Jerrys Journal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back!

Congratulations Miss Renneberg

From next week, Miss Renneberg will be the Relieving Principal at Milbrodale Public School. This is a big change

and a great opportunity for Michele. She will be missed by all of us at Jerrys Plains.

Staffing

This year, Mrs Holt will continue to teach the 3-6 class, and Miss Schreiber will teach the K-2 class. We also wel-

come Mrs Jess Martin to our school. Mrs Martin will be teaching the Jerrys Juniors and Ready4School programs.

Whilst Miss Renneberg is at Milbrodale, Mrs Holt will step into the Instructional Leader position.

COVID-19 Update

All NSW Government schools are now required to provide the Service NSW QR code for visitors to use. This is to

assist NSW Health with fast access to accurate and complete electronic records, should they be required, so that

people who may have been in contact with a person with COVID-19 are alerted quickly and comply with appropri-

ate health advice.

If you are entering the school, please scan the QR code on the gate to check-in.

Once inside the school, you will still need to sign the visitor log book, as per normal.

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

Late last year, it was announced that Jerrys Plains Public School had been approved for Out Of School Hours Care in

2021. The process to establish the OSHC is underway. At this point, I do not have a starting date.

Jerrys 200 Years

With the Jerrys Plains bicentennial approaching, we are looking for somebody from the community who may be

able to share their knowledge of the history of Jerrys Plains with our students. If you think you may be able to help

us, please contact the school.

Chickens Thanks to Jack, Tahlia and Julie for donating a number of chickens and a special thank you to Julie for keeping them

safe over the Christmas holidays. We have collected a number of eggs already this week. The students have voted

on names for them. They are: Stumpy, Rosie, Fluffy, Ally, Alaska, Rainbow and Minecraft

Finally, thanks to the Jerrys Plains Service Station for donating bags of ice at the end of

last year. Michael Frith Principal.

K-2 Classroom

Students have begun training for their Literacy Stations. In this picture

they are completing ‘Read to Self’ to become better

readers!

We have had a great start to 2021 in the K-2 classroom. So many familiar faces, and some new faces too. Ameya, David and Jayden have fitted into

our class beautifully. We can’t wait for the year ahead!

A peek at the week

Welcome back to another exciting year! Our new theme this year is ‘Around the

World’.

In light of our new theme, students enjoyed creating a profile and flag of their favour-

ite country to add to our new classroom display.

Brought to you by Kaye Care

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2021. We hope everyone had a wonderful, well deserved holiday and are look-ing forward to a safe smooth year ahead. Kaye’s kids have settled back in very well we certainly missed those little faces and are happy to see you all back . We had Jayden, David, Elise and Zarli go off to big school. We wish them all the best starting new adventures at kindy. We would like to welcome 2 beautiful healthy baby boys over the Christmas break. We have had the pleasure to meet baby Hamish, Lilly’s brother, and baby Alex, Lara’s brother. A huge congratulations to Kate and Greggy, Paula

and Des

Zarli celebrated her 5th birthday with her daddy hosting her party with her friends . We welcome baby Mar-go, she is Edward’s little sister and has settled well. Lara has been happy bopping around to her favourite songs and using puppets for prop play. The kids have been freely exploring their environment both indoors and outdoors. Water play, foam and bubbles being the most popular with them. Billy, Lilly, Malachite and Edward have been interested in paint by mixing col-ours, feeling the texture and creating different colours. Hand printing has become very interesting to them. We have added some new items to home corner to make this area very comfy, also our quiet time area has had some soft furnishings added to give a peaceful feeling along with meditation music in the background. Although Covid has eased a tad we are certainly continuing with our safe hygiene practices, hand washing being the focus. We do ask if you need to visit Kayecare to please ring ahead and sign in as you enter. Please note the hours and days at Kayecare have changed. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only—the hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm. If any parent has an emergency and needs to change hours I am more than happy to fit in where I can.

Have a wonderful week. Until next time, stay safe and be happy Take care, Kaye.
