Currently, I have completed my Fundamentals, Psychiatric, and Medical/Surgical clinical rotations, so I am qualified to start IVs, change sterile dressings, place nasogastric tubes, perform nasogastric and tracheostomy suction, and perform other needed nursing skills. Student Nurse Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant Eden Village Retirement Home - Glen Carbon, IL - February 2016 to April 2016 Responsibilities I perform the same duties as a CNA: I wake residents up and take their morning vitals, then I toilet, dress, and groom them before taking them to breakfast. During breakfast I help set up the patients' meals and then either supervise or assist them with eating the meal. After that, I either return patients to their room or take them to the common area or day room, whatever their preference is. I attend to their basic, attentive, and emotional needs until lunch, where we repeat the same process as we did for breakfast. At night, I help the residents prepare for the next day and go to bed. Accomplishments During this time I have been a caring staff member who has had no record of incidents or misconduct. Skills Used During my time at Eden Village I have become acquainted with the following assistive machinery: Wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, Sit-to-stands, wheelchair washers, and public/private showers. I have also demonstrated my ability to express compassion and empathy towards and advocate for the residents under my charge. Each day I receive an order for computer equipment to be shipped to different locations. I make sure theorders are placed in front of the appropriate loading dock, and mark each item in a different color related to itsdestination. I supervise forklift drivers while the order is being loaded into the semi trailer, in order to maximizetrailer space and ensure items are securely stationed for their ride. After the order is loaded, I complete andcompile paperwork and bills so the truck driver has everything needed to proceed with delivering the order.

AccomplishmentsI am responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of costly computer equipment, industrial batteries, and cellphone tower parts to the customer.

Skills UsedCritical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are the most important skills for this job. Mistakes willpotentially cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages, so every order has to be correctand undamaged before it leaves the warehouse.

-I was responsible for operating and maintaining a cash register in a busy natural health food store.
