July 2016 We are living in a time when our Muslim neighbors are under critical scrutiny and are often viewed with great misunder-standing and hostility. Our faith in Christ calls us to generous hospitality and to counter hate and fear with blessing. The session of LFPC has united around a simple act of proclaiming blessing to neighbors of the Muslim faith by placing the two yard signs on our property. The season of Ramadan—Islam’s holy days—runs from June 5 to July 6. During these days let us offer blessing and friendship with a message of acceptance and inclusion. If you are interested in participating in an interfaith Iftar dinner in which the daily fast is broken see the information hanging outside my office. -Pastor Garrett _______________________________________________________________________________ Greetings from Lundazi!- Mission Update & Prayers Charles & Melissa Johnson, our PCUSA mission co-workers have asked for prayers for them as they endeavor to learn Tumbuka, the language spoken by the people of Zambia in their location. Shallow Well Project

A LFPC Summer Mission Event

Water! This summer you’ll jump in it, splash in it, throw it, shoot it, slurp it and generally not treat it like the valuable commodity that it is. And that’s understandable. After all here in Central NY water is plentiful and easily accessible. The same cannot be said for those who live in Africa. Water and the procurement of it is a job! And it is a constant struggle and challenge. Forty billion hours a year are spent carrying water. But we here at LFPC can change that for a village in Zambia.

The CCAP (think Presbyterians in Zambia) has a really cool water project. They, partnering with donors, facilitate the construction of a shallow well. This is a covered water source thus creating a reliable and safe water supply for a village. Our PC USA Mission Co-worker, Charles Johnson has this to say about the project.

“One of the most impressive community development programs of CCAP/Zambia's holistic ministry is theShallow Wells/Protected Water program. To date, the program has provided 4,500 shallow wells to villages that must first request one. The program is a great example of participatory community development.”

The Mission Committee is believing that by Labor Day we will be able to donate a shallow well to a village in Zambia. The cost of a well is $450. Just as Jesus extended grace to the women at the well in John chapter 4, we can be a blessing to a village in Zambia. Please pray and seek what God wants you to do for this project. If you are moved to contribute, please clearly write “Well Fund” on the memo line of your check, or on the outside of your envelope if giving cash.

Liverpool First Presbyterian Men's Group membersparticipate in Wheelchair Ramp Build

Operation Northern Comfort has completed another wheelchair ramp on June 27, 2016. Therecipient in this case was in Radisson and the ramp had to meet that community's standards. This

wheelchair ramp was for a lady who had a failed kidney transplant and is now on dialysis.Additionally, she is recovering from hip replacement. The pre fabrication took place on Friday

June 24 and Joe Gorman was part of that effort. Volunteers, including Rick Pelotte, gathered onMonday to complete the installation. Working under a large tarp the job was completed despite

the rain. The completed ramp was a professional job for a really nice and appreciative client. Whata thrill to watch her run that scooter out to send off some mail! Liverpool First Presbyterian Men's

Group has participated in 6 wheelchair ramp builds with Operation Northern Comfort and lookforward to many more builds in the future.

items away. ** We are a Green Church, reuse, recycle and re-use, we do not use a lot ofstyrofoam. Remember we are a family and need to all do our part to keep the kitchen clean and pest free. "
