expertized within the RoK.

The Agip KCO External Standards database includes a justification code for why that particular standard was selected as follows:

Justification Code 1: Recognised International Standards (ISO, IEC, ITU)

Justification Code 2: De facto International standards

    Justification Code 3: Industry Standards

    Justification Code 4: RoK Standards.
