MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-Jan 2018 1. Navodaya Exams scheduled to take place on 9 th Feb 2018 were postponed by the Education Department and will now be conducted on 21 st April 2018. 2. Alumni Meet 2018 at NIT Jamshedpur was a huge success for Sankalp Team. The Meet witnessed a silver jubilee get together of 1989 batch and Sankalp Team was invited to present their cause to mobilize support. The meet turned out to be immensely successful as Shri Dhananjay Kumar of 89 batch and 5 of his batch mates agreed to sponsor 9 underprivileged children. 3. Sankalp inaugurated its 17 th National Centre at Ikchapur Basti near NIT Jamshedpur premises. The centre would cater to senior boys from NIT Centre and would also admit new students from Ikchapur Basti. This has helped Sankalp to cut down on tutor payment earlier made to hired teachers for junior batches at NIT Centre. Also, it would help to maintain the teacher: pupil ratio at both the centres. 4. Leadership development program was held to motivate students from 2017 and 2018 batches 5. Sankalp President was invited to deliver a keynote lecture on Social Entrepreneurship at SIGMA Annual Festival organized by XLRI, Jamshedpur 6. MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-Jan 2018

1. Navodaya Exams scheduled to take place on 9th Feb 2018 were postponed by the

Education Department and will now be conducted on 21st April 2018.

2. Alumni Meet 2018 at NIT Jamshedpur was a huge success for Sankalp Team. The

Meet witnessed a silver jubilee get together of 1989 batch and Sankalp Team was

invited to present their cause to mobilize support. The meet turned out to be

immensely successful as Shri Dhananjay Kumar of 89 batch and 5 of his batch mates

3. Sankalp inaugurated its 17th National Centre at Ikchapur Basti near NIT Jamshedpur

Minutes of meeting is as below 1. 30 volunteers are there in examination team from 2nd year. 3rd year coordinators will divide the role among them

2. For Mohan Nagar, Nit Centre and Ikchapur centre all examination team will be present at the centre during test for explaining the questions if students need 3. Syllabus will be previous month portion from sanjeevani (like Jan syllabus for Feb CT) 4. There will be a demo for students in which examination team will guide them how to attempt examination questions effectively. time utilisation and English questions attempt is our primary focus 5. For Senior students there will be a 10 marks quiz every month. Questions will be prepared by volunteers who teach them and will be prepared by examination team 6. Science syllabus for class 3 and 4 will be included 7. We also need to include class 10th syllabus as our upcoming batches of Sankalp will need it 8. Questions will be prepared by 2nd year and will be verified by 3rd year before printing

13. Meeting was organized with the sponsored students at Mohan Nagar Centre to

motivate them to work hard and live up to the expectations of their sponsors.

14. Cloth donation was organized at Imli Chauk Centre

15. Mathematics Classes are now being taken by President at Imli Chauk Centre. The first

topic covered was Power and Exponents.

16. New Teacher for taking English Classes at Imli Chauk centre has been recruited. Ms.

Shreya is a class 11th student in a private English medium school and is a social

enthusiast. She would be paid from February 2018

17. Sankalp T-Shirt was distributed to Volunteers as mark of their distinctiveness as

Sankalp volunteer.

18. Empowered Kids Foundation, our support NGO for Orissa based centres distributed

bag for the kids enrolled at the centre.

19. Archana, a telco centre student sponsored by Sankalp won first prize in creative

writing competition at WHEELS Telco, an annual school competition held in the

schools of Telco Area, Jamshedpur

20. Mr. Amit Kumar, Assistant Commandant with the Home Ministry visited our Giridih

Centre and motivated children to work hard to achieve their goals and make their

dreams come true.

21. Republic Day was celebrated with full patriotic vigour across all the Sankalp centres

and students who scored high marks in the monthly common test were awarded.

22. Poetry Competition was held at Telco, Ikchapur, NIT, Mohan Nagar and Imli chauk

Centre

23. Stationery distribution was organized at Mohan Nagar Centre

24. Hemant Singh Hansda* sir, currently holding the post of technical assistant at our

Mechanical dep’t wishes to open a Sankalp centre at his village named *Narayan

Bera*, Kharsawan which is about 60 kms from NIT campus and has population of

around 400 people. His village has a govt school up to 8th.After 8th standard girls

drop out. Boys complete their 12th from a nearby govt school (16km away from their

village). Boys who wish to pursue their graduation must attend college which is 36

km from their village. Sankalp Team will evaluate the case and take the decision

accordingly.

25. Both Sankalp-A pledge to change and Sankalp Volunteers group FB page noted huge

1. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special

mention was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making

the different activities successful
