_______________________________________________________________________________________
MASS ATTENDANCE
Parishioners must sign up for Mass attendance via
flocknote sign-up (https://stpiusxchurch.flocknote.com/
signup/186) or visit the parish website for the link. If you
would like to sign up but do not have internet access,
please contact the parish office. Please enter through the
north or south double doors. You will be greeted by a
hospitality minister and directed to your seat.
YOUTUBE BROADCAST OF LITURGIES
St. Pius X will continue broadcasting Daily and Weekend
liturgies for the benefit of individuals who are unable to
attend Mass in person. The Diocesan Masses will
continue to be available every Sunday on channel 3 at
7:30am; and MyTV at 3.2 at 9am. Those attending
Mass online or via television are invited to receive
communion in the South entryway of the church begin-
ning at 10:45 am.
PARISH CONTACTS
If you have not been receiving email updates or have
not been contacted by a parish volunteer, please con-
sider updating your contact information. Submit your
contact information (including address, phone number(s)
and email address) by clicking the link under the
“Updating Contacts” area of the St. Pius X homepage
and we will update our records.
INDIVIDUAL PRAYER AND RECONCILIATION
The church will remain open for individual prayer
Monday - Saturday from 9 am - 4 pm. Father Russ will
offer the sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesdays (5
pm to 6 pm) and Saturdays (3 pm to 4 pm) or by
appointment, contact Father Russ directly at 507-517-
4235. It is requested for you to wear a mask when enter-
ing the church.
Volunteers
Now that we are moving forward with
the resumption of public Masses, there is
a need for volunteers to help make this
happen. The bottom line with this is: if
we do not have the volunteers to assist St. Pius in its
resumption of public Masses, the Masses cannot
happen. This is part of the “new normal” we all need
to accept. I am very well aware that St. Pius is a
Senior Parish and if we are to follow protocol people
who are 65 or older are encouraged not to attend
public gatherings during the pandemic. So there is a
need for St. Pius’ “younger” parishioners to step up to
the plate here so that we can continue celebrating
public Masses.
If you are scheduled to volunteer on a certain Sunday,
please make note of this more so than you have in the
past. St. Pius NEEDS you to be present as a volunteer
for the parish at this time of getting used to the “new
normal.” If by chance you cannot volunteer for your
scheduled Mass please make sure you call the office
ahead of time so that we can make arrangements.
Our Covid19 Task Force here at Pius desires a phase in
approach with this new normal and if we are to add
another weekend Mass, we will need volunteers to
make that happen. St. Pius will also add weekday
Masses on the calendar. We will begin this by
celebrating two weekday Masses per week –
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm. Again, in
order for this happen, volunteers will be needed.
There will be a need for 4 people – 1 each by the
South and North doors and 2 inside the church to
direct seating. I certainly can take care of the Mass.
Surreal time we are in, no doubt, and we are all trying
our best to navigate. We need to keep our public
celebrations of Mass as safe as we possibly can. If
someone contracts the virus and they trace the virus
back to St. Pius, we will need to shut down for a time.
I hope we are praying this does not occur. In order
for the unfortunate NOT to happen, St. Pius.
volunteers will need to play a huge role. Please
remain committed to your parish during this
pandemic, although in a different manner, so that we
can safely celebrate the Mass.

ANNUAL KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS
CORN ON THE COB SALE
In the coming weeks the Knights of
Columbus Bishop Fitzgerald 4
th
Degree
Assembly will be selling fresh picked,
local corn on the cob. Due to the de-
mand from last year, we will have more
corn available. The price remains at $5/
dozen and $3/half dozen and we will be selling it
from the NORTH DOOR EXIT. We don’t know
exactly when the corn will be available as it is picked/
bagged and delivered, so it will be announced at the
weekend masses. When that occurs, look for the big
white pickup truck for the KC CORN ON THE
COB! It’s the freshest and best corn you’ll ever have.

Scrip Rebate Update
SCRIP is a gift card or certificate that
can be used like cash at participating
stores. Cards and certificates are
purchased at face value and a percentage of that
purchase can be directed to St. Pius X in the form of a
rebate. Currently, we have 12 families who direct
their rebate back to St. Pius X, using the SCRIP
program.
Scrip Summer Hours at Lourdes High School:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00am - 1:00pm. Masks
are required. Markers will be in place on the floor for
social distancing. Walk-in purchases would be from
existing limited stock, so it is best to pre-order if
possible. No Scrip sales at Church offices at this time.
Pre-order purchases are strongly encouraged by
Monday morning 10:00am deadline: Place your
orders at ShopWithScrip.com. Email your order to
Teresa Goodrich at [email protected]. Leave a
phone order at 507-280-0349. Pre-orders will be
available for pickup starting Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

Giving Thanks For Summer
Father, Creator of all, thank You for
summer!
Thank You for the warmth of the sun and
the increased daylight. Thank You for the
beauty I see all around me and for the
opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your
creation. Thank You for the increased time I
have to be with my friends and family, and
for the more casual pace of the summer
season. Draw me closer to You this summer.
Teach me how I can pray no matter where I
am or what I am doing. Warm my soul with
the awareness of Your presence and light
my path with Your Word and Counsel. As I
enjoy Your creation, create in me a pure
heart and a hunger and a thirst for You.

St James Coffee was
founded in 2012 as a
unique response to the
Catholic Church’s call for a
New Evangelization. We
have stayed open through
the generosity of donors, the dedication of great
volunteers and customers, and mostly from the
grace of God.
We now face our biggest challenge. The coronavirus
pandemic has left us drastically short of funding as
we are unable to access our main fundraising events:
the annual BrewHaHa and the Ed-Ventures pilgrim-
ages. We currently have approximately $8000
which will hopefully get us into mid-August before
we shut down permanently. During the mandated
shutdown, we were blessed to receive some much
needed and donated remodeling and updating that
cost us $2500 in materials. Please help us keep the
doors open and the mission alive. A go fund me
page has been set up: https://

SOW Summer FUNdraiser 2020!
In 2016, Father John Lasuba realized a longtime
dream when Seeds of Wisdom in South Sudan
opened a school in his hometown of Pukuka, South
Sudan. When turmoil erupted, it forced the closure
of the school, and many families took refuge in
nearby Uganda. Thanks to generous benefactors,
Seeds of Wisdom’s work educating the children goes
on, with more than 200 students enrolled in Catholic
boarding schools or learning at sites in the
refugee camps that are staffed by our teachers.
Seeds of Wisdom is holding a SUMMER FUNdraiser
2020! beginning this month and concluding with a
virtual live event in August. A self-guided Walk/Run/
Ride will give participants the chance to get some
great exercise and at the same time support our
mission. There also will be an online silent auction
from Aug. 13-23 with a variety of items and a
live online program with special guests on Aug. 23.
