Ltd Limited could be described as thedisplay industry’s Starship Enterprise:boldly going where no-one has gonebefore! Pushing the boundaries of largeformat graphics production to createinnovative effects has brought thecompany to the attention of someimpressive clients such as HSBC,L’Oreal, Tate Britain and Unilever. At Ltd Limited’s Bethnal Green facility,co-directors Craig Beecher andSeymour Reeves are passionate aboutwhat they have achieved in a relativelyshort space of time.

Ltd Limited is only six years young, but Craig andSeymour have 20 years of experience and researchinto substrates, printing, finishing and installationbehind them - and it shows. The company has quicklymade an impact on the industry with its fresh andoriginal approach and the quality of the work itproduces. Working closely with clients at the creativestage means that the company can inspire andinfluence the end result. It’s this inventiveness whichhas attracted blue chip clients.

The company has a reputation for experimenting withthe printers and materials it uses to produce fantasticresults for retailers, galleries, exhibitions and interiors.Over the few months since it invested in a 64" EpsonStylus Pro GS6000 eco-solvent type printer, it hasused many different media to produce stunning interiorgraphics to create high-impact and dynamic workenvironments. This is the fastest growth area of thebusiness and the most creative sector it works in. “Until relatively recently, architects were not really thatinterested in interiors - but they have realised theimpact and effect interior graphics can produce, andwe work with them to achieve a wide variety of effectson walls, glass, wood and metal,” said Craig.

Consistent and high quality results are paramount inthe demanding and fast growing world of interiorgraphics. Seymour has used Epson printers for manyyears and it’s the reliability of Epson engineering thatwas an important element behind the decision to buythe Epson Stylus Pro GS6000. “This machine ticks allthe boxes,” he says. “We needed a high quality,

affordable printer that had high ecological integrity andproduced consistent manifestations. The price point isright, the features are right and it keeps the qualityacross paper, backlit and transparent material. We liketo go outside our comfort zone to achieve excitingeffects. We are producing crisp and smooth gradation,colour-consistent gel tints on transparent andtranslucent material for office interiors that are trulyimpressive and long-lasting.”

Craig and Seymour clearly relish a challenge and havetravelled the world to source innovative new media toachieve imaginative results. “We believe we havedeveloped the most comprehensive range ofsubstrates available and we never stop in thisresearch,” adds Seymour. It’s this extensive knowledgeof media and substrates that has allowed the companyto create effects that are unique to Ltd Limited. It’s ahighly competitive market and Ltd Limited keepsdetails of its substrates and techniques very close to itscollective chests. “We view this expertise as ourintellectual property and we have invested a great dealof time, money and energy into it. We are not about togive our secrets away, despite our competitors’ manyefforts to uncover them,” said Craig.

A new initiative, for example, is Wallapeel™. Developedfor those occasions where short term graphics areneeded, Wallapeel is a process producing rich, vibrantcolours on an adhesive substrate which can bemounted directly onto internal walls and removed easilywithout leaving any residue. Wallapeel was recentlydemonstrated at the Idea Generation Gallery, where asoaring 800 sq foot image of Pete Fowler’s surreal andpsychedelic “Monsterism Island” was put on a wall forthe three days of the ‘Monsters Inked: Inside the Mindsof the Gods of Monsters’ event in April.

Ltd Limited is tireless in its search for new graphiceffects and production techniques. “Not manycompanies are as brave as us, but we are securingand winning new business as a direct result of what wecan achieve,” said Craig.

Recent projectsTaylor Wessing: the brief was to provide an officeenvironment that felt like walking into a forest. LtdLimited achieved the effect by extensively testingdifferent media and layering substrates to create aunique atmosphere over three floors. In addition, high-impact lightbox images were produced for thereception area (design and artwork by Ltd Limited inconjunction with Sheppard Robson Architects).

Chapman Taylor Architects: interior graphics wereprinted onto gloss film for the company’s new Londonoffices. Artwork was tested on films with different levelsof translucency, and was colour adjusted to createbright, semi-translucent graphics.

Boxfresh: interior graphics were printed onto frostedfilm for the new Boxfresh headquarters. Frosted filmgraphics, in black and white and colour, were appliedto internal glass portioning, creating a continuousdesign running along three walls up to 20m long.

Newham Town Hall: Ltd Limited has just completedproduction of interior graphics for the new building nearLondon’s City Airport. Wallpaper and semi-translucentglass coverings were produced and installedthroughout the building.
