The Jimmie Johnson Foundation is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need.

We are humbled and amazed by what we have been able to

accomplish through the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. The

foundation’s success is a direct result of the support from our family,

friends, fans and corporate partners. We can’t thank you enough for

everything you have done!

From a state-of-the-art bowling center to four Habitat for Humanity

homes to education grants nationwide, we are very proud of the

impact we have been able to make in the lives of children and

families. We are thrilled to share that we have contributed more

than $3 million to various organizations to date.

In 2009, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation partnered with

Lowe’s to create the Jimmie Johnson Foundation/Lowe’s

Toolbox for Education Champions Grant program. In its

inaugural year, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation distr ibuted

more than $922,000 to K-12 educational programs in Jimmie

and Chandra’s hometowns in Cali fornia and Oklahoma and

where they currently l ive in North Carol ina. The foundation is

committed to providing educators and parents with the tools

necessary to enable chi ldren to succeed.

Through the Jimmie Johnson Foundation/Lowe’s Champions

Grant process, schools apply for grants to bui ld new projects,

enhance existing programs or create new ones. We are

honored to be able to help meet the growing needs of today’s

public schools.

The Jimmie Johnson Foundation funded the construction of

four single-family homes on the newly created Foundation

Lane in El Cajon, Cali fornia. Chandra and Jimmie and the

foundation team worked alongside the San Diego Habitat for

Humanity staff through the duration of the project, including

land selection, permitt ing, design, construction, and a block

party celebration when the homes were complete.

Each home is approximately 1,280 square feet with three

bedrooms and 1¾ baths. Several Jimmie Johnson Foundation

partners came on board to assist with the construction

process. Lowe’s contributed bui lding materials and

volunteers, Iron Horse Grading provided the grading work

for the site, Samsung generously donated the washers, dryers

and dishwashers for each house, and the employees of Jimmie

Johnson Kearny Mesa Chevrolet volunteered on the site, to

name a few.

A special thank you to al l of the in-kind partners and

volunteers who made the dream of homeownership a

real ity for the famil ies on Foundation Lane.

The Jimmie Johnson Foundation supports the Hendrick

Marrow Program’s Annual Learn Live Hope golf tournament

and Racing to Save Lives half marathon 5k and 1k races.

In addit ion, the foundation partnered with the Be The

Match Foundation in the NASCAR Pepsi Refresh Campaign

competit ion to win $100,000 for the Transplant Grants for

Kids Program.

One of the highl ights for Jimmie is granting

wishes for chi ldren with l i fe-threatening medical

condit ions. He has the opportunity to grant several

wishes at the racetrack each year through the

Make-A-Wish Foundation®. In addit ion, Chandra

and Jimmie have served on the Make-A-Wish®

National Advisory Council since 2005.

The foundation also hosts an annual Wish Lunch

to accommodate other wish-granting organizations

for chi ldren and adults including the Dream

Foundation, Kid’s Wish Network, the Granted Wish

Foundation and more.

The Jimmie Johnson Foundation funded the construction of

Jimmie Johnson’s Victory Lanes, a four lane state-of-the-art

bowling center at Victory Junction, which provides camping

experiences free of charge to chi ldren with chronic and l i fe-

threatening i l lnesses. The bowling center al lows these special

kids to experience the chi ldhood joy of bowling their f irst

str ike in the comfort of a medical ly safe environment.

The foundation launched the Helmet of Hope program in

2008 to give fans and media members across the country

the opportunity to nominate their charity of choice to be

featured on Jimmie’s race helmet. Jimmie wears the Helmet

of Hope for the fal l race at Auto Club Speedway in Cali fornia.

Components of the program have included grants as well as a

commemorative T-shirt. To top it off, Jimmie has won the race

each t ime he has worn the Helmet of Hope.

Helmet of Hope Initiative is a great honor and I am overwhelmed with

My nephew was diagnosed with Ph+ALL in 2006….We do not want

another child to be diagnosed with cancer and suffer through

chemo and radiation. Featuring St. Baldrick’s Foundation on Jimmie’s

helmet will bring much needed attention to this cause.

In 2008, Jimmie joined an al l-star team of

celebrit ies and athletes as part of the Samsung

Hope for Children program. Fel low participants

include Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and Matthew

McConaughey. Each year, the foundation partners

with Samsung and Lowe’s in a campaign to help

chi ldren l ive, learn and thrive.

The foundation’s signature fundraising event is the Jimmie

Johnson Foundation Annual Golf Tournament presented by

Lowe’s. The event is hosted each fal l at The Grand Del Mar

in San Diego, Cali fornia.

The tournament kicks off with a dinner, auction and special

performance on Tuesday night.

Past performers have included Gavin DeGraw, Nick Lachey

and comedian John Pinette. The next day, golfers gather for

a day of fun in the sun complete with Callaway gift bags and

their very own forecaddie.

More than $1.3 mil l ion in proceeds from the event have been

contributed to the San Diego community.

On Track with the Jimmie Johnson Foundation

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, partners, fel low

drivers and fr iends, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation logo has

now been carried on a Sprint Cup car, a Nationwide Series

car, a Camping World Series East car, a Funny car, a dirt Late

Model stock car, and a Pace car.

Ride of a Lifetime

Jimmie offers the chance for ten individuals to take the r ide

of a l i fet ime as he drives the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet for

10 laps around Charlotte Motor Speedway. The experience

includes photographs and a DVD of the r ide. Passengers

can l isten to Jimmie via a two-way radio as he describes the

nuances and banking of the track.

The eBay Giving Works program has been one of the

foundation’s anchor fundraising programs since its

inception. The foundation hosts two 10-day auctions each

month at www.ebay.com/j immiejohnsonfoundation. eBay

members have the opportunity to bid on unique autographed

memorabil ia, one-of-a-kind experiences, and much more. To

date, more than $360,000 has been raised through the eBay

program. Our eBay winners are avid supporters!

Another way eBay members can get involved with the

foundation is through the Community Sel l ing program.

Sel lers can l ist their items on eBay and select to donate

between 10-100% of the proceeds to the Jimmie Johnson

Foundation.

I am pleased to present the Jimmie Johnson Foundation

Report to the Community Volume 2. It has been an

incredibly fun project to pul l together this report. As we

wrote the narrative and selected the pictures, it was amazing

to think about the past several years and what we have

accomplished. It would not have been possible without your

support and generosity.

The fundraising programs we began at the inception of the

foundation have real ly taken shape. In addit ion, our partner

programs have al lowed us to support chi ldren and famil ies

in need in a variety of ways, from granting their wishes, to

putt ing roofs over their heads, to ensuring they have the

tools they need to succeed in school.

I am honored to serve as Executive Director of the Jimmie

Johnson Foundation. I tel l people on a dai ly basis I have the
