All People That on Earth Do Dwell

Penitential Act (The Confiteor)I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, (And, striking their breast, they say:) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore, I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Liturgy of the Word First Reading: 2 Kgs 4:8-11, 14-16a

Psalm: Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

Second Reading: Rom 6:3-4, 8-11

Gospel Mt: 10:37-42

The GloriaGlory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Profession of Faith (Nicene Creed)

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father, through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

All people that on earth do dwell,Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell,Come we before him, and rejoice.

Know that the Lord is God indeed;Without our aid he did us make;We are his folk, he does us feed,And for his sheep he does us take.

O enter then his gates with praise;Approach with joy his courts unto;Praise, laud, and bless his Name always,For it is seemly so to do.

For why? the Lord our God is good:His mercy is for ever sure; His truth at all times firmly stood,And shall from age to age endure.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,The God whom heav’n and earth adore,From us and from the angel hostBe praise and glory evermore.

Prayer for VocationsLord Jesus, thank you for calling us to be your disciples. Help us to love you and follow you with all our heart. May our parish bear fruit in many vocations to the priesthood and religious life; touch the hearts of our young people and help them to respond to your call. Work through us to serve those in need and to share your good news, that we may be a light for Beaufort. Amen.

Offertory Hymn

Be Thou My Vision1. Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;Thou my best thought, by day or by night; Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

2. Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true Word; I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord; Thou my great Father and I, Thy true son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

3. Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise; Thou mine inheritance, now and always; Thou and Thou only, first in my heart; O King of glory, my treasure Thou art.

4. O King of glory, my victory won;Rule and reign in me ’til Thy will be done;Heart of my own heart, whatever befall; Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

Jesus, My Lord, My God, My AllJesus! my Lord, my God, my all!How can I love Thee as I ought? And, how revere this wondrous gift,So far surpassing hope or thought?Sweet Sacrament! we Thee adore!O, make us love Thee more and more!

Had I but Mary's sinless heartTo love Thee with, my dearest King!O with what bursts of fervent praiseThy goodness, Jesus, would I sing!Sweet Sacrament! we Thee adore!O, make us love Thee more and more!

O see upon the altar placed,The victim of divinest love!Let all the earth below adore,And join the choirs of heav'n above.Sweet Sacrament! we Thee adore!O make us love Thee more and more!

Crown Him with Many Crowns1. Crown Him with many crowns,The Lamb upon His throne.Hark! How the heavenly anthem drownsAll music but its own.Awake, my soul and sing Of HimWho died for thee,And hail Him as thy matchless KingThrough all eternity.2. Crown Him the Lord of life,Who triumphed o'er the grave,Who rose victorious to the strifeFor those He came to save. His glories now we sing,Who died, and rose on high,Who died eternal life to bring,And lives that death may die.3. Crown Him the Lord of love,Behold His hands and side,Rich wounds, yet visible above,In beauty glorified. No angel in the skyCan fully bear that sight,But downward bends His burning eyeAt mysteries so bright.

All In For Jesus!

Working Together for SafetyDear Brothers and Sisters, I care about each of you and I want you to be healthy, physically and spiritually. It has been so great to be able to worship together again, but we have to work together to make sure that we can worship in a safe way. The dramatic increase in coronavirus cases over the last two weeks shows that the virus is spreading as people become less cautious. Even my beloved Clemson football team has been affected, with 23 players testing positive, even though all apparently were asymptomatic. It is clear that it is easy for the virus to spread, even among those who feel perfectly healthy and have no symptoms. This is why we need to continue to be very vigilant. Just because the restaurants and businesses are opening up, it doesn’t mean that we are out of the woods. It seems certain that we will have parishioners who come down with the virus and attend Mass without realizing that they are infected and contagious. If we follow the guidelines and all wear masks, the risk of others becoming infected at Mass will stay low. I ask you to please look over the reminders below, and help us keep Saint Peter’s as safe as possible. If we work together, we can help each other stay healthy both physically and spiritually. Thank you so much. — Father Andrew

Pastor’s Post

Masks at Mass - Bishop Guglielmone has asked us all to wear masks or face coverings while at Mass. Please continue to do this, even though it is uncomfortable or you are sick of wearing one. Keep the mask on throughout the Mass, except for receiving Holy Communion, ensuring that both your mouth and your nose are always covered. The point of wearing a mask is that we don’t know if we have the virus and are asymptomatic. With a mask, we reduce the likelihood of passing the virus to those around us. So it is not about protecting ourselves but protecting our brothers and sisters at Mass. If we all wear masks, we are all helping to make our worship the safest it can be. Church Gatherings – Through the summer, we will continue to restrict in-person meetings on campus, other than Mass and Confession. Parish groups have been meeting online. Closed Office – Our staff is continuing to work primarily from home, or on special schedules. The parish office will continue to be closed to the public. If we can help you with something, please do not come to the office, but just give us a call instead. We will figure things out with you! Be Safe – If you are feeling even mildly sick, do not come to Mass. Don’t think, “Oh, I just have a normal cold.” We don’t want to take any chances of passing on a possible infection to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Likewise, if you are particularly at risk, please do not come to Sunday Mass. You still have a dispensation from the Bishop from your Sunday obligation. A great possibility is to come to one of the daily Masses, where you can have an entire section of pews to yourself.

Parish Life

Many Thanks! We want to thank Vickie Blake, Barbara Procida, Madeline Gauthier, Mary Ann Furjanic, Katie Craigmile, and Ann Craigmile for a wonderful job done in our recent parish mailing!

First Holy CommunionWe will be celebrating First Holy Communion on the last two weekends in July. Families, if you have any questions, please contact Sally at 716-361-4071.

Hospitality Teams at MassCan you help us have great weekend Masses? We are continuing to form hospitality teams of about six people to help at each Mass during this transition time. Guided by a staff member, these teams would help with the tasks done in normal times by our greeters and ushers. We would like to get enough people for two teams at each Mass, so that the teams can alternate weekends. To serve, please call or email us at the church office: 843-522-9555 or [email protected].

Feed the PriestsDo you love to cook? We have a group of parishioners who cook healthy meals for Father Andrew and Father Rodolfo, helping them to stay healthy. The meals are dropped off at the rectory twice a week, so with enough people participating each cook would prepare a meal every six weeks or so. If you are interested in helping, or have questions, please email May Hoffman at [email protected] or call her at 843-982-6241. Thank you!

Confessions Are Back!

Parish Life Center Saturdays 11am to 1pm What a great joy it is to be able to confess our sins and receive the Lord's pardon in the Sacrament of Reconciliation! Following the guidelines given to the parishes by Bishop Guglielmone, we are finally offering individual Confessions again, praise God! Instead of being held in the normal confessionals, the sacrament will be offered in the Walsh Palmetto Room, where there is a lot of open space and ventilation.  Enter in the social hall, as if you are going to coffee and donuts. When it is your turn, you will go into the Walsh Palmetto Room. The priests will be in opposite corners of the room, behind a cloth partition and wearing a face mask. Just stand on the other side of the partition and make your Confession in the normal manner. One of our staff members posed with Father Rodolfo in the photo above to help you visualize the setup.
