Last week’s disappointing 1-4 loss to APIA has seen our Rangers plummet to 8th place BUT a win tonight v Wolves 4th just 2pts ahead gets us right back into the mix. Highlighting just how tight the competition is and dropping points any w/e could be fatal to the seasons outcome! Our 20s 8th after a solid win over APIA are in the position to force their way to the edge of the pack with a win over Wolves in 5th place 5pts ahead. Again a tight competition. After back-to-back losses, Mt Druitt Town Rangers will be fired up to take all three points when they host a resurgent Wollongong Wolves at Popondetta Park on Saturday.

The Rangers suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat at the hands of APIA last round and have now not tasted victory in five weeks.

The Stewart Montgomery coached side are in desperate need of a win to keep their finals hopes alive.

Veterans Tarek Elrich, Marc Warren and Carlos Saliadarre will need to lead the charge this week to help Mt Druitt bounce back after a poor performance while a lot of responsibility will rest on the shoulders of key marksman Jack Stewart.

They will be up against a Wollongong side that is back into the top five for the first time this season and finding form.

They claimed a 2-1 win against Manly United in Round 13 to notch their third victory in four weeks.

Leroy Jennings had another strong game last week and is finding form for his new club.

Goalkeeper Hayden Durose is another player who could be vital to their chances this week.

Luke Wilkshire’s men have slipped under the radar in recent weeks but positive results have seen them move heads all around the NPL NSW Men’s competition.

Mt Druitt is a talented squad, but do they have what it takes to shake their recent struggles against a Wollongong team flying high on confidence?

This is a thrilling clash you won’t want to miss.

APIA Leichhardt 4 – Mt Druitt Town Rangers 1 at Lambert Park

APIA Leichardt secured a huge three points with a convincing 4-1 defeat of Mt Druitt Town Rangers at Lambert Park on Saturday evening.

A double to Peter Kekeris and goals to Franco Parisi and Blake Powell well and truly buried a converted penalty from Mt Druitt’s Jack Stewart to win the match for the home side.

The win will help build crucial momentum for APIA as they prepare to face traditional rivals Sydney Olympic in the Festival of Football at Lambert Park on Sunday 30th May.

APIA move to sixth on the ladder only two points outside the top five, while Mt Druitt drop to eighth.

Manly United 1 – Wollongong Wolves 2 at Cromer Park

The Wollongong Wolves re-entered the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s top five after scoring a goal in each half to secure a valuable 2-1 victory over Manly United at Cromer Park.

Goals from Leroy Jennings and Liam Wille cancelled out Dejan Pandurevic‘s fifth goal of the season to draw Luke Wilkshire’s men level on points with the Northern Beaches club.

Jennings opened the scoring in the 13th minute for the visiting Wolves to help them go into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Manly hit back early in the second stanza through Pandurevic, but the Wolves would hit back soon after with Liam Wille netting the winner 20 minutes from time.
