From the Editor’s desk…

The Session 2014 – 15 started with multifarious activities in the College.

An Exhibition and Workshop on Rare Manuscripts was organized which

provided a golden opportunity to the students to view very rare manuscripts

which are rich source of knowledge and cultural heritage.

Com Edufest highlighted many current issues of today’s society such as

Jan Dhan Yojna, e-World, e-Banking etc.

Celebration of National Unity Day and Run for Unity enabled the

students to realize the importance of national integration.

The musical extravaganza by Abhijit Ghoshal was a treat for both the

faculty members and the students.

Seminar on Mahilayon per Badhate Atyachaar va Aatmraksha ke Upaye

helped the students to know various steps taken by the administration for the

safety of women.

Career Counselling and Institution Industry Partnership Cell started

functioning and organized Seminars and Workshops which provided a

platform to gain information and training for various career opportunities

for the students.

Adding glory to the achievements of the College the students of BA and

B.Com. excelled in various Inter-Institutional competitions and secured

positions.

The College has the priviledge of starting three new courses in Computer

Application which will help in creating IT friendly atmosphere in the College.

The College is continuously shaping the students according to the need of

the changing society.

The Editorial Board has made sincere efforts to cover all activities held.

An Exhibition cum Workshop on Durlabh Pandulipiyon ki Pradarshini evam

Karyashala was organized by Depts. of Sanskrit, Anc. History, Philosophy and

Hindi in collaboration with Rajkiya Pandulipi Pustkalaya, Dept. of Culture, U.P.,

Allahabad.

The purpose of the exhibition

aware of the rich scriptures

and historical manuscripts

both published and

unpublished of India as well as

the world. The manuscripts

were displayed for visual

perception.

Dr. Amit Agnihotri gave a vivid demonstration on power point regarding the

source material of manuscripts, its writing material, its miniature form and

preservation technique. These manuscripts are a rich source of knowledge

about the cultural heritage of India.

Skill Oriented Special Lecture

December 1 – 6, 2014

A 6 days Skill Oriented Special Lecture cum Demonstration and Workshop on

Lac Cultivation, Soil & Water Testing, Adulteration, Pearl Cultivation and

Medicinal Plants was organized by Dept. of Geography under CPE Scheme

(Phase I).

The objective of the workshop was to enhance the employability and

enterprenaurship of the students through eco-friendly and bio-degradable

means for environment conservation. A number of special lectures and

demonstrations were held.

Abhijit Ghoshal

November 26, 2014

A Lecture cum Demonstration of renowned playback singer and musician

Shri Abhijit Ghoshal was organized by Dept. of Music on November 26, 2014

on the topic Chitrapat Sangeet mein Shastriya Shailiyon ka Prayog.

Abhijit Ghoshal one of the most versatile singers of today’s generation, has

been mesmerizing the music connoisseurs worldwide with his mellifluous

voice. Born and brought up in Allahabad, Abhijit Ghoshal has been the

finalist in the T.V. Reality Show SaReGaMaPa. He has many albums and songs

to his credit like Hum Ek Hum, Phir Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, Geet Govind and

Tathaastu to name a few. He has performed in the US, Australia, Dubai, Paris,

Belgium and Shanghai.

In his lecture cum demonstration on Chitrapat Sangeet mein Shastriya

Shailiyon ka Prayog Abhijit described the use of Harkat, Khatka, Murki, Kana,

Upkarna in singing. In his presentation he used straight note, chromatic note

and sustain note. He presented many film songs which were based on

different classical ragas and was highly applauded by all.

Com Edufest

November 5 - 12, 2014

A seven days programme of Academic Confluence was organized by the

Department of Commerce from November 5 - 12, 2014. A number of Special

Lectures by eminent scholars were organized.

A Special Lecture on the topic The e-World was delivered by Prof. K.K.

Bhutani, Director, UPTEC, Allahabad on Nov. 5, 2014.

Another Special Lecture on the topic Jan Dhan Yojna – A Step Towards

Economic Development was also organized. The Resource Person was

Prof. S.A. Ansari, Dept. of Commerce & Business Administration, A.U.

A Workshop and Apptitude Test was held in collaboration with UCO Bank,

Allahabad.

Various competitions such as Debate, Research Paper Presentation, Power

Nov. - Dec., 2014 Psychological Test of Students

General Mental Ability Test (Verbal and Non Verbal) was

administered on the students of BA III by the Psychologist Zoya

Parveen in the Educational Lab. This test is used to know the

general intellengence of the students.

Differential Apptitude Test (DAT) was administered on the

students of BA III and BA II. DAT helps in understanding the

interest abilities and apptitude of an individual in a particular

field. Individual counselling was provided according to the

profile prepared on the basis of the test results.
