OSHClub News Before School / After School Care Program Term 4 – Week 10

It’s been such a fun and varied week here at OSHClub, we have been busy making decorations for our end of term party – Campbell and Emma have been asking their friends for suggestions and coming up with some ideas for decoration, food and activities. We are going to have so much fun. We have been using our crash mats to have mini wrestling matches and practice footy tackles with our Bully bag on the grassy areas outside. On Tuesday Alex H, Zach, Sean and a few others choreographed a dance and gym routine and did a wonderful show for the staff. Wednesday night we practiced singing carols, painted Santa pictures and Emma, Alex M, Alexis, Jasca and some other children created a puppet theatre – made from an empty cardboard box. They created a wedding play with felt puppets they made and decorated themselves. We will be keeping this for future use, they all worked so hard on the scenery. We had a variety of Yummy snacks that the children suggested including smoothies, Sandwiches, Icy Poles, yoghurt with pancakes, and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Oshy and Sticky, our resident stick insects are growing very quickly and we are enjoying looking after them, collecting Gum leaves, spraying them and cleaning their enclosure as well as holding them and watching them move. The felt character boards are proving to be a popular activity this week. We have asked the children for ideas on new and fun equipment they would like for next term and some very exciting things are on their way for the new year. The children are all very excited for Holiday Program at both Ringwood Heights and Good Shepherd – our staff will be working at Ringwood Heights and we are all looking forward to the fun incursions and excursions planned as well as all the activities OSHClub provide. A reminder that children MUST WEAR hats AND sunscreen whilst at our Before and After School Care service. We supply Coles’ branded 50+ protection sunscreen here at the service, however, if your child has specific sunscreen needs we encourage parents to either leave some with us at the program or ensure that children have some in their bags when they arrive. Children will strictly NOT be allowed to play outside if they do not have both hat and sunscreen. We appreciate your feedback for our program and our team. We are available during program hours on 0439 992 434; feel free to leave a voicemail message if we are unavailable. We are also contactable at [email protected]. Alternatively, you are always welcome to contact our Area Manager (Kathi Rowan) on 0432 212 817 or [email protected]. We have a GOLD suggestion box on the “sign in” table and we invite everyone to leave suggestions whenever they wish! These can be anonymous We welcome everyone in OSHClub, and it would be awesome to see some new faces in our program, so come on in and see everything we have to offer! We look forward to seeing everyone over the rest of the term! Kind Regards, Michelle Dark, Tayla Alderson and Wendy Reid.
