The season of Spring celebrates rebirth & rejuvenation of the mind, body & spirit! Unlike any other season, this one epitomizes romance in its own way. A Spring romance can instigate the production of pheromones, which are essential kindling to the spark of love in the life of a couple. Welcome new beginnings, celebrate cherished relationships, and love your spouse with a newness that is like no other time of year! Take a new lead in the path of romance and become mesmerized, savoring the enchantment and beauty of springtime love! Why not, paint your life in colors of romance and rejoice getting splashed!

Spring Romance Ideas

1. The Farmer’s markets are plentiful this year, especially with fruits-specifically strawberries in Florida- and veggies, thanks to the mild winter. Take advantage of the freshness and prepare a fresh, home-cooked meal for the one you love. If you don’t cook, there are plenty of eateries around town that cook fresh and buy local!

2. With the time change, days have gotten longer. Take advantage of the local beaches and waterfront venues to keep closeness and romance in your life through strolling and dining!

3. Nature calls…in a romantic way! Beaches are beautiful. Flowers are blooming. Grass is regaining the chlorophyll green it has lost over the chillier months. Why not, ignite your flame of love while on a picnic? The Florida State Parks are amazing, and there are so many to choose from in such a short distance from practically anywhere in the state, why not explore new territory? : )

4. Being on the water is one of the most romantic places on earth to totally feel nature. Try a boat ride along the Anclote River, and into the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. You can’t help but feel romantic as you cruise along the waterways in the sunshine or under the moonlight!

5. If your significant other loves sports, March Madness is underway, and baseball season is in full swing! Surprise him/her by purchasing tickets to an upcoming event, and embrace the tailgating experience! You’ll soon be embracing your special sports fanatic!

Romance is what you make it, and this Spring, take nothing for granted! Share the love, share the romance and share intimate moments wherever and whenever the season prompts you! Happy Spring!

They met during the summer of 1991. It was seemingly a fairy tale as Julie McWilliams describes their “whirlwind romance.” It was Christmas when Maryland native, Gil McWilliams, got down on one knee and proposed marriage to Julie in front of her entire family. It was an offer she could not refuse! After a long engagement, Julie & Gil were married in a quaint, log, wedding chapel in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, August 26, 1997.

After 21 years together, the two share a great deal of pride for their family, their community and their professional accomplishments. They have two beautiful children: their son, Devin, is a graduate of Ridgewood High School and currently serves in the United States Marine Corp, and their daughter, Lauren, attends Odessa Elementary school.

The couple’s primary source of joy is their family. Julie explains, “Devin, my 21 year-old Marine, is my hero. He exudes great confidence and courage every day defending our country. Lauren, my 9 year-old, keeps me grounded. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t amaze me with her intelligence and charm. She is the light of our lives! My husband, Gil, is the most determined man I know. He accomplishes any task he sets his mind to.”

This determination to succeed in the highly competitive HVAC industry drives Gil daily. “I enjoy being able to see the fruits of my labor and the happiness it brings to each member of my family. Plus, being appreciated by my employees and customers for a job well done brings me great satisfaction at work,” he continues.

Having served West Tampa Bay for more than 30 years, McWilliams & Son, Inc., is the HVAC contractor “Keeping You Cool” in Pasco, Pinellas, Hernando, Citrus and Hillsborough counties. His team is dedicated to providing quality work , time and attention to detail for each and every customer. With a variety of services and products from which to choose, the experts at McWilliams and Son can customize a solution that is perfect for your particular needs.

Julie owns Planet Beach Contempo Spa in New Port Richey. Planet Beach is not simply a salon for UV tanning and UV-Free spray tanning. This “Contempo Spa” offers massages, facials, Hydro-Derma Fusion, SaunaTox, guided meditations, oxygen therapy, and red light therapy. These affordable and self-automated spa treatments, combined with high quality products, helps customers achieve their total skincare, wellness and stress-relief goals. Julie loves seeing how the services her team provides makes people happy about how they look and feel.

The McWilliams’ are very active in the Trinity community. Julie is involved with Trinity Rotary and Sunshine State Westie Rescue, while Gil is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa house, which provides funding to local charities. They both actively participate in various local networking groups.

When Devin’s four year commitment of service to the Marines ends this year, he plans to return home to join his father at McWilliams & Son. Lauren is planning to become a traveling veterinarian when she grows up. Like a “contempo” fairy tale, Gil, Julie and their entire family are on track to live happily ever after!

Spring is the time of year in which we witness rebirth, renewal and regrowth. Our homes will be decorated inside and out with blossoming flowers symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings. Did you know that the first sight of the beautiful flower, daffodil also known as a jonquil or “Lent Lily.” is not only a sign of winter’s end but also a lucky emblem of future prosperity throughout the world?

I have vivid memories of my grandfather as he shared his love of nature and flowers, his favorite were daffodils. We would take long walks, stopping often as he explained each beautiful flower and berry that came across our path. I remember eating the berries right from the bush savoring the sweet smells and tastes of nature that Spring had sprung. We would walk for hours through the woods and fields in Connecticut as I listened to Grampy’s words of wisdom. We would stop at the side of the brook, cup our hands and taste the cool water as he recited beautiful poems with such exhilaration in his infamous British accent. His favorite poem was written by William Wadsworth and was of course called Daffodils:

I wandered lonely as a cloudThat floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,A host, of golden daffodils;Beside the lake, beneath the trees,Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shineAnd twinkle on the milky way,They stretched in never-ending lineAlong the margin of a bay:Ten thousand saw I at a glance,Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but theyOut-did the sparkling waves in glee:A poet could not but be gay,In such a jocund company:I gazed--and gazed--but little thoughtWhat wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lieIn vacant or in pensive mood,They flash upon that inward eyeWhich is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills,And dances with the daffodils.

I close my eyes and hear his voice, I savor the sweet smell of my favorite flower...Spring has arrived!

You Asked: Why should you add Carpet Cleaning to your Spring Cleaning List?

Complete Care Systems Answered:Everyone should add carpet cleaning to their spring cleaning list because just like the air filters in your home need to be changed your carpets need to be cleaned too. They are like one big filter taking in the dust, dirt and grime that we track in from outside.

Whether you wear your shoes in the house or not each time you open the door more dirt comes in. Dust mites live in your carpets, upholstery and your mattresses. They love moist humid weather and Florida is a great breeding ground for them. Carpets are usually a big investment in your home and you want them to last and look their best. If you take care of them they will last a long time and look nice. Old dirty carpets never look good. Think about your upholstery. You sweat, your skin sheds, and your clothes are dirty. All that stays in there until you clean it. Yuck!

Carpets and upholstery should be cleaned yearly. If you have pets or allergies, you need to have them cleaned more often.

Contact Our Hometown Professional, Complete Care Systems for more information, 727-364-5158 or www.completecaresystems.com. They are licensed, insured and have been background checked by www.Asktheseal.com. They don’t cut corners, they clean them!

One Size Does Not Fit All Consider It Organized

“One Size Fits All” may work for clothing. However, when it comes to organizing personal belongings, paperwork and home offices, it is certainly not the norm.

That’s why Robin Blinder makes it her life’s work to alleviate the pains that come with filing, sorting through, boxing up, storing and eliminating the items that are cluttering our lives, or have been left behind by loved ones. Her main focus is organizing. Robin

can harmonize all aspects of your home. She is also a master assistant when it comes to move management, as well as helping estate attorneys and caregivers with the many details that go along with possessions left behind.

It’s all about customization and organization. Robin takes time to understand each customer’s needs, in order to tailor her service to fit each individual client. Need to downsize for the sake of saving space or in preparation of a move? Not a problem. Robin will handle your possessions as if they were her own.

“I would have never imagined I could ever find a more perfect way to marry my passion and lifestyle with a business,” Robin confesses.

To contact Robin for all your organizational needs, please call 727-264-6035, email her at [email protected], or

To attract buyers, sellers must up the ante to convince them that their property offers what many want most — top value for dollar expended. Here are eight fast fixes:

1. Buff up curb appeal. You’ve heard it before, but it’s critical to get buyers to want to look on the inside. Be objective. View listings from the street. Check the condition of the landscaping, paint, roof, shutters, front door, knocker, windows, house number, and even how window treatments look from the outside. Add something special — such as big flower pots or an antique bench — to help viewers remember house A from B.

2. Enrich with color. Paint’s cheap, but forget the adage that it must be white or neutral. Just don’t let sellers get too avant-garde with jarring pinks, oranges, and purples. Recommend soft colors that say “welcome,” lead the eye from room to room, and flatter skin tones. Think soft yellows and pale greens. Tint ceilings a lighter shade.

3. Upgrade the kitchen and bathroom. These make-or-break rooms can spur a sale. But besides making each squeaky clean and clutter-free, update the pulls, sinks, and faucets. In a kitchen, add one cool appliance, such as an espresso maker. In the bathroom, hang a flat-screen TV to mimic a hotel. Room service, anyone?

4. Add old-world patina. Make Andrea Palladio proud. Install crown molding at least six to nine inches in depth, proportional to the room’s size, and architecturally compatible. For ceilings nine feet high or higher, add dentil detailing, small tooth-shaped blocks used as a repeating ornament. It’s all in the details, after all.

5. Screen hardwood floors. Buyers favor wood over carpet, but refinishing is costly and time-consuming. Screening cuts dust, time, and expense. What it entails: a light sanding, not a full stripping of color or polyurethane, then a coat of finish.

6. Clean out, organize closets. Get sorting — organize your piles into “don’t need,” “haven’t worn,” and “keep.” Closets must be only half-full so buyers can visualize fitting their stuff in.

7. Update window treatments. Buyers want light and views, not dated, fancy-schmancy drapes that darken. To diffuse light and add privacy, consider energy-efficient shades and blinds.

8. Hire a home inspector. Do a preemptive strike, since busy home owners seek maintenance-free living. Fix problems before you list the home and then display receipts and wait for buyers to offer kudos to sellers for being so responsible.

Is your heating and cooling system not running optimally? You could be wasting money. Is it circulating low quality air through your home, and consuming more energy than necessary? Try calling a professional contractor to help you upgrade your HVAC system if;

Your air conditioning unit or heat pump is older than 10 years.Replacing an old system with a new high-efficiency unit that uses the eco-friendly R4 10A refrigerant should translate into big savings. Depending on what you're replacing and what you replace it with, you can save up to 50% on your cooling costs.

Your furnace is older than 15 years. You might want to install a new high-efficiency furnace. They are at least 15% more efficient than conventional furnaces and typically, the older the system, the less efficient. Looking at a boiler? Standard models are 5% less efficient than a high-efficiency boiler.

You frequently repair equipment and your energy bills continue to climb. (Doesn't everybody's?) With all these repairs, your cooling and heating equipment may have become less efficient. It might be time to consider AC and heating system replacement.

You have rooms in your home that are too hot or cold. Any of these could be the cause: Improper equipment operationDuct problemsInadequate insulation

There is no one home for long periods of time. Do you have a programmable thermostat? From basic to touch-screen, a good contractor can install and instruct you on a programmable thermostats use. Start saving energy and money while you're away or sleeping.

You notice more dust than usual in your home.Distributing air through your house with poorly sealed ductwork may be pulling particles from attics, crawl spaces or basements while also congesting your equipment.

You hear your air conditioner or heater running, or frequently kick on and off. Undersized return air or ductwork could be the problem. Maybe it’s the indoor coil of your cooling equipment.*

HVAC is a system and is only as strong as its weakest link. To maximize comfort and efficiency you must have the right equipment (the boxes that sit outside and inside your home) and a properly designed and sealed air-distribution system. In fact, if you have leaky duct work, your system could be up to 40% less efficient and less green. Step into Springtime Fun!Yeah, Spring! It’s time for vibrant, glowing and lush color! From textures to shimmers, Spring is the time we get to renew and rejuvenate our spirits and our souls!

Let’s talk make up first. The colors are warm and bright. Sultry and shimmery. Ultra, high-glossy lips are all the rage, with soft cheeks and warm eyes. Pearls, greens, coppers, and sandy neutrals capture the essence of the earth on the runways this season. From block sandals to glittery flats, this season brings fun into our closets! Graphic print T’s and trendy jackets in stripes or shines, always add an exciting element to your look. Great chunky bracelets will glam up any outfit. If you keep most of your accessories classic, they will transfer from season to season making fashion budget-friendlier!

This is also a great time to clean out your closet. I know. You don’t have the time. I can so relate. The thought of purging my closet kills me! Most of the time, it’s because I know it will take hours, as I will want to organize at the same time. But mostly, it’s because I’m afraid the moment I get rid of some-thing is when I’ll want it back. I know I’ll find that perfect ‘whatever it is’ to go with what I just got rid of. Yes. That may seem silly, but I know there are readers out there that feel my pain! My advice is to start by pulling all the things in your closet and in your make-up drawer that you distinctly remem-ber not wearing last spring. Set those aside in a bin or bag in your closet. Make it a goal once a week this season, to eliminate at least one thing that you know really needs to go. Again, set it aside-.Out of sight, out of mind. That way, come summer - or even fall - if you haven’t needed to go back into your closet “stash” – OR if you can’t remember what’s even in it - then you are safe to donate it away!

Check out my top pick ideas for make-up, clothes, and acces-sories for this season. Enjoy!

Suncoast Waldorf SchoolTheir website proclaims, “A Waldorf education is that of a vital living approach to learning, rooted in a long tradition of honoring the stages of childhood.” Founded in 1919 by Austrian philosopher, scientist and artist, Rudolph Steiner, the Waldorf education has grown to thousands of institutions in 87 countries worldwide. “Waldorf centers around each human being as a unique individual through distinct life stages, and it focuses on the responsibility of education to address the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each developmental stage. The curriculum is designed to naturally complement these stages.”

Channel 10 did a short feature on the school in December 2011, focusing on the lack of computer technology used within the Waldorf curriculum. It has certainly proven controversial in today’s world of Windows, IPads, IPods, and IPhones.

Yet, Suncoast Waldorf School Founder, Barbara Bedingfield, definitely sees the benefits of a computer-free education through grade eight. “Suncoast Waldorf School works from a different paradigm. It is not the school's goal to ‘fill an empty bucket’ with information, but rather to ignite a fire of learning in every student. This fire of interest in the beauty, wonder and romance of the world is cultivated by the classroom teacher who, ideally, leads the same group of children from first grade to grade eight.

“Through the arts of music, drawing, painting, modeling, dramatizing and movement, the teacher brings the lessons in such a lively and imaginative way that children can't help falling in love with the world to which they are introduced. The teachers must create the lessons that the children before them are calling for and, therefore, no teacher in a Waldorf school teaches out of a script.”

As a graduate of a public school system, I did not have computers while attending elementary or middle schools, and the only classes with computers in my high school were accounting. My personal curriculum and extra-curricular activities involved English, writing, drama, and instrumental music, while I studied the sciences at honor levels. Without even a basis of knowledge of the Waldorf education, I learned to love and appreciate the arts, literature, and nature through learning and living B.C. – Before Computers.

A Waldorf education is not the best idea for every child. However, I believe this type of education certainly has its benefits based on their published graduate statistics, and the parents, children and administrators I have been honored to meet.

The Suncoast Waldorf School is located at 1857 Curlew Rd., Palm Harbor. For more information visit their website at www.suncoastwaldor.org., email [email protected], or call 727-786-8311.

Gas Saving TipsAUTO KNOW www.fueleconomy.gov

Keep Tires Properly InflatedYou can improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.3 percent for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.

The proper tire pressure for your vehicle is usually found on a sticker in the driver's side door jamb or the glove box and in your owner's manual. Do not use the maximum pressure printed on the tire’s sidewall.

Planning & Combining TripsCombining errands into one trip saves you time and money. Several short trips taken from a cold start can use twice as much fuel as a longer multipurpose trip covering the same distance when the engine is warm. Trip planning ensures that traveling is done when the engine is warmed-up and efficient, and it can reduce the distance you travel.

About the 2012 pay raise that you received....You received a $1,000 per year pay increase in February for 2012, and probably did not even know it. On February 17, 2012 Congress extended a Social Security tax cut that is estimated

to affect 160 million Americans. The bill was originally signed on December 23, 2011, and the tax cut was set to expire February 29, 2012.

On February 17, 2012 Congress extended the estimated $143 billion Social Security payroll tax cut through the end of 2012. The bill will extend a 2 percent reduction in the tax that goes to fund Social Security for the rest of 2012, saving families $1,000 on average. Therefore, instead of the usual 6.2 percent that you normally pay out of your paycheck for Social Security tax, you are now paying only 4.2 percent, and the 2 percent difference is going to you, adding to your net paycheck, instead of to the Social Security Administration. That lost revenue to Social Security Administration will be replaced in the Social

Security trust fund from the nation’s general tax collections. However, the plan has attracted opposition from both Democrats and Republicans on grounds that it sets a bad precedent and adds a $143 billion cost to the already problematic Social Security deficit. The upside is that for an average family earning $50,000 a year in wages, at 2 percent, the payroll tax cut reduces Social Security tax withholdings by $1,000 a year. This boosts after-tax income by about $85 a month per average household income.

For many families, in this slow economy, this cut will help them pay for groceries, increased gas prices, etc. The 2 percent decrease in Social Security tax is capped at a maximum of $110,100 of wages, which is also the maximum Social Security cap per employee in 2012. Therefore, a higher-income taxpayer, with gross wages of at least $110,100, will save as much as $2,202 per year, or approximately $185 per month, in Social Security tax. One planning issue to consider is that if this 2 percent raise in your salary does, in fact, expire on December 31, 2102 then you should adjust your household budget for 2013 accordingly.

Business SPOTLIGHT

Members Larry & Joanna DeLucaOwners Of Deluca’s Fine Jewelry And Style Makers Salon

on West Pasco Business Association

Both stores are conveniently located right next door to each other in the downtown section of Longleaf Town Center, near Starkey Boulevard in Trinity.

Lovingly known as Beauty and the Bling – the two shops complement each other really well. The DeLuca’s believe that when people look good, they feel good. “What a happy job I have!” Joanna boasts. “Our store is unique. We believe jewelry is like art. Some people are attracted to abstract and some, landscapes. Some go for sculpture and others are happy with a simple flower photo. Have you ever said, There’s something about that piece?” Whether it be the color or style that speaks to you, it makes you feel good when you look at it or wear it. Whether your taste is classic, traditional, fun or funky, they have it and in many price ranges. “You don’t have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks”, says Larry. The two-shops-in-one will dazzle you with style!

Joanna and Larry invite you to stop by and say “hello.” They want you to look around and see what they showcase. You will feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door, and they will help you find exactly what you are looking for. If they don’t have it in stock, they will order it or make a custom piece just for you. Stop by 3104 Town Ave, Trinity or call 727-375-2992 for more information.

We asked Larry and Joanna why that “Hometown Feel” is so important to them and their businesses.

What was your hometown before moving to Trinity?Larry – Mt. Laurel, NJ Joanna – Vineland, NJ

What gave it that hometown feel?Family. We are both from South Jersey which is made up of all small towns and a lot of farmland. Our Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all live in the same town or very nearby in neighboring towns.

What are you doing to pass on that hometown feel to your business now?We are small, homey and try to make everyone feel like family. DeLuca’s Fine Jewelry is connected to our other business, Style Makers Salon, where our clients are also considered family. The two businesses work really well together. Our customers are always complimenting us on our selection of unique jewelry designs. You can find the same old styles in most jewelry stores, but we always like to be different.

As a jeweler, what is your greatest compliment?Trust. When a customer brings in a family heirloom or a very expensive piece of jewelry and tells us that they were looking for a jewelry store that they could trust. They were told to take them to DeLuca’s because they are honest. I don’t think we could get a better compliment.

Why do you feel that it is so important to buy local?Local businesses are typically owned by local people who employ our friends and neighbors, spend their money at local businesses and give back to our community. Why wouldn’t we take care of each other?

What do you like most about IT's YOUR HOME Magazine? You can tell when paging through the magazine the care and thought put into producing the finished product. It keeps growing and really stresses the hometown feel.

How do you feel about your website? Do you love it or do you never look at it because you are disgusted with how it looks? Well, you might be surprised how many people do not like their websites. Poor graphic design, color coordination challenged designers, uncaring website designers can all combine to produce the perfect storm of the UGLY website. Unfortunately, it happens all too often.

Web design companies that are using the same basic template over and over, for example, are out to take your money and give you very little in return. Do you realize that your website is becoming more and more important to your business every day? How often do you go to the yellow pages anymore when you are looking up information on a company? Not Very Often! Your website

is your 24 hour 7 days a week front door to your business and this is where your customers are going to find out more about your business. He, along with several other representatives of the hospital, cut the red ribbon to officially open the new hospital to patients. As of 12:30 PM, 70 patients and one baby had been relocated to Medical Center of Trinity. The hospital expects to transfer between 110-120 patients during the course of a day.

“Protecting life is more than our business –it’s our heartfelt passion. With our sophisticated healing practices, highly-skilled medical talent and advanced medical technology, we bring together compassion, preventative education and innovative treatments,” said CEO, Leigh Massengill, RN. “I feel privileged to work alongside a healthcare team

comprised of more than 450 physicians, 900 employees and 200 volunteers with vast knowledge and expertise. Our healthcare team brings over 40 years experience in a clinical setting that has earned recognition as a Certified Chest Pain Center, a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer, documented STEMI times consistently below the national average, and a Joint Commission Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center.”

As an Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center, Medical Center of Trinity is recognized among the nation’s top performers on four key quality measures – heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care, by The Joint Commission— the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America.

Did you know that just a few minutes each day of monitoring and tracking can make huge differences in the results you get from your diet and fitness regimen? You cannot question why something isn’t working if you are not properly monitoring the habits that should be in place to meet your goals. Too often people start out on a certain diet or exercise program with the goal of having a super model slim body in a short time… and when they do not see results in a few short weeks they simply give up.

If you are tired of starting over, then stop giving up!Instead, start out with a SMART plan of action to lose weight and get fit, one that is scientifically proven. Use a monitor to make sure your workouts are effective, and track your diet!

Habit #1 Track your workouts and use a heart rate monitor that tracks calorie burn. It’s a worthwhile investment to get a heart rate monitor that tracks your calorie burn. You cannot fool yourself or cheat yourself into thinking that wimpy workout you are doing will get you results… once you actually have the caloric burn numbers in front of you! Use your heart rate monitor to determine which workouts will actually get you the best burn for your time. Remember that strength training workouts will burn fewer calories during the workout, but are absolutely crucial for building muscle to boost metabolism

Habit #2 Monitor your diet with a nutrition tracker that takes into account the ratio of nutrients you consume and calories you burned.Your healthy weight is 80% diet. And it is NOT just about cutting calories! You must monitor your nutrition with an online calculator that will track not only calories, but the ratio of protein, carbohydrates, fat and sodium you are consuming. A calorie is NOT a calorie – and if you just create a calorie deficit, you will not see your beautiful healthy body emerge. You cannot live on jello and 100 calorie snack packs and expect to lose belly fat and sculpt a beautiful behind. Your body simply does not work that way.Don’t sabotage your hard work by overeating, or eating too many carbohydrates. Instead, use an online calculator or an app for your phone to track everything that goes into your mouth.

It’s really simple – but if you aren’t tracking your workouts and diet, you can’t get results.

Workout – with intensity, and add strength training to your regimen. Use a heart rate monitor and track your workouts.Eat well – low carb, high protein and lots of vegetables. Use an online nutrition tracker or an app on your phone and keep your diet within weight loss/muscle gain zone.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I just told you how to change things up so you can actual get real weight loss results fast. So don’t be insane… just track it!!!

Beauty IN YOU

health & Beauty

NOTHING IS MORE NATURAL THAN YOU

If you’ve been looking to give your face a youthful boost but are wary of traditional plastic surgery, fat transfer may be the best solution. Many individuals have found this procedure a welcome alternative to facelift surgery. Some believe that fat transfer creates even more natural-looking results. Unlike traditional surgery, there are no scars, the level of discomfort is significantly diminished, the procedure is low-risk, and recovery times are quick. The procedure is performed with local anesthesia and conscious sedation in our Florida-approved surgery center.

The secret is to harvest the healing power of your STEM cells. Dr Cappiello can harvest your stem cells and use them to promote collagen production, tighten the skin, assure fat survival and retention so healing takes place much more quickly.

Beauty is the result of a combination of little things. Dr Cappiello combines many non- surgical procedures to turn back the clock. Dramatic transformations are possible in a single procedure that addresses various areas of the face.

The “SUPER 5” facial transformation is broken down into five basic components:

1. Fat Transfer to the face and fill in the lines and grooves on the face, around the eyes, forehead, and cheeks 2. Mid-Cheek Lift - your fat lifts cheeks for a more youthful contour (no implant)3. Lateral Emphasis Brow Lift – smooths fine lines and lifts the forehead4. Lip Lift and Lip Fillers – Fill your lips with your fat permanently and/ or lift your lips at the corners for what’s known as a cat smile.(Lip Reduction is also available).5. Stem Cell Face Lift - Injection of your stem cells and Platelet Rich Plasma in the face, neck and décolleté.

These procedures are done under local anesthesia and/or with conscious sedation. Many patients will see a transformation in their appearance with just a single visit to Rinnova. If you are looking for a dramatic way to turn back the clock, contact us today to learn more or to schedule a consultation with Dr Cappiello.

Springtime is a great time to springboard our energy levels in the right direction and balance our “life force!” When we make a commitment to ourselves and provide motivation for our family and loved ones, we are setting a good example which can actually add life to our years and years our lives! The big step is making the commitment and arming ourselves with knowledge in an effort to create an abundant, healthy and happy lifestyle, all while taking care of the temple in which our spirit resides. It can be done!

Humans, as well as everything in the universe, consist of information and energy. This energy that flows through us is called “Chi” by the Chinese, “Ki” by the Japanese, “Prana” by the Indians, or “Rauh” by the Hebrews. All of these terms refer to the life force, or universal energy of nature, God, or the divine source of all creation…whatever you wish to call it.

When this flow of energy is blocked, we become stressed, or dis-eased. Continued or increased blockage over a period of time leads to illness, and we begin to experience symptoms of pain and breakdown of our physical bodies. This is the beginning of the process of aging. The good news is, we now know how to reverse the process of aging by removing the blocks and releasing the stress, which is the leading cause of disease and premature death, no matter how old we are or how blocked we may be. When stress increases the triglyceride levels in the blood, it clogs the capillaries and interferes with oxygen delivery by the red blood cells.

When your body’s cells efficiently obtain all the oxygen needed for full functioning, many benefits occur, including the release of fat via carbon dioxide. In simple terms, the right kind of breathing delivers the right amount of oxygen to the cells which helps people get rid of excess fat, boost metabolism and increase energy, among other positive results.

In recent years, substantiation of clinical studies from Tufts Medical, Harvard Medical, the Mayo Clinic, and UCLA, have concluded that the power behind the practice of the ancient arts of Tai Chi & Chi Kung, has had a major impact helping people who suffer from heart disease,

fibromyalgia, depression, sleeplessness, arthritis, and even those who have experienced strokes. Furthermore, studies indicate there is improvement of balance, concentration, focus, and stress elimination on the spot, anytime, anywhere, with the slow fluid graceful movements, along with the proper breathing techniques of this art form. We call it “meditation in motion!”

The Feb 2012 issue of Prevention magazine, gave credit to this form of art for reducing stress, having a powerful effect on metabolic syndrome, decreasing blood pressure, and trimming waist size by at least an inch, according to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

After receiving numerous grants from The National Parkinson’s Foundation, we have facilitated the teaching of this art to their group of Parkinson’s patients. We have watched the transformation take place among their students and their caregivers in the Parkinson’s class. By the end of the first year, one could not determine which participant was caregiver or patient/student. Of course, everyone will achieve different results.

Additionally, we provide classes and certify professional Tai Chi /Chi Kung Instructors, with hands-on training, privately, as a group, or even distant learning.

If you appreciate the life you have been given and are interested in optimal health, we invite you to one of our classes. The first one is FREE, compliments of IT’s YOUR HOME Magazine and it is open to the public. Come join us, grab your husband, your wife, your girlfriends, your golf buddies or everyone at the office, springboard your energy levels and have fun!

His exuberant personality is magnetic and totally reflected in his food preparations and presentations. Chef Kenny Kopcsik of LagerheadZ Bar & Grill is a perfect fit with this newly

renovated restaurant in Tarpon Springs, owned by Rick & Cindy Madden & Jeryl Madden, equally amazing, personable individuals.

Chef Kenny earned his Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in International Economics, which he now finds “boring” compared to the life he has chosen to pursue.

After cajoling from his sister to pursue his passion, Chef Kenny was accepted and eventually became a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He performed his internship at the Wyndham Hotel on Harbor Island in Tampa. He has excelled in applying his knowledge, experience and culinary talents in numerous restaurants in West Tampa Bay. His experience, coupled with his mastery of the dynamics of running efficient kitchens, and the intricacies of designing popular

menus with options to appeal to even the most discriminating palate, has propelled him to new heights as one of our hottest, most talented local Chefs!

“I’ve always been something of a menu collector,” Chef Kenny admits, “I like providing new cuisine that nobody else does, that you can’t get anywhere else. I try to stay in touch with what’s out there and what people really like. I have friends who are foodies that often let me know what it is they like. I also like to go online and see what is trending.” The LagerheadZ “Sliderz” are one menu item that is currently popular and has recently been described by one patron as “high class mini Big Macs.”

His Woodchuck Cider Wingz recipe is one of his personal favorite appetizers and most delicious creations, featuring the craft beer for which it is named. “ I combine the beer, lemon juice, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce as a marinade, then grill mark them, and baked them in the oven with barbeque sauce. They’re healthy, light, and unfried like most wings. I like to use what we’re trying to promote here, gourmet craft beer. It’s cool and representative of what we do. It always warms my heart when they’re ordered.”

LagerheadZ boasts of its extensive variety of craft beers, and Chef Kenny tries to accentuate this theme whenever possible in his preparations. So far, he has been amazingly successful with his culinary creativity! However, he also loves creating new and exciting specials and desserts. He recently featured as a special, Macadamia Crusted Hog Fish as an entrée, and introduced an ice cream cookie dessert with oversized chocolate cookies sandwiching premium ice cream. Chef Kenny strives to exceed customers’ expectations by providing new, exciting menu items, prepared with immeasurable creativity, flavor and love.

“I want our guests to leave feeling full and satisfied, yet wanting to return to try something else. I met a couple the other night that had just moved to Tarpon Springs and were here for the first time. They were very complimentary of their meal, and told me there were at least ten things on the menu they still wanted to try, so they would be returning! That’s very cool,” Chef Kenny confesses.

Buying local produce and seafood is also very important to the Chef. He is all about keeping everything fresh while keeping money in the local economy. A resident of Clearwater, he has embraced the small town feel of Tarpon Springs and camaraderie that goes along with this hometown and it’s people.

Moreover, Chef Kenny is quick to check with patrons at each table in the restaurant to gauge their reactions to his food, and make sure everyone is satisfied. “I want our guests to leave satisfyingly full and dying to come back to try something else. I want them to have a family experience. Our staff is incredibly friendly and personable. We want you to have a great time with your family and/or your friends, and in turn, we want to provide whatever it is that makes you happy.”

The LagerheadZ menu is a collection of Chef Kenny’s favorites, along with staples he successfully makes his own. Everything on the menu is designed to “compete” with anything you’ve ever eaten anywhere else. Come see Chef Kenny at LagerheadZ and you will see, he’s not just another stuffed Chef’s jacket!

LagerheadZ is located at 606 N Pinellas Avenue in Tarpon Springs. Call 727.937.6665 for reservations or more information. You can also visit their website at www.lagerheadz.com, or become a fan on facebook.

Sandra [email protected] • www.KatelynFoundation.orgIn honor of her daughter Katelyn, The Katelyn Foundation is a non-profit organization providing swim lessons to children throughout Tampa Bay.“Learning how to swim is a necessity, not a luxury!”

By Sandra Testo-Michaud SAFETY PATROL

Spring is just around the corner and you’re probably in need of a really good Spring clean like most of us. While I love the notion of clearing out clutter and cashing in, I also love the idea of finding ways to benefit good causes. One way you can do that this spring is this: as you clean out your closets, think about which items you no longer need or want that you can donate to a charity and boy do I have just the charity you can donate to - THE KATELYN FOUNDATION, a non-profit for water safety and drowning prevention.

My dream has finally come into fruition. For years I have dreamed of opening up a consignment shop and calling it “Katelyn’s Kloset” after my daughter Katelyn who drowned in our backyard swimming pool 8 years ago. I had a vision that it would be the most unique consignment shop out there with a warm feeling of shopping right out of a closet. Finally, Katelyn’s Kloset opened up on Saturday March 3rd with everything I envisioned and more. I felt so driven by my beautiful Katelyn every step of the way. We carry infant to juniors clothing, maternity clothing and women’s clothing sizes zero to plus. As most of you know two years after Katelyn drowned my brother and I started The Katelyn Foundation – For Child Safety Awareness, Water Safety and Drowning Prevention. It is so nice to have this unique consignment shop and be able to educate people about drowning prevention as they shop. There is so much information you can pick up at the store on how to drown proof your home as well as steps for safety around the pool. Soon, you will be able to pick up the parents handbook for my swim lessons I teach in my backyard this Spring and Summer. Proceeds from the store will go to The Katelyn Foundation and TKF pays for swim lessons for underprivileged families in the tri-county.

Now is a great time to let go of the jeans that never quite fit or that sweater that wasn't quite your style. Please stop by Katelyn’s Kloset at 2329 Seven Springs Boulevard, New Port Richey, FL 34655 and say hello. Store hours are from 10 am to 6 pm Monday-Saturday. There are three ways you can consign with

us…Donation, (A tax receipt can be obtained for a charitable donation that can be deducted on your taxes next year), cash on the spot or credit with us. I look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for your support.

March 31st is our Grand Opening. Free car seat checks by the Fire Dept.

Hide and Seek Fun for PetsGAIL ARMSTRONG

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SPCA SUNCOAST

It’s that time of year when children are hunting for Easter eggs. Everyone enjoys a good game of hide and seek. Did you know your pet can too? It’s easy and fun and a good way to give your pet some mental exercise. Giving your pet some mental exercise is a great way to tire them out.

To teach your pet the game, start out by making it easy. It’s much more fun to learn something new if you’re successful right from the start. Just take your pets’ regular food and, instead of putting in their bowl, scatter it around their bowl. Make sure they can still see it, but they have to walk around and “find” it. This gives them the idea that their food can be anywhere. The next step is to take the food and make trails so that your pet can’t see all of the food, but can follow it to find every piece. You can even throw in a favorite treat at the end of the trail as a bonus. Of course if you have more than one pet you’ll need to separate them into different parts of the house to make sure everyone gets their fair share and nobody decides all the food belongs to them.

From this point you should be able to start spacing the pieces of food out more widely so there begins to be some actual hunting involved. How tricky you can be at hiding depends on how quickly your pet catches on to the game. You can keep the food limited to one room or start gradually spreading it around into different rooms or even the whole house. Some pets catch on very quickly and you can even put pieces of food under or on furniture so they really have to think. Throwing in an occasional treat will always keep this game more interesting. After all, we all like to find the special prize in the egg hunt!

Saying goodbye to your beloved friend is a loving

but difficult decision.

Circumstances are often too stressful for either

you or your pet to make the trip to your veterinary

clinic. Now those final precious moments can be spent with your pet in the comfort and familiarity of their home surrounded by

all that they love.

Dr. Gayle Burrell

By Debra Taylor In memory...

One evening in November 2010, my dog, Patience, attempted to jump onto my bed and as a result, ruptured the ACL of her left knee. It eventually healed, but the vet warned that she would probably suffer the same type of injury to her right knee within a year, as it would bear the burden of compensating for the bad knee.

His warning came true Tuesday night, February 14, 2012. Patience tried to jump into a chair she had jumped into a hundred times, and the good knee blew. She couldn’t walk. My heart sank as I watched her limp around. Her bad knee could not support her chubby body, and she could do nothing but lie down. I was up all night with her knowing I had a terrible decision to make.

Reluctantly, I called Dr. Gayle Burrell of Gentle Pet Passings to discuss Patience’s situation. She was so kind and exerted no pressure with regards to my difficult decision. It was the most heart-wrenching decision of my life. I could not be selfish, my sweet girl was suffering.

Dr. Gayle came to our home, where she promptly hugged me and offered Patience love and treats! I was an emotional mess, but I was thankful I did not have to load my 55-pound dog in the car and unload her at the animal hospital, which would only have increased our anxiety.

After brief paperwork, I said my final goodbyes, while Patience was put into a deep sleep on the blanket she loved in front of her favorite window overlooking the Anclote River. Within seconds of an intravenous injection, she was gone.

Within a few days, Dr Gayle returned to bring me Patience’s paw print cast in a beautiful frame, and surprisingly, an urn- almost the same color as Patience- containing her ashes. After nearly a month since her “gentle passing,” I still miss Patience terribly. Although her spirit is gone, I cherish my memorial to her next to the window overlooking the river!

Thank you, Dr. Gayle, for doing what you do. As painful as it was saying goodbye to my best friend, it would have been much worse under different circumstances. The peaceful nature of your job was a blessing to me…and Patience. May God bless you for your warmth, compassion and the service you provide!

A Special Thank You to DR. GAYLE BURRELL OF GENTLE PET PASSINGS

Some May Call Her Becky Bennett. We Call Her SUPERWOMAN!

She is a Superwoman. A Non-Profit Ninja. She is the current President of the Rotary Club of Trinity; Member of the Community Service Council of West Pasco and Chairman of the Bachelor Auction for two years; Public Relations Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals; Secretary of the Central Florida Healthy Start Coalition; Immediate Past-President of the West Pasco Young Professionals Group; Member of the D-10 Society; Graduate of Leadership Pasco and Leadership Hernando. Read on to see what drives this vivacious volunteer!

What do you love most about the career path you have chosen with Pasco Kid’s First?I have the opportunity to lead a team of wonderful women who make an impact on families today and for generations to come. These ladies provide new and young families with skills, resources and confidence to be the best parents they can be! We recognize that parenting is a difficult job and even harder for mommies and daddies who didn’t have the best role models or support systems to guide them in creating healthy and safe environments for their babies. Many of our team members have been with us for 13 years, and they stay because they enjoy impacting peoples’ lives. Working with this dedicated and talented group of women is what I love most.

What do you contribute to the success of your career?I believe it is my passion and true belief in the missions of the organizations in which I have worked. I began successful programs at Staten Island University Hospital and Hernando Pasco Hospice. I started pet therapy programs called Caring Paws and Compassionate Paws at the hospital and hospice, respectively. They gained national recognition for the outcomes of decreasing patients’ blood pressures and reducing anxiety. I also created the Legacy Program at Hospice, where trained volunteers interviewed and videotaped patients who wanted to leave messages for their loved ones. After a shaken baby death of an eight month-old we were serving at Healthy Families, I became an extreme advocate for the prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome. I talked about this tragedy in the community, emphasizing the importance of ‘coping with crying’, so families don’t experience this violent loss of a baby. I feel my passion towards what I do and the causes I believe in draws others to want to be part of the solution.

Which organization are you most passionate about and why? Rotary. It is an amazing group that makes a difference locally and around the world. I take advantage

of working on as many projects with my fellow Rotarians as possible, including cooking at the Rap House, and serving at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. I have also been blessed to have

gained experience with Rotarians on a worldwide scale when I traveled to Honduras with fellow club members throughout the United States to work on a pure water project to bring clean water filtration and latrines to families in a the village of Trojes.

I call the members of Trinity Rotary my family. In fact, I met my boyfriend, Eddie, through Rotary friends, and he has since joined our club. They are my best friends and we celebrate our good work, our personal milestones, and we take care of each other during difficult

times.

Why would you encourage local businesses to become more involved in community networking and volunteering?

You feel good about yourself giving back to the community. Plus, you build a reputation of integrity, generosity and ethical practices while doing business with like-minded people. The relationships built during networking and volunteering are a valuable key to word-of-mouth advertising and building your business. It can only help your business or cause. It is important to note you get out of networking what you put into it.
