    Thank you for your co-operation.

    PANIC ATTACKS

We have already mentioned negative thoughts, and these can be the cause of a PANIC ATTACKstarting. We can easily recognize what we feel, but dont always recognize the thought that came

    before the feeling.

It is useful therefore to ask yourself, What was I just thinking about?

Once identified, if irrational, it can be challenged.

    e.g. IRRATIONAL RATIONAL CHALLENGE

People will think Im stupid I Dont know what anyone

    Else is thinking. It doesnt

    Really matter anyway.

    I know Im not stupid.

By challenging our thoughts in this way we not only slow down the release of adrenaline, but weimprove how we feel about ourselves.

    So, learn to

CATCH THE THOUGHT + POSITIVELY CHALLENGE IT!

The Chinese legend of the Dragon encourages us to respect each

other and not to take advantage. Recently, a man whosemembership had expired for two years and had not rejoined

came to the office needing to use the phone and asked for a

translation service. He expects us to be here to help but is not

repared to contribute, whilst others fully support NCWA. Please

make sure your membership is up-to-date so that we can be here

    when you need us.

    Celebrating Volunteering Event

    on 6th

June 2009 at the Old Market Square

Our chairman Thomas and two other volunteers helped set up

the stall which we ran from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There was

some rain and wind in the morning but this didnt put us off.

We started with Thomas demonstrating Chinese calligraphy.

Then Jennifer showed us how to make paper flowers which we

all tried and followed her step by step. When the flowers were

finished, they looked very beautiful and we enjoyed it very

    much.

The Tai Chi performance was delayed because of the rain butwhen Winnie stepped on to the stage people begin to gather

round. Everyone was very impressed and would have liked it to

    go on longer.

Our Chinese brush painting tutor Mr Peter Millward then gave

us a demonstration. He did four or five beautiful pictures of

bamboo and flowers in just five minutes. He made it look soeasy to do.

Lastly our Mandarin Teacher Dan Peng who has been teaching

mandarin at the Chinese Welfare since March gave us all a

lesson. She made learning mandarin very interesting.

A big thank you to all who came along and took part.
