IZAMAL

Our private tour begins in Izamal. It is known in Yucatán as the Yellow City (most of its buildings are painted yel-low) and the City of Hills (that actually are the remains of ancient temple pyramids). Izamal is an important archaeological site of the Pre-Co-lumbian Maya civilization. It is probably the biggest city of the Northern Yucatec Plains and remains a place of pilgrimage within the Yucatán state, now for the venera-tion of Roman Catholic saints.

A large Franciscan Monastery was built atop the acrop-olis. It was named after San Antonio de Padua. Com-pleted in 1561, the open atrium of the Monastery is still today second in size only to that at the Vatican.

CHICHEN ITZA

This Mayan city stands today as one of the most popular archaeological sites in Mexico. Chichen Itza is located just west of Valladolid one of the most beautiful colon-towns from XVI century.

The night tour at the archaeological site of Chichen Itzá begins at the main entrance of the site. For about 45 minutes, you will be able to visit some of the main build-ings in the surroundings of the Pyramid of Kukulkán (The Castle).

Afterwards, you will be seated in front of the pyramid to enjoy the projection on its façade.
