There are different types of Internal Components

Processor

Memory

Adapter Cards

Storage Devices

Input and Output Devices

ProcessorCentral Processing Unit (CPU) the heart of the computer, it is the component in a digital computer capable of executing a program. The speed of the CPU is measure in megahertz. A 1MHz CPU can be one million CPU cycles in one second. The CPU is 32 bit and measured in MpZ.

Adapter CardsThere a different types of adapter cards such as: PCI, PCIe and PCMCIA.

Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI/PCIe) is a connection interface for attaching computer peripherals to a PC's motherboard or main an circuit board and PCIe is an serial links called lanes. Every lane of the PCIe is a dual link such as simultaneously receiving and transmitting.

Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) is a consisting of some 500 companies that has developed a standard for small, credit card-sized devices, this is called PC Cards.

Processor Communication is a Hardware-based service processors, also known as management processors, work with hardware instrumentation and systems management software and are important for problem notification and resolution

There are different types of memory devices such as: ROM, RAM , Flash Memory and EPROM.

Random Access Memory (RAM) provides space for your computer to read and write data to be accessed by the CPU. Read Only Memory (ROM) is a data that has been pre-recorded. Once data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and it can only be read.

ERPROM ( Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) is a type of memory that has its contents until it is fixed to ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light clears its contents, making it possible to reprogram the memory.

Flash Memory is a computer memory chip that stores information without a power source. It is often used in portable electronics, such as music devices, smartphones and digital cameras.

Storage Devices is device capable of storing data. The term usually refers to mass storage devices, such as disk and tape drives.

An example of Internal Storage Devices is Hard Drive and an External Device example is RAM.

Some Storage Devices are: SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment), PATA (Parallel ATA), SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) and SOLID STATE.

The different Hard Ware Devices are: ATA Disk Drives, Parallel (Ultra) ATA Disks, Serial ATA Disks and FireWire Disk Drives.

Hard Ware - Formatting and Partition

Choose option 1 - Create primary DOS Partition. FDISK verifies the integrity of your drive and will ask you if want to use the maximum available size of your hard disk to create the primary partition and set it active.

1) You should end up in the MS DOS prompt A: (A drive). From A: command prompt type fdisk. You will be presented with following message:

2) Choose "Y" to enable large disk support. You will now be presented with the FDISK main menu as shown below.

3) From the menu, choose option 1 - Create DOS partition or Logical DOS drive. Another menu will present the following options.

There are different types of External Components (output devices) such as…

Speakers

Monitors

Scanner

Audio Card

Page 13: James work for cisco

What is an Output Device? All those Components are Output Devices. An output device receives information from the computer and translates it from machine language to a form that we can read or so that another machine can read the information.

MonitorA computer monitor, also known as computer screen, is a computer device that shows moving or still images that have been generated by the computer by the graphics card in the computer. There are several display standards in the monitor that define how the images are viewed on the computer monitor

SpeakerA speaker is a device that connects to your computer which plays music whether its through, Windows Media Player, iTunes, YouTube or any other Music Websites. You can also use sound to listen to Films

Audio CardThe sound card is an expansion card that allows the computer to send audio information to an audio device like speakers or a pair of headphones.

ScannaerA scanner is a device that captures images for prints, posters, magazine pages, and similar sources for computer editing and display. Scanners come in hand-held, and flatbed types and for scanning black-and-white only or colour
