Thank you all for the faithfulness, generosity, and joy which made 2017 another full year

of effective ministry and mission at Disciples United Methodist Church!

I give praise to God and celebrate with you for the good news that we have ended the

year with all our financial obligations met including 100% of our Rainbow Covenant goal!

Let us enter into 2018 with the hope and joy of the season, expecting new

opportunities to grow in faith and new challenges to meet together.

As a faith community we share our joys and sorrows with one another,

which strengthens us and the work of ministry that we share.

I look forward to the journey that this new year will bring and wish you all

a happy and healthy New Year!

Potato Bars are Back!

Beginning in January, the events will sup-

port Relay for Life. They will be the first

Sunday of the month, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, Mar. 4,

and April 8. (Apr. 1 is Easter)

All are invited to bring their neighbors and

friends and enjoy the fellowship and food

beginning at 11 am after worship!

Ogle County Relay for Life will be Saturday,

April 21 at the United Church of Byron,

from 1-4 pm.

Communion Stewards Needed

Anyone interested in serving the

church as a Communion Steward may

talk to Molly Baker after worship.

Responsibilities include

setting up for commun-

ion by 9:15 am, and

cleaning up following the

service.

Christmas Decorations

Volunteers are needed to help take

down Christmas decorations and store

them away for next year.

Please come Wednesday, Jan. 10 or Fri-

day, Jan. 12 from 10 am to 12 pm if you

can help.

Winter Weather Note

Worship will not be cancelled due to bad

weather. Please use caution if you come to

service if the weather is questionable.

We don’t want anyone to be unsafe when

traveling.

The office will be open during the week un-

less the snow is too bad. If in doubt,

please call first if you will be coming over,

to be sure someone is here.

Worship Sign-up Sheet for 2018 is

Ready

Please consider assisting on Sundays during

morning Worship and Coffee Hour.

Help is always need to be worship leader,

greeter, usher, refreshments, and coffee hour.

A sign-up sheet for January and February is on

the hallway table.
