Welcome to the USA.

The project is about the USA. I’ve chosen this topic because I think the USA is a very beautiful and unusual country.

Washington.

Washington is the capital of the United States; it is quite a young city. The population of the city is about one million people. It is not a very large city, but it is very important as the capital of the USA.

The White House.

The White House, the residence of the President is the oldest building in the capital and one of the most beautiful. It is two-storied white building. The White House has 132 rooms. Visitors may tour some of the first-floor rooms.

The centre of New-York is Manhattan Island. Today Manhattan is the centre of business and commercial life of the country.

There are many skyscrapers, banks and offices of business in Manhattan.

The statue of Liberty The statue of Liberty

was built in New-York Harbor in 1886. It was a gift from the people of France. The statue of Liberty is America’s symbol of freedom.

The Capitol. Washington has many

historical places. The largest and highest building in Washington is the Capitol, where the Congress of the USA meets. It is a very beautiful building with white marble columns.

The Washington monument.

Not far from the Capitol is the Washington monument, which looks like a very big pencil. A special lift brings visitors to the top in 70 seconds and they can enjoy the view of the city.

The Niagara Falls, on the Niagara River Between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, are

one of the most splendid sights in the world.

Famous for its theatres Broadway is here. Very few people live in Manhattan, although the majority work here. New-York is inhabited by people of almost all races and nationalities.

CITIES. There are many big cities in the United

States: New-York, Philadelphia, Houston, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles.

The USA is a big country and the climate conditions are very different in different places.

The nature is very beautiful.

You can enjoy sunbathing and swimming on the numerous beaches.
